Videos made by filmmakers for filmmakers are the best, they're short and conscise there's no extra 5 minutes of bs i came here to get camera angles and i got them
Man thank you for getting straight to the point and clearly explaining them without blabbering on or trying to sell stuff. Thank you
I love how your videos are straight to the point
I think this video is really valuable for artists who are struggling with their composition in paintings. Studying these different kinds of cinematic shots could provide insights into how to approach storytelling in paintings. Great video
I love that on the same day all the shills are dropping their *next best thing* content you are out here dropping actionable knowledge that is not limited to gear
Dude, I saw that kind of weird. I don’t know why everyone has to drop all those gear videos on the same exact day.
It almost makes me not wanna watch them Lol
@@Alexzarfatifilms Media embargoes, products shipped weeks in advance with agreements in place for "influenzas" to release on a given day at time, i was the biggest chump to this this GAS until i started comparing specs as policy for every new released product to show my dopamine riddled brain the incremental (if even that) improvements are not worth the money spent which i could use to search for a place or person that would be interesting infront of my camera which is what cinema really is (imo) more power to you and your journey man! heavily rooting for you
Thanks brother I really appreciate that
I gave a big applause to this video, you are one heck of a genius for making it.. learnt a lot, thanks!!
You are absolutely a amazing teacher Alex keep it up because no doubt this is pure gold for any aspiring film maker or even who is already is a pro well done
This is a great video. Perfect explanations, examples and straight to the point. Thank you!
this sum good stuff bro, keep up the good work!
It was so interesting and informative that I would keep watching for an hour without blinking.
Thanks for the video and for saving my time.
Well done mate! Thanks for all the insight!
Excellent summary of shots, Cheers for that.
Very well-presented and useful information. Thanks for sharing, Alex!
One thing that unlocked my shot variability was understanding that "wide" doesn't always mean "wide lens", and that each shot intentionally has a specific part in the story, in the way it is captured can tell the story completely different than another.
That’s actually really true I didn’t mention that but I have found I like using 50mm for my wide shots and it really gives it a great look. Intention is definitely everything your spot on about that.
@@Alexzarfatifilms Same here. Getting 50mm+ gives such a different feel that's - dare I say it - "cinematic".
@benjamin.kelley lol damn we collectively need to come up with another word to use instead of “Cinematic” it’s just so hard cause it’s so perfect lol 😂
Great video Alex, thank you so much
Very detailed and professional. The message has so much clarity and inspiring ❤❤❤
This was so helpful!! Thank You!! New sub!
wonderful video mann, learned a lot. keep it up
thank you legend for this information
Bro that was really amazing, best video ive found where each shot is explained clearly and given its purpose, this is super helpful. Thank you so much you re awesome
You are very welcome 🙏🏻
Another great video! Cheers 🍻
Thanks for sharing 👍
Excellent video bro and really liked the examples being used
an absolute pleasure and lesson learned with this video. THank you so much for keeping it this simple to understand. you have inspired me to work smarter Brother. :)
Great pointers the content is like a school session. Overall learning a lot. Thanks 🙏🏾
Anytime brother🙌🏻
Great stuff!
great!
Thank you!
This helps so much 😊
🔥🔥🔥great job bossman
Great informative video!
Great video, super informative and i feel like i could reflect on alot of those shot in different films ive seen and recall why they showed up at that point in the narrative.
One question i do have is about the close ups, why are they typically done at around 80mm as you said? My guess is that zooms can have a more flattering effect on the intimate features on body or face.
Thanks for great content!
Very thanks ❤❤
You're a great teacher and Speaker bro
Thanks brother
@@Alexzarfatifilms Absolutely!🙏🏽 Definitely Subscribed and tuning in!
Straight elite content!
Thanks brother
In my eyes, all shots should have a reason to exist and should most often be long shots. Long shots helps the audience connect the characters with the setting and allows us to feel like a real person watching these characters. I don’t enjoy constant use of rack focus, over the shoulder shots because it takes us out of reality, holding us at gun point to pay attention only to what the characters are discussing. Sometimes it is effective, but a simple LS or FS with a group of characters talking (in one shot) just feels more satisfying to look at.
