Cool. I'm also new to the Apple IIc so this looks great for me. Do you know if it could be wired to the external floppy connector rather than having the lid off? Thanks
I have finally got around to testing my gotek adapters and haven't blown anything up yet so that is a good start. I updated the HXC firmware to the Apple II version and copied your ProDos image onto a Fat32 USB along with the HXCCFG file for 'indexed' setup (no oled screen, just the original 7-digi screen) and the computer will not boot. Just get 'Err' on the GoTek screen. Everything else is wired up as you have in the video (TX/RX leads and S0 jumper). Any suggestions?
I've never seen that. They do have a troubleshooting and the developer is usually pretty responsive to questions and posts his email hxc2001.com/docs/gotek-floppy-emulator-hxc-firmware/pages/troubleshooting.html
@@AnotherMaker Got it sorted. Removed the CFG file altogether and just left the disk images on there. Life also got easier when using an OLED screen and rotary switch.
@@abeagley492 Fantastic. Yeah. I actually just ran into that where the thumb drive had flashfloppy on at some point.. I had to delete all the config files and let them rebuild so it started behaving like an hxc.
@@EverythingIsBrokenGarageAwesome! So glad to hear it's helpful. I just fired it up on my IIe and it worked like a champ. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Brilliant- Boards ordered from PCBWay and 3 days later already here - just need to make some time to build and try out for myself. Many thanks :)
That's amazing! I've gotten them quick but not that quickly. I guess you're a little closer :-). Enjoy!
Glad to see it working on the first try! I still need a floppy emulator just for old DOS machines...

I would also like to know if this is possible ? And to get it to boot
Yes you can get DB19 to IDC 20 adapters that’ll work and you can attach to the back of the IIc
Awesome video, one ofmy favorite old apple machines the IIc. Nicely done on the KiCad work
Hi, nice work and thank you! Which kind of Gotek do you use? (modell, rev. number?)
I use these www.ebay.com/itm/234259341532
Or I get the cheap ones and flash them myself.
love that you give credit to everyone
Great job. Pity I just completed a PCBWay order yesterday! Oh well, time to place another order!
Nice project, what’s about replace the floppy in an Apple 128K from 1984? Is it possible to use this Gotek as external floppy
Thanks so much for this inexpensive solution. I’ll give it a try. 😊
Good work. Will be doing this project soon.
You were going to supply us with the prodos file "to make it easier" for us.... do you have a link to that?
Sorry. It's in the repo. github.com/mudmin/AnotherMaker/tree/master/Apple%20II%20Gotek
Could this work on other apple computers of the time? I have an Apple //e but I also have a LC iii and a Classic ii.
Where do I download the HEX bootloader file for AT32 from hxc firmware?

Does it need the HXC firmware on the Gotek?
Yes
Amazing work! Kudos!
Thank you!
@@AnotherMaker I will put my order into PCB way this evening for some of them! Again thanks for doing this!

Thank you sooo much!
