I do remember this lift from around the time you filmed this, although at the time I didn’t notice the type of lift it was, I just rode it up and down for like 10 minutes LOL!
I have many memories of this lift from when I was about 5 years old. When we visited my nan, we always went up in this lift to the restaurant on the 1st floor.
3:31 How do the dot matirx displays work on a slap on mod to a relay logic? I can understand how you just wire in the inputs from the lamps in the indicator, and it can display the corresponding digit, but how is it able to get the power supply to be animated? I’d expect to go off between floors as the power is cut (from the relay logic) then it would just appear again showing a different number. It stays on all the time though, so how does it do that? I guess it has some sort of capacitor which allows it to stay on for a moment while it has no input. Then some chip which animates it once the input changes from the previous one.
Different types of displays. Some have the inputs on the back of the PCBs and it's like that diode matrix display from this video th-cam.com/video/PEPb1Z45uho/w-d-xo.html. These would act as you describe, no power, off go the LEDs. The ones you're looking require a constant voltage, then data is fed from a controller in the motor room. th-cam.com/video/RAyqPEdBXV0/w-d-xo.html You can just make out the connections - white wires at top that probably go down to the displays. Black wires at bottom coming from the floor position relays of the PLC controller. You give the display controller a trigger and data is then sent to the other LED unit in the car and landing - the display will change to the next floor. Whether the trigger remains present or not is probably irrelavant, it will just change when a new floor has been triggered. Not many display units have the individual wires, as it's far easier to do the whole thing on a data-bus using just 3 wires (POS/NEG/DATA) then have the controller in the motor room. The displays also have some intelligence to show up/down 'in between' displaying the floor. Some you can set an address, so each LED unit has it's own programming which is then triggered from the controller card (i.e. landing displays show continuous UP or DN when car arrived, whereas the car display shows the floor).
I agree with the fact the controller is still original, because of the premature door open, but a relay is not making contact, but the elevator is still working, and the problem goes unnoticed.
yes,it's still there,I would love it if mrmatt payed it another visit. It had to be the best and creepiest video of the lot, please take us up the drum this time.
I remember going in the bentalls lift last year and it was out of order. Now it is working again. Could you do another video of this lift to see if there has been any more changes to it
ELEVATORMUSEUM I used to love illuminating buttons as a kid and bought loads. Nowadays, well, kind of I suppose. Talking of which, what do you think of these... (beautiful!) Mitsubishi Lift/Elevator 28 and 日立エレベーター
thanks :) I always "TRY" to get him involved as our youtube account has both our names in it. He doesn't always want to do it, unless he bargains it for like "i'll do it if I can go on minecraft" lol
+Tobias Dekker I have been to Bracknell fairly recently to try and film the Charles Square derelict lifts, but the whole area was closed off ready to be knocked down. This was a month ago, so I suppose the whole area's been knocked down by now. I keep going around there but I'm not finding anything new to film. There is one place I want to return to though, so, yep, I do keep returning and I'll let you know if I get anything new on camera.

yeah you could be right there. Until it breaks completely then it will stay as it is
mrmattandmrchay That can only mean car park 5 ;)

Could you do another video on the buttons??

+NoisyNathan22422 Hmmmm possibly, not sure when though
Motor room?
Wow, pretty big elevator... I don't see anything this before. Great video thought! 😊
thanks! I remember this lift from my childhood when I used to stay with my Nan in Bracknell as a kid.
@@mrmattandmrchay Oh, that great video though. Good job, mate! 😎
Damn, your Express Lift push button examination video is no longer available due to copyright claim. I was going to watch that :"(
The lift moves at the speed of a Hydraulic?

ive honestly never flagged a mrmattandmrchay video i find them to intresting
thanks :)

I liked when Chay done the talking for whats coming up in the next video.

Could you do another tour of Bracknell 2015 please?

Amongst the two of us (and the rest of the world): are you addicted to buttons? You like them, don't you? :-)
Shall we think of a button- and fixture series, a real thorough one? I'd support this from my side as well...
4:17 There appears to be 2 keyswitches at the bottom of the panel
My guess is one is for the 2nd floor, and the other might be to keep the door open
Does the lift still exist?
Unfortunately the shop was closed in 2017 and it was demolished in 2021
I think that’s digital lift controls cem 8 logic (from the voice) ive got that logic on my demo bored

I havea movie tip for you 'DE LIFT' its a dutch movie about a elevator it is in english and or with subtittels. You wil enjoy it.
Why’s it moving slowly.
One real shame is the inside floor indicator seemed to be completely burned out oh well
The one thing I dont like is they ofcourse added that really annoying beep for when the doors are open and someone is going through
Does it still exist ?
Unfortunately not. The shop is being demolished.
@@Lift.Tracker You seem to know everything about all Express lifts LOL
@@MichalM Yeah lol. My favourite lift Company! :-)
@@MichalM I wonder what they’d be like if they were still here today. Do you think they’d still have the oval buttons and indicators?
@@Lift.Tracker :)
I sent you another PM.
