Another pleasant video, Clive. I would like to get to Frome someday, especially by train, as I have ancestors from nearby - Babington and Kilmersdon (which lays claim to Jack and Jill and their tumble down the hill). I've been to both places from Bath via automobile, but I've noted previously that Frome is closer, has a train station (which I didn't know was so interesting), and just by its size and location, thought it looks a lot more laid back than Bath. BTW, how was lunch? Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your comment. I didn't have lunch at Platform One as they didn't have a good range on offer. I went to Café la Strada in the town centre, which was very good. Wonderful ice cream to finish!
From your use of stock photos, I have a feeling you didn't walk into the centre of Frome. It isn't far, and you missed a treat. It is a lovely little town.
Thanks for your comment. I did indeed go into Frome, and my bank statement shows that I had lunch at a place called Café la Strada which is on the corner of the little street with a water course running down the middle. The first three street scenes in my film were all taken by me, I added the screenshot from National Geographic because I felt the caption was very positive, and I did so leaving the credit to NG visible. I would have spent more time taking photos and maybe a movie, but my time was marred by a fault at the TSB cash machine whereby it processed my withdrawal but failed to deliver any cash! When I went into the TSB they were unhelpful, saying I had to raise a challenge through my own bank. I then discovered that there is indeed a Nationwide in Frome, down the hill a bit, so I had to go in there and spend time sorting it all out. This episode meant I wasn't in a positive frame of mind for a while. However, you are right, Frome is a delightful little place and having sampled it, I would consider spending more time there when I finally get round to exploring Somerset and its cider a bit more! By the way, if I use photos from other sources in my films, I normally display a credit. I know a lot of TH-camrs don't.
Frome seems like a worthwhile place for a little stopover and a walk and a snack ❤😃
Thanks Frank - yes there are plenty of cafés there!

Did that German diesel at the get lost?
LOL German State Railways operate some of the "privatised" train companies!
