I used to play neoclassical metal, but i am seriously thinking to switch to jazz fusion because i like a lot Casiopea, watching these covers gives me a lot energy to play this genre, for my is difficult.
I've been listening to CASIOPEA since my teens, but there weren't many of their songs I could play. When I was younger, I used to practice a lot of Steve Vai, MR.BIG, and VAN HALEN. I tried Yngwie Malmsteen too, but it was too difficult for me. It wasn't until my mid-30s that I started playing in a CASIOPEA cover band and began practicing their songs seriously, gradually increasing the number of songs I could play. I think playing hard rock when I was younger helped me be able to play CASIOPEA's music. Don't worry, if you practice, you'll surely be able to play it too.👍

Yes, this is Noro's signature model. I know Jimbo-san's drumming style, so it is easy to MIDI program him, but for this album, Mr. Sasaki was the drummer, so it was difficult to analyze.

I quickly grew fond of CASIOPEA’s music, but I could only play a few of their songs. In my twenties, I played a lot of hard rock music. In my mid-thirties, I joined a CASIOPEA cover band and practiced intensively, which increased the number of songs I could play. For difficult phrases, I practiced by slowing the tempo down to half speed and gradually speeding it up. If you keep at it without giving up, I believe you will be able to play them someday too.👍
This is fantastic. Super cool to see this pulled off by a human (I think!). Super useful for also learning the bass accompaniment and seeing what the keys are doing as well. Going to have to give this one a try but definitely have to do some serious warming up to digest this and attempt to play along. Also, love the guitar of course. Do you have a recommendation on which songs might be easier to start with from Casiopea? Not that any of them are easy...

I'm not good at fighting or competing, so battling demons is definitely out of the question 😁. The guitar solo in this song has fast phrases, so I practiced by playing it at half speed until I could do it accurately. Once I got the hang of it, I gradually increased the tempo step by step. I believe that steady, incremental practice is the fastest way to improve. In addition, I've been playing guitar for nearly 40 years, and I think my progress is also due to practicing various genres such as fusion, folk, rock, and hard rock.

I didn't know of that one, now I do thanks to you! seeing the VST keyboard setup I assume this is one of the earliest songs from the late 70s before Minoru switched to DX7? I wonder do you play the other parts live as well (keys/bass/drum?)
That's right, Swallow is on the first album. All the parts except for the guitar are programmed in Midi. When I was a teenager, I also practiced drums, bass, and keyboards occasionally, but I never improved. I can't be a multi-player like you, but with the help of computers, I am able to realize a virtual one-man band.

I think it is beyond the selling price at the time of its release.I got it used 15 years ago and it was not in good condition. I ordered a bridge and P.U. from YAMAHA and sent it to repair to straighten the neck and refret.

野呂さんが余りにも天才過ぎて、司会屋実とサクちゃんが『野呂さん、早死にするんじゃないか?』って当時本気で心配してたって逸話を思い出しました。
私は1983頃、野呂さんヒゲもじゃでしたから渡辺香津美さんと区別が出来てなかった…(笑)。
このソロは本当に練習したので、練習し過ぎな感じが出てますね。野呂さんの弾き方はもう少しネチっとした感じでしょうか。それでいてバンドアンサンブル的にはスピード感があって、私の演奏もテンポは同じなんですが、スピード感が足りないんですよね。やはり、本物は違います。
野呂さんについての逸話は初めて聴きました。当時から、ちょっと他の人とは違ったんですね。

そうですね。お気に入り曲は定番でも挑戦してみようと思います。
Swallowはスコアを持っています。ギター以外はSimile~が多いですが(笑)何もないよりは足がかりがあるだけマシですが、それでも日々、少しずつ違いを直していました。ベースが一番聞き取りにくかったです。
Flyingも挑戦したいですね~♪

The sheet music for this song was published 40 years ago. I got it second hand. There are quite a few mistakes in the scoring, so I corrected them by listening to it over and over again.

That's right, Swallow is on the first album. All the parts except for the guitar are programmed in Midi. When I was a teenager, I also practiced drums, bass, and keyboards occasionally, but I never improved. I can't be a multi-player like you, but with the help of computers, I am able to realize a virtual one-man band.

The VST instruments used are the Stage-73 V and CS-80 V from ARTURIA. I practiced a lot to play this piece.😄

It's a YAMAHA SG-I. It's a signature model of Issei Noro, and it was released almost 30 years ago.

I'm using a Line6 Helix LT. In it, I choose Soldano SLO-100, BOSS SD-1 Overdrive, and Flanger.

I think it is beyond the selling price at the time of its release.I got it used 15 years ago and it was not in good condition. I ordered a bridge and P.U. from YAMAHA and sent it to repair to straighten the neck and refret.

No, I only played the guitar. For the other instruments, I did the Midi program myself.

我が家にオープンデッキあったので必殺半速でコピーしました。
途中プリズムに傾倒し和田アキラのソロも難なくコピーできました。(笑)
今は指がつります…
それとこの曲はSG-I(音がスカスカなので)よりSG-2000の方が音色は良いと思います。