Great one!
you sent this 7 minutes ago and the video was released 7 minutes ago. There is no way you watched the whole video in less than a minute...
@lustrous3846 😂
@@lustrous3846I didn’t need to watch everything before having to comment!
I saw the first 32 seconds and I had to comment immediately!
I hope there isn’t a problem with that.
@tochithevoice no way brother!!!! I know what you mean. I’ve done the same thing. I do find it funny though that my man is peeping the time you left the comment lol.
I love it
Perfect video seri bro 😘😘😘😘
Brilliant
that was short but sweet :) to the point....
Just watch Kurosawa! He's the best at moving the camera and the subject within the frame. I understand that people just want to study modern directors, but modern filmmaking is mostly lazy, and Kurosawa still, 7 decades later, stands at the top! Thank goodness Roger Deakins exists in this era and others, obviously.
i wonder which camera and lens do u use for u aroll videos? thanks a lot
I use an Ursa 12K and Sigma art 24-35mm
Can you suggest the focal length with the shots.
Best lens for medium shots?
それぞれの技法はどの焦点距離のレンズが割り当てられる事が多いですか?
This is definitely not what I thought this video was going to be about when I bookmarked it for later
Damn dude you’re the second person that said that. Genuinely curious what were you expecting?
@@Alexzarfatifilms maybe combined with camera movements, such as dolly shots, jib booms, focus racks, etc, into these shots.
❤
Amazing video! Although angles aren’t shots
Great Video !
I subscribed, nice and short, no bullshit, would be nice for you to pause the videos and draw over the picture explaining placement of the camera and subjects, more of a guidance in a more practical way...
What is the background music?
wow acabo de tener una iluminación para crear contenido, Gracias.
Gracias mi amigo
Jesus Christ, what a video!
Thanks
I wish more "CONTENT CREATOR" understand what POV mean, they've been using it wrong all over internet. Sometimes I even saw "filmmaker" doing it wrong as well lol
I’m going to interview some African heads of state and some African Kings. Pre colonial kingdoms. What shots would you recommend?
good ahh vid
Absolutely! 🙌 Thanks for sharing these amazing tips! I'll definitely try incorporating some of these shots into my next video. Can't wait to see how they elevate the final product! 🎬✨
Now, you shot then you ask AI to reconstruct the scene as if it was Denis villeneuve. Ez.
lol hahah
love your videos on filmmaking.. you are such underrated filmmaker. keep going love from India
Misleading video title. 😔
Really? What were you expecting? If you don’t mind me asking? Genuinely I wanna know.
@@Alexzarfatifilms *This is just Filmmaking 101. You just regurgitated the basic shot types showing screenshots from random films with weird overlays, grain & transistions and acting like you've found the Holy Grail.*
@cherrytv3 😂 never said I found the holy grail however this is a basic understanding of shots that everyone needs to know and how to use them in your film. While maybe this isn’t helpful to you there are people that benefit from this…. Or maybe not either way it was free info brother 🤷🏻♂️
@@Alexzarfatifilms That's what I'm saying too... If we wanted free info we could just google it. As you are a professional filmmaker, we want some nuanced information from people like you. TH-cam filmmaking space has become like just 'Jingling keys in front of a baby' lately. Please don't make the bare minimum generalized content in order to shove a sponsorship somewhere in between... Or I'm just stupid to expect anything more from you not realising that that's what everyone's aiming to do nowadays.
@@cherrytv3 bruh you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. This video was great and this video affected you so negatively that you had to comment? I hope you have a great day.
shot 7. what is the movie where 2 people on a bed
bro look like billy russo
n
Most of those weren't actually cowboy shots...
whats up with your audio mate? sounds broken, muffled and taccy
thee are video is for Amateur
please am suggesting
don't do the flicker transitions...its kinda distracting... i didn't complete the video because of that..
If you really have to explain this stuff to people… They should find a different occupation. This is like knowing arithmetic before you do calculus.
Maybe just worry about yourself and what you need to do for your own life in order to better yourself. This was a great video and I hope you have a great day
