My grandad was one those in the d day landings though he was only a cook in the army I think he saw alot of bad things 💗

I was actually looking through one of the many books I have on the Falklands War last night and was reading the names and ranks of those that died. The number of cooks and stewards the Royal Navy lost was eye opening. I may be wrong, but I believe the largest number of casualties the Navy had was in this particular job specialty.
So "only cooks" serve as well and are subject to the same realities of war.
Nothing is more appreciated in the military, especially in the field, as a decent, hot meal. A good cook is worth his/her weight in gold.

Brought back memories of my dad he was in the army catering core. Bless them all.
My dear cousin was serving on the Hermese in the Falklands war, had his 21st birthday on it, thankfully he came home but lost lots of friends and suffered greatly with PTSD afterwards, God
bless them all.

the pure contempt blackpool council show and britannia hotel via the residents of the local metropole hotel. would of liked to have seen more of the service instead of sloppy self promoton. Links to charitable military causes should be linked in this video as a sign of respect and gratitude. So many died so you could make a living - Lest we forget

I know those marching off the parade where cadets but oh my god I've never seen anything like it...
I'm ex Royal Artillery and every foot step should hit the ground at the same time ... every lift of the hand should be at the same time.
Embarrassed for the cadet leadership if im honest.

Very sobering and moving Stephen. Great to see Paul and Jay. The brass bands i find stirring and the pipe bands too. They remind me of walking days at Church and Sunday school. Sad they dont seem to do these anymore for risk of offence very very sad. 😐😕😳❤

I think the younger generation just don't have a clue what these men and women did in the past for them. Maybe a bit more respect for the elderly should be shown.(War heroes)
Because they are never taught it in schools. The woke rubbish yes all of it 😮😢
My 9 year old granddaughter has done lots on the wars etc, and knows quite a bit from school, very proud of her.

That's great but a lot of teenagers and older (not all of them) have totally little or no respect for war heroes. That's great you're granddaughter has been taught about it, it's something that needs to be remembered in schools

Hi steve watching this tonight and i can onistly say how how good the rest of armed forces looked, but st john,s was a tuttle if that , had been us years ago i would have been ashamed to be out in public .learn to march and dress smartly.
