Great man, just great, love those driving blues licks, but, hey, love everything by The Doors and Robbie Krieger anyway! You seem to have stripped it right down, I might even get a handle on it! You do have to keep it pretty tight for the vocals, but I reckon you can impro across the go down slow bit.....anyway, thanks, and don't forget, 'Mr Mojo Risin'.....is an anagram of Jim Morrison. he's out there.....somewhere.
In case you can't read French, I told you that you are a great guitarist and I love your cover. Thanks to you I am progressing in the blues. Thank you so much.
Ah keep your eyes on the road, Your hands upon the wheel. Keep your eyes on the road Your hands upon the wheel. Yeah, we're going to the roadhouse, Gonna have a real good-time. Yeah, the back of the roadhouse, They've got some bungalows. Yeah, the back of the roadhouse, They've got some bungalows. They dance for the people Who like to go down slow. Let it roll, baby, roll. Let it roll, baby, roll. Let it roll, baby, roll. Let it roll, all night long. Do it, Honey, do it! All right! Aee Yeah! You gotta roll, roll, roll, You gotta thrill my soul, alright. Roll, roll, roll, roll-a Thrill my soul. Ashen-Lady. Ashen-Lady. Give up your vows. Give up your vows. Save our city. Save our city. Ah, right now. Well, I woke up this morning And I got myself a beer. Well, I woke up this morning And I got myself a beer. The future's uncertain And the end is always near. Let it roll, baby, roll. Let it roll, baby, roll. Let it roll, baby, roll. Let it roll, all night long.
Awesome.. Amazing soloing on this song... What I like best about your channel is though you specialize in u2 you throw in covers from other bands. COOL! Keep up the great work.. hey this time the guitar was louder in the mix.. good thinking!
Revisited this song this week. Thought I was making progress on improving the solo, that was I until I referred back to yours. You make it look too easy.
Don't worry, I am sure you will get this one right, it is not that difficult. If you are not comfortable with it yet, play it slowly. The important thing is to play it correctly, the speed doesn't matter, that will come itself eventually and you will play it all right. If you play it fast with mistakes right from the beginning, you will never get it right. Maybe I already told you that, but maybe not - download the VLC player. It lets you play the backing track in any speed you want without changing the pitch. That is extremely helpfull. I always do it this way whenever I start to learn some fast solo - I play the backing track slowly and play along, or I play along the slowed down original track, that helps even more.
No, you hadn't mentioned the VCL, but I do have an iphone ap called Tempo slow which does the same thing and also allows you to loop certain parts. The stupid thing is I don't use it often and I know I should. I wished I had taken your advice and applied it to Purple Haze. I find its quite difficult to unlearn a piece when getting it slightly wrong. Thanks for the advice, I will try and apply it, Sunshine of your Love is needing that approach I think!
i have been a doors fan since before jim died---and i have to say-----i think your playing is smoking--i bet jim would agree----thanks.....ps you picked a great song also.......
Excellent cover! If I could make one suggestion, in the solo at 1:53 don't use an open E as it's slightly drowned out by the B and C#, do it further up the fret.
Thanks! Yea, I love the strat, it is an amazing guitar. I've had it for more than 6 years and it still feels special whenever I take it into my heands :-)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the intro you play is wrong. I've always learned the walking part was slides from the 5th to 7th fret on the E and A strings.
Yeah, that is another way to play it. As others observed, Robby himsels probably used more than one way to play it. I have actually tried both, this way I felt more comfortable with
:-) Thank you! Robby is an incredible player. Saw him with Ray some 3 or 4 years ago and even though going to see them play the Doors stuff was mostly nostalgy, I have to say that I was absolutely blown away by his playing. I dare to say that he was technically way better guitarist than those 45 or so years ago. But I haven't seen him back then :-)
Thaks! Yea, sure you can play it without effects, you actually shoud, the only reason I used my old multieffect here was that at that time I didn't have a mic to record my (back then brand new) amp - you can see the corner in the background, but it doesn't play in this song. This song is really about finding the right sweet amount of tube overdrive on your amp an maybe a little reverb, that's all :-)
Thanks a lot! Yes, the guitar is great indeed, but it's funny you mention the sound - the guitar is plugged into Digitech RP80 - one of the cheapest multieffects and that goes into the computer. No amp, it is simulated by the Digitech. Yet, the final sound is not bad really. So it is not so much about the equipment. But yea, since then I got myself a nice VOX and a mic and I do it properly now (my last 3 covers - those Aerosmith, Beatles and Springsteen)
...and speaking about Squires - some of them are great guitars, I have 2 - Strat and Tele (you can see them in some of my covers) and I really love them, specially the Tele. But hands down, this Fender Strat is my favourite one :-)
Fantastic. Breathes new life into an old song. You've made it so fresh and alive.
I’ve been playing guitar for years and I’m not sure why people gave u crap about the solo... great work man rock on

Thanks a lot for your kind words! I am really glad you liked my effort.

