his mandarin is at the right level for me.. i only took the basic levels in mandarin but I speak canto at home so there's certain words that I can understand.. and of course, context really helps too. the lady who sold him tea definitely spoke canto... she was totally pronouncing the names of the teas in canto. MAN, I should just live in china and learn mandarin and I'll be able to communicate to Chinese people so much better.
