My favorite video by far. Respectfully done. It didn't take much imagination to visualize thousands of people milling about, praying to various Buddha statues, women in native costumes dancing with 10in long fingernails, music in the air......humbling.

Wonderful video with perfect choice of music. I'm not Buddhist or indeed religious at all but looking at the seated Buddha always induces a feeling of calm and serenity. Strange. I think this may be your best trip yet, thanks for bringing us along.

You allways manage to bring a tear to my eye with your sound tracks, especially when you visit a place that I have been to,the thai dialect thing must be the same as it is in most countries, england has the same thing with different accents in the same county, and then throw in Scottish/irish/welsh Geordie/somerset/cornwall and its only the skilled ear that can understand the language,[same in the usa] I guess,.i cant wait until I retire in Thailand in December this year, keep the quality vids coming, and look after the "selfie" queen,......

Dejavu... We had lunch at the Coffee Cup back in 2009. Loved rambling around Sukhothai. We found that a tuk-tuk was ideal to circumnavigate. We have been wintering in Thailand / SEasia every year since 1995. We are home in Victoria Canada for the last 3 winters providing elder care for my 97yr father-inlaw.
So we love being onboard with youse guys as you head off on your "fun days" or just hang out and voyeur everyday life in Thailand from a farang's perspective. Chuck, enjoying your daily language lessons/pointers.
Chuck, you seem to have mastered the art of 'mai pen lai' that eludes so many farangs.
KKK (kob kune krap) the Paige and yourself... Next time we're in Thailand we will try to liaise.
Pop gun mai, krap... Cowboy Bob & Bonanza Jellybean.

HEY CHUCK AND PAIGE, CHUCK, I MUST SAY THAT OF ALL THE VIDEOS I HAVE SEEN THAT YOU HAVE MADE, THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVORITE. YOU CAUGHT THE ESSENCE OF THE HISTORY OF THE AREA. THE MUSIC WAS WONDERFUL AND PERFECT FOR WHAT YOU SHOWED. OF COURSE HAVING A DEGREE IN HISTORY I WAS VERY INTERESTED IN THIS OLD AREA. I ONLY KNEW ABOUT THE OLD CAPITAL CITY OF AYUTTHAYA SO I THINK I NEED TO DO A LITTLE MORE RESEARCH. LOL I AM GOING TO SHARE THIS VIDEO ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE TO SHOW MY FRIENDS AROUND THE WORLD WHAT THAILAND IS REALLY LIKE. YOU MAY EVEN GET A FEW MORE SUBSCRIBERS OUT OF IT.
I FOUND IT QUITE QUITE INTERESTING THAT THE WATER WELLS AND OTHER DEEP PITS IN THE GROUND DIDN'T HAVE A METAL GRATE OVER THEM. I GUESS THERE KIDS ARE SMART ENOUGH TO KNOW NOT TO JUMP DOWN THE HOLE. LOL
I ALSO LIKED THAT ROOM YOU GUYS STAYED IN AND NOT A BAD PRICE, INCLUDING A BREAKFAST. I'M DEFINITELY GONNA HAVE TO CONSIDER GOING TO THIS CITY.

Fantastic places! I think I will have to try and get there on my forthcoming trip. This place looked fairly 'Falang friendly', but would you think the area generally is good for a Thailand 'novice' and non Thai speaker, travelling on his own, to get about and find accommodation etc?
I don''t want to create work for you, but your 'word of the day' is very helpful! Any chance of including the word, and a pronunciation guide, in the description?

Hi Chuck and Paige, very beautiful place in Sukhothai of ancient history. Hey you guys will be going to Lampang next, that's my home town, to be bad I'm not there, other wise I would show you guys around. try this one restaurant call Aroy One Baht, it's really good. Do not stay in hotels in the city center, very noisy at night with loud motor bike. There are hotels across from the Big C, with really good accommodation. Happy traveling and Chok do na kap.

Very nice look at the ancient capital, europeans described it as the venice of the east, more magnificent than london or paris of the day, before the the Burmese razed it to the ground. I had the pleasure of attending the king Narisuan anniversary last week. he liberated Ayutthaya from the Burmese occupiers.
