The wildest thing is that back in Skypiea, when Straw Hats were dancing with the wolves, the silhouette of Luffy looked EXACTLY like that of Nika & drumbeat to which their danced was the exact same as Luffy's heartbeat here. (Same SFX in manga) Also, in Calgara & Noland's flashback, Calgara's village was said to worship the Sun God. Same Sun God that was also mentioned in Elbaf, during Big Mom's flashback! Years ago, Oda said that Luffy dancing with the wolves is his favorite moment in OP. It's absolutely insane to think that Oda had all of this planned. G5 has to be the most unique, fitting and genius transformation & fits Luffy's personality perfectly. Our boy Luff literally became Looney Tunes!
I always loved Skypiea for the storytelling and how deep the story went on the history. I just never understood how people didn’t like Skypiea, the amount of lore and setup for that arc and fun moments was amazing!
Oda is nuts. I was a bit taken aback when I read this in the manga but I literally went back to chapter 200 and saw he's been setting this up for 2 decades!!! And this was the prologue....

It is said that they mess up with the devil fruit wave lengths and that's why chopper got 7 transformations instead of 3, luffy's fruit is already broken, it's a mythical and a special one on top, it has a paramicia secondary property + the buffs of a zoan fruit crazy power durability and regenation boost + the primary mythical property/special additional power, in this case the power of imagination. When you think about it that's crazy 😂😅
Luffy waking up and clearing the sky is soo next level Zoan's having a will of their own is such insane lore to drop 1071 episodes in Kanjuro has been a villain for 90 episodes but he sure made an effort to stand out LOONEY TOONES ACTION BABYYY I love Kaido opening his heart and saying "I didn't want to win like that" NEXT EPISODE IS SO FIREEEE CAN'T WAIT Imagine if Luffy unlocked G5 with a rumble ball, that would be wild PS: after being behind for months I'm up to date for the liberation drums!

Idk if y’all remember but Luffy got the same type of devil fruit than Sengoku (human human mythical type Buddha). The mythicals human human fruits are inted to represent divinities. Back in Skypea the Shaman foreshadowed the Nika transformation by saying that they worship the gods of Sun, Rain, Forest and Earth. So maybe there gonna be 3 other mythical human human type out there like Luffy.
OP is in a whole New journey in the newest Episodes, even This one right here, you can look at the episode in slowmo and there will be some "easter eggs" hiden in the impact frames or when Luffy is transforming, etc. I like the way they are adding stuff like that into the episodes

it's interesting that luffy is a zoan type. we heard it from rob lucci that zoan fruits are the best when it comes to hand to hand combat. and back in impel down, someone (i think either crocodile or jimbe) said that zoan types have a habit of becoming stronger after being defeated in combat. so considering luffy's history of fights, it starts to make sense why he was able to get stronger after defeats.

The Elder Stars answered a suspicion I had since Enies Lobby. Luffy had the same reaction to his transformations as Chopper did to Monster point. If anything, I wonder if Chopper is a mythical type. Initially, I was not a fan of Gear 5. That being said, I wasn’t a fan of Gear 4, initially, for the reason Kaido stated. Watching it a second time around it really grew on me.
Now that we are at this point I can say taht your deductions on the "Finest" line wasa bit off. I belive that the elder stars were saying that they didnt want Luffy to fight against the finest (AKA Kaido) because they didnt want Luffy to awaken his devil fruit.
