Your introduction is the biggest unspoken truth in motorcycling. Coming back to motorcycling, over 2.5 seasons of factory test rides allowed me to see what I like, what I don’t like, and in my case, sitting on a scram 411 in a showroom, I dismissed it as not comfortable. I had 30 mins to kill before going to a BMW ride. An RE Scram 411 was available, so I took it out. It put such a smile on my face, and supremely comfortable for 3hr rides. I was sold on the spot. Keep on spreading the truth! People need to ride the bikes for themselves!

@@bigbearbangalore the Triumph accessories I like are the small windscreen, center tank pad, luggage rack, and the high mud guard. Not sure if upgraded seat is worth the expense, but it does look sharp. I want both the upper and lower engine bars. Still not sure if the upper one comes with the bike. The reviews from India say that it does. I still can’t get a straight answer on that. I also like the bullet style turn lights. Again not sure it’s worth the add on price. As an owner of this amazing motorcycle, I can verify that everything that is discussed in this video is true! Always such a joy to watch your videos. Also please do share links for accessories that you have added to it!
Thanks. I bought all at physical stores and not online. The accessories are all from rhe dealership, the mirrors are from Happy Earth Mounts Bangalore.
I was owning duke 200, and upgraded to Scrambler 400x. When I bought duke I was 26 years old and It was apt for that age!! Now I am 35 years old and Scrambler feels apt for now!! Very calm and yet revz like a hunter when needed!! One thing I did not like is the waiting period for accessories, which I have been told by the triumph that they have resolved the issues with suppliers and in a month it shall be available with good amount of stock!! Want to see the bike with loaded accessories ❤
In a personal comment to a fellow test rider I said the same thing. Triumph intended to design the Scrambler and once it was ready they tweaked it a bit and created the Speed so that they can give a tussle to RE.
Enjoyed this interactive analysis and the unalloyed exuberance in both .. I think you both feel as excited as college going youths explaining the virtues of this bike as I felt during my heydays owing a RX 100 ❤
Flabbergasted on your review Sir. Spoke absolutely what I am feeling everyday riding my scrambler❤. On another note, yesterday I got a news that Triumph is planning a backrest and centre stand for Scrambler 400x. I hope it gets launched soon. I was in a need of backrest and hence purchased and assembled it, and later got the news. I purchased the one which sits on the OEM handlebars and hence we do not sacrifice the pretty grab handles. Hope the news will help others, so they can wait a couple of months and get the accessories, if at all the news is true.
I ride a BS4 Duke 200, one thing I have to admit, after the test ride I could not feel that it's almost 30KGs heavier. The weight distribution is done brilliantly. The availability of torque gave me a big smile. Even though I'm 5'8" the height wasn't an issue for me. Now I'm about to book it very soon.
Refreshing to watch a review like this - 2 middle-aged friends with a great sense of humour, thanks, Boski and CK! If you both were college together this is how you would've discussed and reviewed the hot babe in class! 😁 On a serious note, I have no issues as such with my Scrambler. However, if I were to nitpick, I would complain about the gear shift - doesn't feel as smooth, and feels clunky sometimes. No issues with the clutch, which is smooth as butter! I really wish this bike came with a heel shifter as well....planning to fix one soon....
Thank you for the review. I too own a Scrambler 400X, and have done my first 1,000 Km on it now. I love it. One thing I noticed though, is that at low speeds - anything below 40 Km/hr - the motorcycle exhibits some jerkiness. It doesn't matter which gear I am on. And this happens on perfectly flat, smooth road surfaces while keeping a steady throttle. It does not go smoothly, but rather continuous back-and-forth jerking, and the slower you go, the more noticeable it is. Is this normal? I am looking for feedback from people who own the bike. Is this a normal single-cylinder behavior, or is there something wrong with my bike? Thank you.
Great review 👏 👌 looks like all the seasoned motorcyclists are realising the value of mid capacity or lighter motorcycle are more practical and make more sense ,rather than heavy large capacity motorcycles. More fun ,more usable power, less maintenance cost and larger service network ,guess we are witnessing one of the best era in motorcycling with a wide range in choice and all made in 🇮🇳 motorcycles.
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to take a short test ride of the Scrambler 400X. Regrettably, the buzz coming from the foot pegs and the seat detracted from our overall experience. I had a pillion with me, and both of us were able to perceive these vibrations even at lower speeds. Despite this, I found the motorcycle's posture, suspension, and responsive engine commendable. I am curious whether the pronounced vibrations were a result of the test drive vehicle enduring extensive/abusive use by various individuals and reviewers? Additionally, I am interested in understanding if these vibrations become exasperating during highway cruising. Thank you.
Middle weight single will have this buzz. 400X, H450 and 390Adv all have the buzz in the legs. Especially if one’s coming from a smaller cc vehicle, this is something to get used to. And also get used to the heat and also the engine noise. All part of the package!
TS400x is unbridled in city traffic due to stalling issues continuously. And wide turning radius with spongy breaks for city over Himalayan 450. If they sort out these than weight is an advantage but you can reduce same in h450 as well.
I am a 52 years old beginner looking for my first motorcycle (I am 1,82cm high with 110kg weight). Question : Triumph scram 400x or RE Himalayan 450 !? Will do 70% commuting (work etc..) and 30% light touring. Thanx a lot and you have best vlogs and reviews!!! Cheers :)
I have been confused what to buy for last one months, booked Scrambler 400x long back but never went to take the TD, himalayan 450 is never available for TD at most of the RE centres, Took TD for Scrambler, felt good ,No initial stalling great Exhaust Note, good punch, but size felt bit small, then went to look for KTM Adventure 390X( big fan till I rode) , delear arranged a customer bike for TD almost 2000 kms done 1st servicing done, still it stalled in 1st gear 2 times, the vibrations so much the console vibrates everytime you start the same
