      wow, thanks for replying, just a small request: it would be so nice if you can do a playlist dedicated for different AWS certifications, for example AWS developer associate (which I'm currently preparing for). I did not find a better resource that explains things in simple way like you do :) @@TinyTechnicalTutorials

    Thank you for the video.
    Amazing way of explaining it. I watch other videos, and this one it so clear.
    The one thing I see on containers is that I don't see we install OS. So if I have windows on my computer and I want to run linux on top of it like VM, I should not use containerization.

    • @TinyTechnicalTutorials
      @TinyTechnicalTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome, thanks for the nice comment! 🥰 The containers use the same OS kernel as the host. So if you have a Linux container, for example, it would need to run on a Linux host (Windows on Windows, etc.). But there are ways around that. On Windows, for example, you could create/run a Linux virtual machine, and then run the containers on that machine. Hopefully that makes sense. 😊 Thanks for watching!

    If containers sharing host os and there is no guest OS then that means all containers have same operating system as of host? So if we want to test our application in different operating systems then containers are not suitable, is my understanding correct?

    • @TinyTechnicalTutorials
      @TinyTechnicalTutorials  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're correct...the containers use the same OS kernel as the host.

    Why would I need a Host Operating system when Hypervisor is doing this job already, certainly I won't need a Host OS, for instance a server hardware can have a Hypervisor without the need for any HOST OS , and this hypervisor could be for the sake of example: vmware's esxi

    • @TinyTechnicalTutorials
      @TinyTechnicalTutorials  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @techsal! 👋 You've hit on an interesting distinction between Type 1 (bare-metal) and Type 2 (hosted) hypervisors. Hypervisors like ESXi (Type 1) can run directly on server hardware without needing a host operating system. A Type 2 (hosted) hypervisor requires a host operating system because it runs as an application within that OS, leveraging the host operating system's device drivers and management capabilities.
      More here if it's helpful: aws.amazon.com/compare/the-difference-between-type-1-and-type-2-hypervisors/
      Great question! 😊

      Thanks @@TinyTechnicalTutorials I don't think we use Type 2 anymore in enterprises, for me it has been like at least 15 years ago that we stopped using type 2 and moved to type 1, thanks for the response