Wwooowwwwwwwwww perfect cover

Damn!
What about the sienna sunburst strat? Good guitar? Congratulations from Argentina!
Thanks! Yea, I love the strat, it is an amazing guitar. I've had it for more than 6 years and it still feels special whenever I take it into my heands :-)
Very good , great tone what amp are you using?
Thank you! :-) On this one I didn't use any amp (didn't have my VOX back than). It is just a Digitech RP80 multieffect, which also simulates the amp.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the intro you play is wrong. I've always learned the walking part was slides from the 5th to 7th fret on the E and A strings.
if you watch live videos of Robby playing it, he plays it like in this video.
@@primalias Maybe so but if you listen to the studio version you hear slides.
Man... please don’t be so close minded. You think Robby Krieger played this song the exact same way every time he played it? C’mon...
@@Feede88 I was just making an observation based on the studio version.
Yeah, that is another way to play it. As others observed, Robby himsels probably used more than one way to play it. I have actually tried both, this way I felt more comfortable with
Nice!
Thanks!
Nice cover guy. Hugs from Brasil. You rocks
Thank you very much, I am glad you like it.
your fingers are fun to watch, do you practice in front of a mirror?
Very nice! I bet Robby Krieger would have no clue about how to reproduce his own licks.
But I haven't seen him back then :-)
HappyStrat24 RK solos are generally amazing. And he played great licks at the right time. The People are Strange solo is priceless.
Hi! Very nice man, which effects was? Can i play it without pedal with reverb and something else?
Thaks! Yea, sure you can play it without effects, you actually shoud, the only reason I used my old multieffect here was that at that time I didn't have a mic to record my (back then brand new) amp - you can see the corner in the background, but it doesn't play in this song. This song is really about finding the right sweet amount of tube overdrive on your amp an maybe a little reverb, that's all :-)
Thank you very much!
Thanks, i can use this as a guitar lesson. This helped me figure out my mistakes visually.
:-) I am always happy when my videos help other people to learn the songs!
very help dude
epic
HappyStrat24
you guitar is AMERICAN STANDARD? WHAT YEARS SERIAL?
Yes, it is an American Standard from 2010
what's that one chord? something like a? do you have any tabs? @HappyStrat24
Which chord do you mean? Sorry, I don't have tabs
Excelente...!
Thank you!
🤟
somethi n seriously wrong with anyone who gives such talent a thumb down !!
This is really awesome! I'd forgot about this movie.
Movie?!?! Movie????? Good god.
Bien ahi!
Go ahead, you can't go wrong with this guitar!
How much did your strat cost ? Jw
Standard tuning right??
Nice! I used the same backingtrack. I like those with the vocals still in them.
Where can I find those tabs?
I don't know, I have learned it from TH-cam
tell us more about the model strat please? year model?
It is the US Standard Strat, 2010. The finish is Sienna Sunburst
Awesome cover! May I ask you though, since when do you play guitar?
Since many many years ago :-) About 20
*****Many. Can't count that much :-) I got my first guitar in 1993, but started to really play around 2005, I think
***** I was 15 when I got my first guitar
SIENNA SUNBURST STRAT?
Yes
Great job! Love the tone. What effects are you using?
Thanks! I used the Digitech RP80 here (a cheap multi-effect)
What is the tuning?
E standard
Yeap, standard tuning
Hey man, do you have the tabs?
No, I don't have tabs for this. Try the ultimateguitar.com.
...and speaking about Squires - some of them are great guitars, I have 2 - Strat and Tele (you can see them in some of my covers) and I really love them, specially the Tele. But hands down, this Fender Strat is my favourite one :-)
Hi! Any tabs?
+Dawid Witek Sorry, I don't have tabs for this, but it is fairly simple, you can probably pick it up from the video
+HappyStrat24 Probably...i'm a beginner :D
