    You are told to sleep/turn on your left side as opposed to laying flat on your back because as you’re get farther along and baby is weighing more, they can compress your inferior vena cava, which can cause you to feel light headed and faint. Your IVC is positioned slightly to the right of midline in your abdomen, whereas your aorta is positioned more to the left of midline. Your IVC is a vein, which is easily compressible by baby. However, your Abdominal Aorta is an artery which has more thick walls and baby would not compress it 😁 love, a diagnostic medical sonographer!! 😊💖 @mia_ashley_perrino

I feel like I have a best pal I can completely relate to, definitely in the world we are having right now, you really cheer me up and I feel so emotional and overwhelmed at the fact that it's not just me 🥺 and everything I'm going through is freaking normal! I've been watching Carys for 3+ years now and Ive watched her get more and more beautiful on the outside and on the inside. She is the reason I have grown to love my body and feel beautiful in my own skin and it has reflected on how I treat people and I am just an overall better person because of her influence and I am forever thankful that she decided to make content and share her stories. And seeing James and his love for you grow more and more each video is so beautiful and seeing him grow into himself on camera and getting more comfortable sharing his life with thousands of people. Merry Christmas to your family you guys are an absolute miracle and deserve the world.

    Age gaps always sound so appealing but with my own experience, I hated the 4 year age gap between my sister and me. For example: when I was 9 and my sister 13, I still wanted to play and hang out with her but she was a teenager telling me to leave her alone. It was always her with the adults and older kids and me having to hang out with the younger kids. She was drinking, going out with friends and driving four years before I could so we never got the opportunity to bond because there was always the obstacle of different age group/brackets and interests.

    • @Lexi-hw9gk
      @Lexi-hw9gk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is 10 years between me and the next youngest sibling, then 12 years, 14 years and so on. I didn't bond with my siblings easily from young, but we as adults have bonded and grown so close. For some people age gaps don't matter, for some they can be detrimental. I think it comes down to how you can best be a parent at the end of it all.

    • @annap2320
      @annap2320 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tbh I had the opposite problem as there is around 19 months between me and my brother, so even though we get on fairly well it is annoying to both of us to have a lot of the same friends. I always thought an extra year or two we wouldn’t have had this issue.

  • @sorayaanne6480
    @sorayaanne6480 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You’re gonna have hate comments about your parenting. But you know what. That’s your baby, you’re getting to know your baby, and parenting itself. Parenting is never easy. My son is only 1 and everyday is different. He’s growing every second and we still don’t fully know what we’re doing. No one does. Listen to yourselves, no one else. No one knows your baby like you do

    I’m a right side sleeper, but they say sleeping on the left is better because of where the esophagus empties into the stomach. Sleeping on the right causes the food to leak back into the esophagus where as sleeping on the left keeps the fluids in the stomach and prevents heart burn, acid reflux, etc. It’s also beneficial when you’re pregnant because it protects your liver from being squashed by the baby haha

    Re. Colours- from a child development perspective, colours are SO important! There’s lots of research out there and it’s really interesting!
    Whilst colours don’t necessarily have to be bold and garish, having some contrasting colours is really beneficial. Can be pastel greens/blues/purpled etc.
    It’s become a bit of a trend recently for “insta toys” or “aesthetic nurseries” with lots of grey/beige etc whilst this looks really cute it’s actually not that beneficial for baby. All the ugly colourful toys are the best from a development perspective! So excited to hear baby girls name ❤️

    Babies originally only see see in black and white and grey. So black and white items are most stimulating to them for the first few months. Around 4 months they start to see colours with red being the first colour they can see then by around 5 months they can usually see the full spectrum of colour. This is why lots of nurseries have black and white tiles or mobiles in bathroom areas to stimulate babies during nappy changes, the when they start to differentiate between different colours and tones you will notice they are more fixated on your face during feeds and close contact because they can see you properly for the first time ☺️

    Sleeping on your back is okay until 3rd trimester:) its all about the Vena Cava, its the main vein that carries blood back to your heart.. sleeping on your back when pregnant can put alot of pressure on the Vena cava.. therefore reducing blood flow! but sleeping on your left maximises blood flow to the baby, ive always been a right hand sleeper and its not an issue, it just means blood can get to the baby easier if you sleep on your left x

    to be honest it depends on you. Just a heads up to not be afraid to tell the nurses what you want. Personally I had a negative experience because they made me lay down the whole time hooked up to monitors to hear babys heartbeat and then in the end they told me its my fault that the baby would not engage. I did try to be active but the epidural numbed me from the waist down (I was on epidural in case they needed to do a c section which they ended up doing anyways) xxx also prepare your bag in case they emit you for emergency c section because I wasn't prepared (wrong maternity underwear) and they were fed up that my partner had to bring the right things for me xxx

    I love your mentality around birth and how you are setting up 0 expectations. I know when I was pregnant I had a general idea as to what I would’ve hoped would happen but also understood that anything could change at any second, to set up some sort of expectation is in my opinion isn’t the best going into something so unpredictable. Just a fun fact too , when your pregnant and you need to be out in a recovery position they ask you to put the person on there left hand side and the reason is the same for going to sleep to .
    Because your liver is on the right side of your abdomen, lying on your left side helps keep the uterus off that large organ. Sleeping on the left side also improves circulation to the heart and allows for the best blood flow to the fetus, uterus, and kidneys.

    You are this little ones mum and dad, you guys are the only ones perfectly equipped to deal with YOUR baby, enjoy it because as cliche as it sounds it goes way to quick, I'm on my 3rd baby and I've had a water BIRTH natural no pain releif she was 9lb 1oz, a birth on land as I call it (on my back) had diamorphine and he ended up stuck with shoulder dystocia and he was 10lb 4oz and for this little one I'm being induced and I'm opting for an epidural as early as possible. You do whats right at that moment for you don't let anyone make you feel like you can't do it the way you want xx

    Oh I learned this in biology u should sleep on your left side because your liver is on the right side of your abdomen, lying on your left helps keep the uterus off the organ and it improves the circulation to the heart and the best blood flow to the fetus, uterus and the kidneys💗💗

    Yes the third trimester is rough but the first is definitely worse if you had morning sickness and just being exhausted. Third trimester you’re just tired and uncomfortable but that’s better than feeling sick constantly. I think you’ll handle it perfectly. You’re healthy and you are already aware of how you could feel.

    Why does it feel like two minutes ago you announced your pregnancy and now your nearly two thirds of the way through. Honestly my concept of time this year is so messed up 😂 - krrosec

    Something interesting that I found out recently was that bold black-and-white images stimulate the development of the optic nerves in babies. Maybe something to consider with the nursery. You can also get black and white stimulation flashcards online :)

    No parents knows what they are doing!!! Each parent learns as they go! I felt stupid and like I was doing 'parenting' wrong but I wasn't. We all parent different which is why we are all different ans unique 💛 sorry I keep commenting. Im commenting as im watching the video.

    I can’t believe how much your bump seems to grow in between videos! It feels like you posted the announcement five minutes ago but also feels like years until April, I’m so excited so I can’t imagine how you feel! @glassbeats

    If I was you two for the vlogs with the new born, take the comment section off. You don't need that negative response, the only advice I'd ever take it from family and close friend's. Definitely take sometime though just to enjoy being the three of you, its a big life changing time and I think it's worth it! A week/two weeks off to just be new parents and enjoy her to yourselfs ☺ xxx

    I don't suppose James and Carys will see this now but in terms of colours and stimulation for the baby, bright and primary colours are good for stimulation and visual development 😊 so excited for baby Jarys, she's going to be adorable!
