This happened to me, windows 11 updated my gpu drivers to windows basic and completely broke my gpu drivers, noice 👌
thats why i disabld driver updates over windows update and then decided to completly rip out the windows update function out of the system because windows update just messes up driveers all the time. never let windows update do all the work

Same happened to me on Win10 broke the nvidia drivers and also some crashes in valorant. Had it reinstall (clean) windows. lol

Glad you got it fixed, but, you should also try updating the firmware and VBIOS. I had black screen issues with my old 1080ti and when it just shuts off after your plugged in other monitors was really similar to what I had to deal with using Displayport and HDMI to the TV.

Even if it is working now, it's worth updating everything on your card anyway so future windows bullshit won't break it again in the future.
You’re right about that. I haven’t updated the bios on that thing in a couple years. And the last time I updated it was for this very reason lol

maybe this is the reason why people keep using windows 7 with 3rd-party updaters like 0zero or legacy update
im not sure if it was exacly a windows update issue but last year i might have updated windows (not sure) and when i got into windows and my gpu in my laptop just didnt show up, didnt work, some error 43 i think in device manager, tried downloading the gpu drivers again and nothing, the igpu came in clutch for me ngl
Man, everything that you went through in this video is what I just recently experienced on my MSI GTX 1070. From the update, to the wonky screen with the basic display adapter to reinstalling the GPU, the dust ( I used a mini vac) and even the flying insect! It was a fly in my case that wanted to take up residence in my ear and I got so pissed I grabbed a fly swatter and chased that sucker around the entire house until he was effing DEAD! This is too weird.. I ended up nuking everything Nividia in my PC with DDU however there were still a few folders that DDU didn't remove so I deleted them. Reinstalled the driver for the card and after a few small heart attacks caused by black flickering screens, it now works like it should. GPUZ and Afterburner now recognize the card. I have to add that my other PC has an AMD XFX RX 580 and I had to use DDU, search for remnant folders and reinstall AMD drivers. All is ok so far with both. I’m happy I didn’t have to resort to DDU (yet) because I have some strange configs on here to make all my monitors work in the two rooms. It ended up doing this AGAIN like 2 days later which was great, but 7 reboots and unplugging monitors later, it’s back! Thanks for the sub and the great comment :)
