In my first absolutely blind play through I chose the revolution, because peace had not worked well that far. On my second play through I chose the demonstration while trying to get everyone their happy ending. Got the survivors thropy :)

I knew a couple of people who peacefully demonstrated and were shot. I mean not on the spot but they still got shot. People specially on the top had to be greedy and ruthless to be there. To think that they're going to give up their power just because somebody asked nicely is stupid. Sure maybe they still have a good part in their heart but that is very unlikely. Just look at our history and see what it has to say about this question.

I was taught by games to choose pacifist route cause "violence bad",but one time i tried revolution and also failed as Kara ,and were sent with Luther and Alice to camp #5, then after findging out that :
1)RALPH is also in that camp
And
2)revolution immediately saves Kara and Alice
Means that only revolution cane save Ralph and A LOT OF other androids we met on Karas way:in eyes of humans,demonstration is more rational
But as for androids,revolution is better as it works, and we are witness of it
For my opinion the good ending is markus wins demostration kara gets captured and saved by markus and deviant connor saves hank and the androids

Peaceful ending is, maybe the less realistic, but the one that will work on large scale, because if you won in the revolution, you do not won your liberty at all, you just take one camp (I do not know if the other camps where also taken) , and also the president Warren did not want to negociate for the androids equal rights, and they will fight them. If the androids continue fighting, they will be defeated by humans at some point, the Androids will not defeat all the USA army. Markus even sais it, "It is the beggining of a war", that will not be the last fight, but in demonstration, the possibility of androids being accepted is closer than in revolution, so maybe demonstration is less realistic, but on large scale, it will work
I know this video didn't have this part but would detonating the dirty bomb also kill the other characters? I'm assuming most of the city would go, including Hank, Kara & Alice (if they're in the camps)
If Carl is still alive, it would kill him as he can't be moved easily and the family on the bus and anyone still in Detroit will be in mortal danger if they don't evacuate fast.

No lol what's not believable about singing? It's one of the rawest methods of showing emotion out there. The entire peaceful run is all about proving the androids are truly alive and want simple co-existance.

I prefer the revolution ending a bit more just because it seems like a more realistic outcome. I doubt that a country so hellbent on destroying a group of people would stop after signing a song. It makes more sense to fight and win a battle, but begin a war. Yeah it’s not as heart warming but truthful
They didn’t stop just because you sang a song. They stopped because the end result was that the Public Opinion was Supportive. If you didn’t keep doing relatively peaceful protests across the city, and you ended up with a public opinion less than Supportive, the military kills them all.

I find it very hard to believe that the powers that be saw a chance of erradicating a rebellious groups without repercution (what would the supportive humans be able to do besides mourn?), they would would not shoot. No pacific demonstration ever got change because their oppressors actually self-reflected, they did so because attacking a pacific population in broad daylight would look bad, and would incite everyone else against you -- none of which were implied as a possibility if the police had shoot them down.

Both are the right choices. I prefer revolution over demonstration. In demonstration ending, it seems like they could finish off the androids but spared them because the public opinion has been moved. And because Connor is returning with thousands of androids. Its like, it happened out of pity and androids owe it to them.
But in revolution path, the androids achieved their liberty by themselves. They don't owe anything to anyone.

Vaze Well I don't think so, but here at this case its not actually being loved. Public opinion is moved and also Connor is arriving with so many androids, this is why the President told them to back off. It seems more like out of pity than giving them freedom from kindness of heart. Like, "You got your freedom without even fighting. It happened because of us, we totally cornered you and could kill you right at that moment if we wanted. But we spared you as public loves you. If you ever try to cross us or public, we'll end you. You're alive because of them. You owe it to them. Be grateful to them. Don't ever do anything that will disappoint us."
So to me, its better to get our freedom by ourselves rather than this.

Tom Kwong Haven't watched that movie. But what I think is, its better to be loved than feared. This is why I prefer to keep it peaceful in whole game. But at the end, I prefer revolution. Only because humans have kept taking advantage of our pacifism, they kept harming and killing us while we never have done any single harm to them. Now they attack Jericho, kill and capture thousands of our people.
This time, letting them get away with it so easily is foolish imo. Too much pacifism or violence - both aren't right. This time, letting them have it peacefully but then winning means they could kill us but they're not doing it, as our actions have gained their pity. So if we ever disappoint them, they can regret not killing us. They will feel like they gave us freedom, we didn't achieve it by ourselves.