That was a great conversation. I too have the scrambler. I agree with all the points. But the braking for me is not very confidence inspiring. I mostly ride in the city and occasionally on highways, what's your take on replacing the brake pads with the speed's? Speed's braking was more to my liking and I don't see myself off-roading too often.
I booked himalayan 450 & took trst ride & then took test rode of Trium scram 400x ... OMG sach trium was bestum , wheathers its tje feel or tje quality used in trium. Now i m goona goi t to cancel himalayan n wanna buy Scram trium
Hello Bosky and CK, the review looked like a conversation (in a good way). I would like to know what mileage you are getting on this bike? I believe that was not discussed, please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks and keep up the good work 👍
Great review Bosky. Got my Himalayan earlier last week and it seems like this is good at everything the himalayan is bad at. City rides, commute, low end torque, fit and finish. I do think they both heat up to a similar extend. Do you not mind the vibrations at high revs? I found it very jarring especially since the bike is butter smooth at low revs.
Thanks. I would not say one is good at what the other is bad at. That too extreme. The purpose of for each is different. And I don’t find the buzz intrusive.
Genuinely speaking, except you only I think Sunmi's video about motorcycles makes some sense...though he talks so much about KTM 390, nevertheless. But you are at next level.
I guess you have saved the negatives for your next video. I rode both the Speed and the scrambler and definitely the Scrambler makes sense in terms of Suspension, Foot peg position, posture with the handlebar, pick up and all other things you ve said.. however, would I BUY one..hmm may be not so soon.. after my ride yesterday on the scrambler my thighs were thoroughly cooked. The braking was also below par to my liking. The finish of the silencer wasn't great either..looked very aftermarket- Not sure if it's the same with all others, but the one I rode from Keerthi motors on JP Nagar, definitely had my thighs wanting to dip them in cold water. Also, did not find it that flickable ( in my opinion the RE Hunter has better flickability). Bike kept stalling at low speeds which is SO IRRITATING 🤔 In my opinion, I would tell myself to wait for Triumph to come up with a 2.0 version negating the niggles..
I like the look & finishing of the Triumph Speed 400 more than the Scrambler 400x & the avaliable color option of Speed 400 as well, but at the same time the Speed 400 feels just little bit compact and the Scrambler seat height is too much high. (My preferably seat height is 805 to max 820 mm & My height is exactly 5 feet 75 inch) & My Traveling areas Consist Of 75% City/NH, 25% Village Road with potholes). I have no problem in spending some extra bucks to get the modifications I want. How can I modified Triumph speed 400 to Scrambler 400x without compromising riding quality ? Or is it a waste of money and foolish to even think about doing so ? I mean I am thinking about to replace Triumph Speed's only front travel suspension or may be both front & Rear (5.9 inches in the front & 5.5 inches or 5.9 inches in the rear), Steel handel bar (901 mm), front Sprocket (14 tooth) & front Wheels (19 Inches) with Scrambler 400x. What will you suggest in this case ? Is such modification possible, if yes, will it affect the riding experience and handling posture or will it cause any other problems in long run ?
Man, y'all love the motorcyle, great review! I notice that CK said he had issues with its highway performance, was wondering if you could elaborate on that?
Heartfelt review! Loved it! Sir what about the tyres? I would assume that tyres also provide a significant differentiation from the Speed. Could you share your thoughts?
Bosky, now you have Himalayan 452 and ScramX…. Just a quick question- What did your better half said after sitting on both the motorcycles, that will be one of a core point to consider 😊
Hello I thinking to buy this bike ,why did you say it's a bad on road bike? Are the vibrations that bad at say 100-120 or can we cruise comfortabley? How is the vibrations @100 120 or 140 can you please elaborate. Thank you
Buy it! It's a great machine. On open highways at speeds above 110 kmph, the wind blast gets quite strong. That's the design of the motorcycle and not a defect. While it is possible to use this on the highway, we find it a bit tiring on long open stretches.
साहेब I'm planning to go for old Himalayan 411 (not scram not 450) may be because of first sight love. Not using for adventure tour or Off road, will be using for regular use, for office. Some time I go for trekking, so it is helpful. What is ur suggestion? Ur thoughts pls 🙏
Howdy bosky. took a test ride of scrambler today and I was convinced this is a good bike. However, by the time I ended my ride, I felt a lot of heat on my right calf muscle. Is that expected or the test ride bike was not upto mark? This would be a deal breaker for me as I am not used to riding this way. I was wearing jeans and shoes.
How will the triumph be in its old age? 🤔 I mean mojo seemed promising when it launched (still is a masterpiece of a machine) but it has aged terribly! I am a one bike person and want to keep her forever! Please help me get out of this confusion shall I go with scrambler 400 or go safe with gurilla!!🙏🏻
Hello Bosky Great content as always. I’ve got a question for you which might be irrelevant for this video but your views really matter. Apart from aspects like the value for money and service, would you consider buying Kawasaki Z650RS and still be able to feel close to what you’re feeling for 400X ?
Good video, enjoyed it.. You being so technically sound, which I really admire, I would like to request you to make a video that explains how the torque and power is available in different bikes at different rpms..every bike specs let us know about 40ps @certain_rpm for example, but is it available from get go, or certain rpms or 20% of that nm and ps is available at 2000 rpms and then 40ps at certain_rpm etc. All of these things matter a lot while choosing a bike, and many people only fall for the top numbers, not many reviewers talk about these power deliveries at different rpms because they themselves do not know, they are only beauty-queen-reviewers, hope this comment will get some consideration :), thank you, keep on making amazing videos with different flavours..!!

