The best way to avoid an inspection at a weigh station, where they have ALL the equipment to thoroughly go over your rig, is to go around the flipping scale. I went from Shitcago to El Pisso, and didn't get inspected once. Know why? I avoided every damn scale on the way. In general, you can't dodge all of them, but the ones you can, you should. They are out to make money off your hillbilly ass, so don't help them by going through their shithouses.
If you can't or won't put forth the effort to learn how to inspect your vehicle and keep track of the paperwork required to do your job maybe the fast food, construction or other trade might be your calling. Remember, the job title is Professional Truck Driver.
@weejams I saw a flight. Hey patrol pull over a Orange Grove semi into a pilot did DOT INSPECTION right there had 2 loose lug nuts 3000lbs. Over maybe more stuff then another orange truck went by even more oranges lol $100 to tighten 2 nuts another driver said pilot is private property and recorded it but inspection continued.
After the glad hand inspection you are instructed to put your thumb in your bum and your mind in neutral, then sign on the dotted line indicating that you found nothing broken, bent or cracked, and that your load is secure.
you can do all this on every pre trip, but a lot can happen during a trip, such as a brake pad cracking, nail in tire, airline getting a air leak ect. Basically, its bullshit that they ding you for little things that arent life and death but merely something that could've happened in route and need to get fixed. amd if you still arent convinced its a scam, its illegal to stop before a weigh station to check your truck, yep thats right. Ive been trucking for many years and unless you have a brand new truck, it cost a small fortune to fix every little this and that every week.
yes this is the idiot surplus...this other stupidity the pre inspection videos!is not reallyti!i drive 111000lbs gross semi tipper in hungary.I'm leaving morning 4 hour .pre trip inspect:oil and cooling water level insp.started the engine.while producing the air until them cca 5 minute....i look the 12 tyres and the light all vehicle..brake air and airspring level ok and go....thats all cca 6-8 minute all morning.....not complete technicaly inspection..
At the scale... When you get the OK to return to hwy. Instead of merging back to freeway following the loop to the inspection bay. Pull to the door with the green light. Knock on the door really hard. When the officer opens the door. Just politely ask him for a 2 new stickers! They'll assist you with that.

If you have to break the seal. Get the inspector to sign all bills of lading.

Farm trucks do not have inspections, some of the unmaintained dirty trucks on the road.
Nobody should have to have that much paperwork just to do a job. Doctors don't need that much paper work to cut you open.

Make sure you do a good assisting the officer in giving you a ticket. Complete violation of your constitutional rights.
