The thing is he subconsiously sealed his True Power and then later sealed it even further with his Eyepatch if he would fight to win instead of fighting for the fun of it every fight would be over in seconds cause he is just broken Overpowered. Remember for most of Bleach he was sealed, constantly drained is Spiritual Pressure with the Eyepatch and couldnt even use Shikai or Bankai if you remove all limits he would probly end up like Whitebeard with everyone refering to him as the Man with the Power to destroy the World. [With the tiny difference that Whitebeard could create Earthquakes thanks to his DF meanwhile Kenpachi creates those with Brute Force no Superpowers or anything xD]
The fact that Toshiro achieved bankai and became a captain at a much younger age than Kenpachi (I’m sure he didn’t become captain until he was a grown man) shows that he’s a child prodigy, so don’t downplay Toshiro.

That's not ENTIRELY true. Yamamoto actually insisted that Zaraki learn proper swordsmanship and forced him to learn Kendo, but gave up on the idea after only one day. Why? Because the simple act of Zaraki learning to properly swing a sword with both hands caused such a drastic difference in his abilities that the Central 46 actually banned Yamamoto from trying to teach Zaraki further for fear of how strong he could become. It also says a lot that Yamamoto still insisted that no Soul Reaper stronger than him had been born in 1,000 years despite seeing the potential Zaraki had.

Gremmy lost for the same reason that Takamura struggled against Hawk at first; he had never fought somebody that was truly strong. Kenpachi had hundreds of life and death struggles, and in fact reveled in it (and then thousands more against the first Kenpachi) but Gremmy's abilities were so absurd that weaker opponents could only be toyed with. At the very least if he had fought and struggled prior he would likely have produced an army of clones that he used to launch drone attacks while his main body remained safely hidden away somewhere. He would have also known that imagination becomes a weakness when you not only acknowledge your opponent, but fear them as well.
The two fighters are on opposite sides of the raw power v.s. broken ability chart. Kenpatchi is raw power personified. Gremy literally has reality warping powers. Kenpatchi won because Gremy couldn't just instantly kill him and had no experience fighting.

As soon as Yachiru was In trouble Kenpachi came in like a father about to help a poor defenseless boy learn what it means to be given a fatherly beat down for hurting is daughter. Lovely animation and hope you keep enjoying making these for years to come.
This was incredible. Tells a really good story without saying anything. The visuals painted the script. Got to see Kenny's motivations. Combat, saving his battle bro, raising the next kenpanchi. Then you missed the entire point of what gremmy said to Zaraki as he died. Gremmy said he saw Zaraki as a monster but wanted that monsters power and his V stritt allows his to copy or create that power that's inside Zaraki. Gremmy saw Zaraki true potential power and it destroyed his body. That's what killed him. If you're patient you'll see Zaraki can't use his full power either

Kenpachi is one of the greatest characters in manga and anime of all time until now. Most intense character put on ink, props to Gatts and Gon.