@billesbacon the upper guards come with the motorcycle. The bullet indicators are a luxury. Luggage in use the Giantloop Great Basin.
@@bigbearbangalore great to here the upper bars are a stock item. That will allow me to apply those funds to get the round lights.
And the knuckle guards?

@@bigbearbangalore thank you!! ❤️
Thanks for sharing. Yes am waiting for the accessories too. Cheers!
In a personal comment to a fellow test rider I said the same thing. Triumph intended to design the Scrambler and once it was ready they tweaked it a bit and created the Speed so that they can give a tussle to RE.
👍
I always liked a simple classic design like the rx or rd.. Yes this is very close and does all task from bringing kothambri to khardung la 😂.
Well said 🙂👍
Motorcycle is all about how it makes you feel. Not just numbers on a spec sheet.
👍
This is going to be my second bike in my garage. Not anytime soon but in a couple of years probably
👍
Enjoyed this interactive analysis and the unalloyed exuberance in both .. I think you both feel as excited as college going youths explaining the virtues of this bike as I felt during my heydays owing a RX 100 ❤
🙌
Flabbergasted on your review Sir. Spoke absolutely what I am feeling everyday riding my scrambler❤. On another note, yesterday I got a news that Triumph is planning a backrest and centre stand for Scrambler 400x. I hope it gets launched soon. I was in a need of backrest and hence purchased and assembled it, and later got the news. I purchased the one which sits on the OEM handlebars and hence we do not sacrifice the pretty grab handles. Hope the news will help others, so they can wait a couple of months and get the accessories, if at all the news is true.
👍👍👍
This gentle is so good with words n makes us understand everything
🙏
Get mine next month! This made me a lot happier about my choice.
Congrats
I ride a BS4 Duke 200, one thing I have to admit, after the test ride I could not feel that it's almost 30KGs heavier. The weight distribution is done brilliantly. The availability of torque gave me a big smile. Even though I'm 5'8" the height wasn't an issue for me.
Now I'm about to book it very soon.
👍
I am sold just by looking at your excitement :) Hopefully i like too and will own one this year.
Best wishes.
Got one myself, same colour as this one. Love every bit of my travel :). Agree with spot on review
Great to hear! Happy motorcycling. 👍
Many thanks for your comment. Cheers!
Thank you.
Keep rpm above 2,800 and shift accordingly.
Can't wait to get mine! I pre-ordered it without having tried it back in October, and it should finally be close to delivery here in Denmark
Congrats! Best wishes.
@@bigbearbangalore Thank you, and also thank you for these videos they help keep the spirits up while waiting 🙂
Now I am booking one. Thank you for the detailed review sir. ❤

