Watched Wind River last night. Damn good movie. Such a great final scene too. Just two grieving fathers sitting next to each other.
Sotnas and neither of those fathers would be there if it wasn’t for your people robbing them of their land.

I agree. I'm a Native American and it's so sad that we worry more about missing pets than missing native American women. Taylor Sheridan also does the series Yellowstone with Kevin Costner. It's a great show.

Wind River was a beautiful, sad, and emotional movie.
It is unfortunate that it is based on a true story.
I tell myself that the world is a huge place, that there is bound to be bad ones, in order to bring some justification of the bad things happening...but it still doesn't justify the horrific things we do to one another...
Emilian Stanev: it is based on hundreds if not thousands of cases where Native American women have been murdered and/or gone missing. It tells the story of all these women.
This particular story (in the movie) is just one of many 'stories' of what happens to these women, but because there are no records kept the actual story depicted in the movie of what happened to Natalie (and her best friend, Emily, the daughter of the hunter/tracker who was murdered a few years prior to Natalie's rape/murder) cannot be verified.
It's based on thousands of actual stories just like it. While missing person statistics are compiled for every other demographic, none exist for Native American women. While it states that is a true story in the beginning, all it means is that the horrific acts perpetrated against 'Natalie' is potentially the story of hundreds of Native American women. It uses fiction to portray facts.

The circumstances of Natalie's death were much kinder than what too many with missing and murdered Native relatives expected to be revealed.
Wind river was the best film of 2017 and after watching it a second time it's even more heartbreaking. It's staggering to believe the fact that these atrocities to native women continue in our modern world. It's so easy to live in our own shallow world and be unaware of the atrocities that exist around us. This movie brings awareness and hopefully change to a very unsettling reality.
I also came here after seeing the movie "Wind River". What a hauntingly beautiful song. Can't seem to get the melody out of my head.

Stumbled across this well done movie, really enjoyed it and Jeremy's character and the justice he served on the last scum bag. Then this song came on. Finding the gold dust sprinkled on this story made the perfect ending.
Searched this tune immediately after watching Wind River.
It’s a shame how native people especially the women have been treated throughout history and continue to be treated. I can’t make much of a difference but I can use my voice for others that can’t. As a white man in Canada, a country robbed from Natives, our history disgusts me and I hope if anyone reads this it sparks you to never sit quietly should injustice unfold in front of you.

I just want to watch that over and over again but can't do that because I don't want myself to be emotional. This movie deserves good credit and especially when it comes how it ends.