The best ending is playing Markus as a pacifist but choose to lead the revolution in the end, you'll still have enough public support. The overall outcome for the androids is actually better if they choose to fight, they take over Detroit and humans are forced to acknowledge androids as a new species, whereas in the demonstration ending the line is that humans 'may' need to consider them as new species. The freedom they earn in the pacifist route is only temporary, the human troop simply retreated and even the ending is called 'androids won their freedom FOR THE MOMEMT'

There's a reason I like both routes, cause there really isn't a "correct" option.
Revolution: Karl said it himself, history is decided by the victors. If the humans win, they will just write this off as just a time machines were out of control and not as a sentient lifeform. Humans are violent by nature, unwilling to change unless the right sort of motivation is given. Revolution is one such motivation, as it makes it clear that whether you wanna believe they are just machines or not, they are smart enough to fight for what they believe in. They have the intelligence, resilience and tenacity to make it work, like any other successful revolution in human history. Thus making it clear the humans have one of two options, accept the fact they are a new life form and work with them. Or, continue to deny it and go to war with a very dangerous threat. (Which is basically what will happen by default with the dirty bomb)
Demonstration: As many have said, violence only leads to more violence so taking the peaceful route is seen by many as the best option. But is it really? By being peaceful, you allow the deaths of thousands to happen. You choose to not fight back but instead, remain pacifistic for the sake of spreading a message. While this seems like a really bad idea it does do one thing. Display the ugliness of humankind for ALL to see. Humans don't wanna believe we are violent by nature, but when shown how far they will go, they may very well be willing to think twice about whether they aren't becoming the monsters themselves. Cause who's the real monster? The machine who became sentient fighting for what they believe in, or the human who put a gun to someone's face when they weren't gonna fight back and pulled the trigger?
Revolution or Demonstration. No matter the option, there's positives and negatives to both.
That’s why I like the war ending the most, cause if you go down, you go down a fighter and the president comes to terms that they are people if you win

Cuz who else but a sentient being could organize such large demonstrations and exhibit such incredible pacifism, in the face of aggression and ignorance. A "machine" wouldn't fully comprehend these concepts. A sentient being with free thinking and thought would.
There's one perspective I never see: government is the one oppressing the androids more than all humans in general are. I'm not saying that will make the androids magically spare humans just because there's a distinction (the androids might not care), but it's a possibility.
Look all I want to know is can Kara Alice and Luthor make it to Canada safely if I revolt. That's all I want.
@@PHIllip324 I noticed that the raids that you lead minimize civilian casualties but unsupervised Androids often go killing civilians (read from in game magazines, unless they are providing misinfo which is a possibility). This reflects reality because you will always have some insubordination in your ranks or lack of discipline. There are good humans so killing civilians is really just adding fuel to the fire. I wanted to only kill when necessary which I did but public opinion still went down as if I started the war. It doesn't matter though because less people died revolting than demonstrating but if I can get that and still have Kara squad safe then I'll be happy.

The best option is depending on where Kara and Alice are.
If Kara is at the border then the demonstration is the better option because you don't have to sacrifice anyone to get across the boarder. If Kara and Alice are captured and brought to the camp then the revolution is the better option because you don't have to sacrifice anyone to escape just use the androids from Zlatko to creating a diversion to join Alice in line.
I know I'm late, but if Kara, Alice and Luther were on the boat, then neither option is fruitful because both the demonstration and revolution options have no positive effects on the trio.

To make someone do your bidding, sometimes you’ll have to target their fear and use it to your advantage. Using the fear of death, loneliness, grief, etc. is a good way to force something out, be it an action…or the want of rebellion.
Take what the soldiers said to the deviants during the peaceful demonstration as an example: “Do not continue or we will open fire.”
Immerse yourself in that scenario. Would you risk your life to further your cause or would you back down for self-preservation? Be honest, I know most people don’t have the conviction to give their life for the sake of a greater impact to society. Even so, doesn’t it make you angry? Aren’t you mad that these soldiers are trying to restrain you with the fear of death? When I first saw this, I was. These people, too, acted out of fear - fear of losing their job for failing this mission, fear of suddenly being pushed off the top of the evolutionary chain and being seen as an inferior species compared to androids. In the end, fear was what drove these people and deviants to do these things. Fear led to anger, anger led to hatred blablabla, you get the message.
In history, dictators used this fear to get what they wanted as well and because of that fear, people revolted, so these dictators used even more fear, all just to quell and restrain what they feared the most - losing their power. Even so, the results of ruling a nation in tyranny were good too. This fear motivated people to work harder against their will, putting everything they had just to prevent their fears from coming true, and in turn, their nation flourished. Germany became powerful during the Great Depression, the US and the USSR became two global superpowers during the Cold War, the Philippines’s economy grew exponentially during the time of Marcos, I don’t know a lot about history but I’m pretty sure there are more examples to prove what I’m saying here.
Oh, and how about when your parents disciplined you? In order to get you to do something, they had to use your fear to drive you to action, right? “Do your homework or else”, “Talk back to me and I’m grounding you for a week”, “Clean the room or I’ll take away your laptop” and whatnot. This also applies to school and jobs as well. “Take notes or you will fail”, “You better get this done otherwise I’m firing you”, “Change your attitude or else we’ll kick you out” etc. Let’s extend it to love interests and marital issues, shall we? “If you don’t start cooking, I’ll fucking beat you up!”, “Hey! Get me some beer or I’ll smack your head off!”, “You better pay the bills or I’m leaving you!”, “Let’s see how you like it when I’ll leave you rotting in that couch like the lonely sack of shit you are!”, the list just goes on and on and on…
But how does this relate to choosing between revolution or peaceful demonstration?
Look back to the dictator paragraph. It would be safe to assume that these people fear what androids could do once they were given free will, right? It’s not entirely irrational. It would be like seeing your pet dog giving in to their primal instinct and suddenly start eating your family because it feels that it is more superior and powerful than their owner/s. That would be something you would be scared of, wouldn’t it? You _fear_ that it might happen, so you would want to take better care for your pet. Once humans lose their control over what they created, they start fearing them until the time comes when the tables would turn and the humans would revolt against their authority just to regain supremacy. This quest for power would be an endless cycle of bloodshed and violence.
Seems like revolution’s a bad idea, right?