👍
Great review 👏 👌 looks like all the seasoned motorcyclists are realising the value of mid capacity or lighter motorcycle are more practical and make more sense ,rather than heavy large capacity motorcycles. More fun ,more usable power, less maintenance cost and larger service network ,guess we are witnessing one of the best era in motorcycling with a wide range in choice and all made in 🇮🇳 motorcycles.
Many thanks.
If they can make a Tiger 400 , man that would be exciting 🎉
Indeed!
TS400x is unbridled in city traffic due to stalling issues continuously. And wide turning radius with spongy breaks for city over Himalayan 450. If they sort out these than weight is an advantage but you can reduce same in h450 as well.
👍
Bosky thanks for the video. Waiting for your comparison between scrambler 400x and himalayan 450..
Will do soon
Great review. There seems to be an issue with video at 17:50 where sound and video just hangs
20 second glitch with TH-cam I think. Sorry.
Cheers :)
Test ride and choose since you are on the heavier side. Seating comfort is important and is personal.
This statement sold it to me : Never missed the xpulse
👍
I have been confused what to buy for last one months, booked Scrambler 400x long back but never went to take the TD, himalayan 450 is never available for TD at most of the RE centres, Took TD for Scrambler, felt good ,No initial stalling great Exhaust Note, good punch, but size felt bit small, then went to look for KTM Adventure 390X( big fan till I rode) , delear arranged a customer bike for TD almost 2000 kms done 1st servicing done, still it stalled in 1st gear 2 times, the vibrations so much the console vibrates everytime you start the same
👍
One month with scram and my heart feels satisfied
👍
Waited for years for these kind of motorcycles to come out but now can't afford them😂😂.
🙏
Beautiful handling ..... Utuns are a bliss .........
Yes they are!
Thanks. Yes I guess you can do that.
I booked himalayan 450 & took trst ride & then took test rode of Trium scram 400x ... OMG sach trium was bestum , wheathers its tje feel or tje quality used in trium. Now i m goona goi t to cancel himalayan n wanna buy Scram trium
👍
Hello Bosky and CK, the review looked like a conversation (in a good way). I would like to know what mileage you are getting on this bike? I believe that was not discussed, please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks and keep up the good work 👍
Tha KS.
About 24 kmpl
Loved the commentary 😊
Glad you enjoyed.
The beasty does an awesome magic after 3 gear .......... ❤❤❤❤❤❤
👍
Great review Bosky. Got my Himalayan earlier last week and it seems like this is good at everything the himalayan is bad at. City rides, commute, low end torque, fit and finish. I do think they both heat up to a similar extend.
Do you not mind the vibrations at high revs? I found it very jarring especially since the bike is butter smooth at low revs.
Thanks. I would not say one is good at what the other is bad at. That too extreme. The purpose of for each is different. And I don’t find the buzz intrusive.
You should do a comparative of the ADV 390 and Trumph scrambler
Noted. We've done the 390Adv vs the H450 already.
Another good and honest review 👍
Please can you mention the brand/kind of mirrors you are having on the scrambler 400x and the cost

Million thanks for the great video Sir..
My pleasure. Thanks.
Love the reviews
🙏🏻
Hey do you stick to using XP95 on your scrambler or do you put regular as well?
I use only regular.
Genuinely speaking, except you only I think Sunmi's video about motorcycles makes some sense...though he talks so much about KTM 390, nevertheless. But you are at next level.
🙏
which channel? and I agree.

