I own a seltos and i don't like the built quality, but it has awesome performance and mileage.. so its people perspective to buy their first car and we can't intervene to advise him.. youtuber did his job well as usual
I have booked kia carens 1.4 DCT petrol engine on 14/4/2022 and i got car in my hand on 15/7/2022 (90days). And i got milage of of 19 kmpl on city and 25.6 kmpl on highway. Max i will drive in cruise control with speed of 65kmph.
Milage depends on how we drive. I won't do rash drive or sudden cruise.

Everyone is underestimating Triber and spending excess 5-6 lakh which can't be justified for gimmicks. I own Triber it does not power lag below 80kmph. Moreover steering is super light and good to drive

I own carens petrol manual Turbo. So far driven 6k kms . I get 14 to 16 mileage in highway and within city it is between 10 to 12.
10:42 & 10:51 90kmph fast than bro.. global NCAP rating kudukurathe 64 kmph speed ku.. andha speed ke 3 star na.. verum 6 airbags la use illa.. vandi structural rigidity yum matter aguthu... so 6 airbag irunthalum 3star rated na 90+kmph la vandi appalam mari nuringidum
If you are going for Carens, go only for Diesel manual as first choice and Diesel auto as second choice. Diesel manual is extremely good in my opinion

I think in 14 lakhs onroad he could have gone in for Ertiga top end manual and it will give him an average mileage of 12-13 kms in city & 15-16 kms in highways, also he will get alloy wheels, cruise control, automatic head lamps, rain sensing vipers, hill hold assist with ESP, keyless entry, turning radius is only 5.2 m and updated K15C 4 cylinder engine...not a big fan of turbo because once some problem arrives after 4 years time, expenses will be very high. He is calling ertiga as taxi because of the old diesel which is stopped now. The new k15C engine is butter smooth and very silent. Except it has only 4 airbags....the only con because Karen's has got 6 airbags. Otherwise ertiga will beat carens hands down and it is also very easy to park the ertiga when compared to carens. Take a test drive of the latest ertiga and you will understand what I mean.
Exactly my thought. I bought Ertiga ZXI + MT couple of months back for the same reason . I too not a great fan of Turbo. So far 2500 kms done at an average of 14 kmpl including city/highway. It also comes with Geo fencing, GPS, Remote lock from phone , etc.. through Suzuki Connect. Though it is short of 2 air bags than Carens , the safety is not determined by that alone.
Recently maruti has hiked the rates exorbitantly without valid grounds

@@chandrasekaransivanaiah4932 The newer model ertiga (2022) comes with 4 airbags in zxi+, hill hold assist with ESP in all manual variants which is very important and automatic headlamps with rain sensing vipers in zxi+, Suzuki smart play Pro connect which includes tyre pressure monitoring system, updated front grill. These are some of the changes for the hike in 2 lakhs price in newer models (2022). Automatic gear version now gets paddle shifters with 6 speed gear.

I own 1.4 turbo I get 15 km in city and 18 on highway, Initially I was getting only 11 around ..once I cross 5000 km bit improved now.
How about suspension. I own dct Caren n feel stiffer side

It's really surprising that many new car owners say that they don't drive fast ... and do only 100 or 120kmph with a smile! Please make them aware that there are hardly any highway where you can do 100 or 120kmph as per the NHAI speed limits in Tamilnadu and inform them to drive as per the speed limits of the specific highway / road and over speeding is a traffic violation which you can't encourage in a public forum with a smile. Both xl6 and ertiga full load la highway la 80-90 kmph la cruise pannumbothu 18 kmpl must ah kidaikum . Sharp ah 80 kmph la pona 20 kmpl definite ah kudukuthu . Ithanaikum naturally aspirated than .

Please give awareness about usage of highbeam and fog lamps. Most of them using in wrong way. Most of them using off road lights in city traffic.

I dont have a car, I ride bike only, but I'm seeing lot of people who drives the Car are using mobiles while driving and some accidents have happened in recent times. I m having the same car prestige turbo engine using it for past 3months, i m getting 10.3-11km in city and 13.7 to 14.8 in highways with full loaded i have taken three times for Chennai to Kumbakonam with full loaded.

I too own carens prestige MT petrol varient ...i agree with each and every thing this person said..its 100 percent what I feel too...mine is non turbo variant..sometimes u feel the power surge is not enough...i got 18 to 20kmpl in highway in full load condition

If petrol Xl6 facelift is best choice now 1.5 cc and 6 speed AT and regarding features Kia higher end only you can get all features.
Wrong judgement about milage!! I own Luxury+ 1.4 turbo petrol manual varient and I get 12-13 kmpl in Chennai city bumper to bumper traffic. With full load of 7 adults about 200 kms travel I got 15 kmpl milage last week. Overall I have driven 2000+ kms in last two months in my new Carens.
Previously I owned Hyundai i10 for 12 years and I have driven 1.25 lakhs kms. Very spacious and very practical choice if budget is around Rs.12 lakhs to Rs.20 lakhs.

I booked Kia Carens 1.5 Petrol Prestige variant around April 2022 in Coimbatore. Initially they told 43 weeks wait time and Car would approximately delivered around January 2023. Now the show room said the delivery will be further delayed and I might get the car around April 2023.

Kia strategy is initially to book for entry levels like 1.5 petrol but wen customer delivery for next variant like Turbo or Diesel, waiting period is for brainwashing customer to buy next level variants of car,
If possible change your choice to Diesel. Diesel is much better than petrol variant

The main drawback of this varient is headlight power in highways
And milage in cities.
I got 10 kmpl in bumper to bumper traffic and in normal traffic 13kmpl and in highways 15 to 18kmpl

10 kmpl in bumper traffic and 13 in normal traffic is pretty decent for a 1.4l engine and that too with turbo... Even 1.2 litre engines delivers mileage more or less in this range only

Definitely over time Carens will give better mileage. I own Diesel and recently drove to Trichy (to and fro) with my wife and daughter, it gave me mind-blowing 22 km/l mileage. I have taken photo of mileage for proof

If it is not a bumper to bumper traffic I get around 11.5 kmpl and in highways if the rpm is less than 2000, I get around 15 to 16 Kmpl with 6 persons.. If the Rpm increases in highways the mileage gets reduced drastically to 13..
Vary comfortable for driving and riding also in highways.. can easily get around 120 kmph in highways and the speed is not felt inside..

XL 6 is good value for money for 15-16L budget. Alpha variant pretty much ticks most of the boxes what new age cars comes with. Carens 1.4 T Prestige variant misses key features like Alloy wheels, LED lamps, Cruise control, Keyless…. (Something top of my mind) if you do paper to paper comparison you will get to know. If you have budget around 17-18L Carens Luxury will be good buy. For 15-16L XL 6 is value for money. And end of the day “Maruthi”
I got XL 6 end of July drove around 1200km it’s jus pure class, Maruthi engineer tuned Smart Hybrid beautifully. I’m getting 13kmpl inside city.
