The new meta in dubstep is going slower. After years of going faster up to 150 BPM and 180.
Odium by MKVTA and Antima is the second most listened to track on the compilation despite being 120bpm half time 60ppm.
Marauda's HEAVE's second drop is the most replayed at 120bpm half time, the slowest drop in the track.
Now this.
People are craving the paradoxical nature of dubsteps slow pulse, high energy impact - the inverse of which would be something like 300BPM chill Eurobeat - and it looks like that's what's going to be supplied in the future.

Reality is "all" BPM's are great (besides way too low, then opposite would be like over 5-10k). Slow and fast both have their pro's and cons. I'm kind of glad more songs are being made at a lower BPM again, but really as long as the song is good I don't care. Slower is more chill which I like and faster is more hype which I also like, nothings wrong with either of them. People these days just have goldfish memory and attention span because of Social Media, but music is art. All because a song is slow does not mean it is boring or trash it just means it's not your style.

@@MrRADicalOfficial You didn't read my comment. I said dubstep is paradoxically slow ppm (not bpm) but high energy, not only in spite of the slowness, but somehow because of the slowness.
In every other EDM genre, the tempo change is always towards a higher tempo to be more exciting,
but uniquely in dubstep, the tempo change is to slow down to be even more high energy.
It's a historically unique musical phenomenon, and I wish it had more analysis.

Way too short on my taste but GOD DANG the A & B section of the drop is blistering world ending brutal.