Oh god after watching this video the next coming week off I am going to the showroom that is 100 metres away from my home to take a test ride.
Have fun!
Great video. As you're riding scrambler with 835mm does it require to flatfoot on this bike generally? May I know your height if you don't mind
5'9"
Great review. I saw you did not mention highway touring as its strength. Could you please elaborate? What would be a comfortable cruising speed?
110 is ok to do. The seating is perched and fully open to wind blast hence highway touring is not it's strength. It's good but not great.
@@bigbearbangalore Thank you for the clarity
In Bangalore hearing that service centers are very lacking and disappointing, and I'm having second thoughts on buying it now
Ok and they will get better soon.
Bike kept stalling at low speeds which is SO IRRITATING 🤔
In my opinion, I would tell myself to wait for Triumph to come up with a 2.0 version negating the niggles..
There's no next video planned for the negatives.
Thanks for sharing yours. 👍
Almost any type of mod is possible. So you decide on it. Cheers!
Man, y'all love the motorcyle, great review! I notice that CK said he had issues with its highway performance, was wondering if you could elaborate on that?
Perched seating and exposed to wind blast.
Great video, Boss!

Heartfelt review! Loved it!
Sir what about the tyres?
I would assume that tyres also provide a significant differentiation from the Speed.
Could you share your thoughts?
Yes they are different. Street tyres on the Speed and multi purpose on the X.
Is this a bike that can do 500-700km in a day on the highway without providing much discomfort?
Congratulations on the bike. Happy and safe motoring.
I really thought you would buy a harley x440. Any reason for choosing triumph??
Suspension and what I wish to do with it. My next motorcycle will likely be the X440.
Bosky, now you have Himalayan 452 and ScramX…. Just a quick question-
What did your better half said after sitting on both the motorcycles, that will be one of a core point to consider 😊
H450 is preferred.
@@bigbearbangalore Anytime preference from better half is Himalayan 450🌷👍
Always prepared at 1st preference is RE Classic 350
Hello I thinking to buy this bike ,why did you say it's a bad on road bike? Are the vibrations that bad at say 100-120 or can we cruise comfortabley?
How is the vibrations @100 120 or 140 can you please elaborate. Thank you
Buy it! It's a great machine. On open highways at speeds above 110 kmph, the wind blast gets quite strong. That's the design of the motorcycle and not a defect. While it is possible to use this on the highway, we find it a bit tiring on long open stretches.
@@bigbearbangalore how are the vibrations sir?
May i know what are the things close to accurate in the instrument cluster?
Like trip meters, low fuel indicator, fuel levels etc?
All are approximations. After some use you'll get to understand the correlation.

I'm planning to go for old Himalayan 411 (not scram not 450) may be because of first sight love. Not using for adventure tour or Off road, will be using for regular use, for office. Some time I go for trekking, so it is helpful. What is ur suggestion? Ur thoughts pls 🙏
If you like it, buy it.
Should really make a comparison video of pros and cons with scrambler 400 and Himalayan 450.. pleaseeee

Heat is part of mid-size motorcycling.
@@bigbearbangalore thank you
Nice ride!! Do you think it is a good one for light touring? And did you had a pillion? How it is in duo? Thanx ✌️
Oh yes. Good for light touring. Haven't done much doubles but it should be good for a light pillion.
@@bigbearbangalore Thank you ✌️
How will the triumph be in its old age? 🤔 I mean mojo seemed promising when it launched (still is a masterpiece of a machine) but it has aged terribly! I am a one bike person and want to keep her forever! Please help me get out of this confusion shall I go with scrambler 400 or go safe with gurilla!!🙏🏻
I’d say it would age well and only time will tell.
Hello Bosky
Great content as always.
I’ve got a question for you which might be irrelevant for this video but your views really matter.
Apart from aspects like the value for money and service, would you consider buying Kawasaki Z650RS and still be able to feel close to what you’re feeling for 400X ?
Thanks.
For me one of the most important aspects when selecting a motorcycle is a long travel pliant suspension. And the Z is not that.
Many thanks. And noted and will check on this video. Thanks.
@bigbearbangalore Thank you so much sir..