Both choices aren’t bad ideas, but if you want change - if you want to shift the balance of power, use the power of fear. Make your opponents fear you. Fear controls us to do both great and horrible things, like starting wars, arguments, great structures like the Great Wall of China, and many more. Some of these androids know that humans are afraid of them and losing their authority, all it takes is to challenge them and show them what androids are truly capable of, then watch as they cower in fear.
That isn’t to say, that things couldn’t be sorted out peacefully. Maybe if the two can come to some sort of mutual understanding, there wouldn’t need to be any more killings or war.
Too bad, reality has proven time and time again that mutual understanding is something that can’t exist. Even within the deviants there are some conflicts in opinions or decisions. Forcing your authority or ideals upon them will force them to understand your goals and follow…
And what better way to force something to happen, than *_revolution?_*

Revolution means war. Which is all well and good, if you can with that war. Can the androids win against human military once it becomes determined to destroy them? You use examples of dictators and parents employing fear, but those have the power to enforce that fear. If the androids paint themselves and violent rogue machines that need to be feared, they will become a clear threat and unfortunately for them the humans have the edge in that regard.

@@dtrezy5223 personally I don't play the game based on future consequences. I consider the best ending is the one that makes the most sense considering the current situation each character is in. I do believe that the most logic course for Markus is to at first trying to be peaceful (when possible, which means he can lose it a little now and again) at the beginning, and ending releasing at the Freedom March (no matter how you decide to play it) that being peaceful only get his people killed and then Markus becomes angrier towards the humans and ends up doing a revolution.

I love quantic dream games, some say "It's just an intaractive movie" I say ! it's a hard game, hard to do choices without know if you do it right or not. Got some transpiration in front of heavy rain and a lot of stress. That was not pleasant but that was something !

Even people like Gandhi screwed his own people out of forging their own destiny, still dominated by foreign interest to this day. And the majority of blacks and other minorities in the USA are not only still screwed, they are more screwed than ever before statistically speaking. No great liberation or lasting change has ever accomplished without directly decimating the power structure which enforces a backwards status quo. At best, with the "peaceful" crap, you end up with second class citizen compromises, and that to me is no fucking "revolution" at all. Slavery was not abolished without wars from the masses, feudalism was not abolished without wars from the masses, even modern day republics required wars involving the sympathy of the masses to become established. And someone an entire new species from humans is expected to have it much easier than humans throughout thousands of years of _human history_ do get anything done? I don't think so.

Not only that. Androids in revolution path would have slowly became a very violent and power hungry race. Revolutionaries often turn into worse tyrants than the ones they defeat. It's logical because to lead and fuel a revolution you must make people fanatize with your idea of "freedom". It's like a religion and once those zealot fuckers reach power, they would act and rule with the same irrational and impulsive attitudes.
Can you make a video about the revolution with all the options including getting the grenade.
Overall I definitely prefer the demonstration ending. My only issue with it is when Markus says that the time for anger is over and everyone must now forgive. Forgiveness is a process, you can't set a day that someone has to forgive by! That sounds like what the post game humans would say. Forgiveness doesn't count for much if it's available on demand, the humans will have to prove themselves going forward.
Just imagine if the soldiers shoot the androids and be like “mission accomplished”
I played peacefull cause i thought it'd be cooler but damn look at Markus! He obviously has the John Wick DLC installed...
