- This is for Zaf, my favorite character in "Spooks".
Zaf is tough, loyal, always calm but never cold. He is so sweet and adorable...
The way they killed him off nearly devastated me.
(By the way, can someone tell me why MI5 has anything to do with assassinating an Iranian spy in Tehran? It's 6's job isn't it?? )

Brilliant character and some great clips. The most unjustified exit from spooks ever.
One of, if not, the best character I ever saw on Spooks.
Zaf was captured by a group of mercenaries called the Red Backs who specialised in torturing spys. After they had got enough information out of him,they sold him onto some extremist groups in Pakistan who continued to torture him for their own purposes. The final cause of death was due to ligature. Pretty sure his dead body turned up at the embassy in one piece but he couldn't be identified even from dental records. Pretty brutal stuff. Wish his character had had a better departure than that tho
Zaf is my favorite character too. Although Adam comes in at a REALLY close second. And I have the hots for them both. And Tom. And Lucas......
Good to know I'm not the only one who fell in love with them all chronologically.

Your description of Zaf is right on the money. I just finished watching season 6 (got all the DVDs thru season 6), and I was appalled by the way they killed off the character. Loved your tribute btw.
Still miss this show.

THANKS!Enjoyed video montage/music.Still being shown in the USA.We don't often see many Indian/Pakistanis on TV here & it's a shame they killed him off so soon & tragically.Nor do we often get to see/meet either ethnicity here & most are portrayed as either impoverished/uneducated or as terrorists.First time I saw this adorable man I kept coming back for more Zaf.Hope Raza knows how much he/his role have done to dispel ethnic stereotypes.Would date someone like him in an instant.Such a catch!

i loved Spooks, stayed till the very end. i loved Lucas & Demitri but Zaf followed very closely by Adam were my faves. thankfully we didn't see Zaf die because Adams death had me in bits. God only knows what I'd been like if we'd seen Zaf meet his maker!
Its basically tying a thread or a thin wire around a limb or a part of the body to restrict blood flow.

I carn't remember exactly but I think his body came back in a duffel bag in bits, something in my mind tells me that Harry mentioned it at some point. It was a poor ending for such a fantastic character, I think.
