as an american jungle and dnb are some of my favorites uk exports. one day i will take a pilgrimage to the holy land of the amen break and probably drink to much and try to make some friends over our shared love of the music.
I disagree. Two Forms was phoney on the A Side and boring synth twiddling on the second disk. I really loved their early works and the mid 90ies tracks a la Universal Love. But I cant remember ONE absolute outstanding track or Album. Yes, they worked on Timeless. Yes they have done many things - but I think we both can agree that they didnt have a "Timeless" or a Label like Metalheadz. Reinforced Records was - and I mean WAS - great. But its debatable at best to claim its on the Level of Metalheadz, Moving Shadow or even Soul:R for example. It had many good releases, less so CLASSICS. I personally think they deserve love. But like Goldie? I dont know....
could listen to Goldie talk about himself and his life for hours, for someone who came through a tough childhood to have achieved what he has and to become as talented and successful as he has is really very inspirational. Was a massive fan of the rufige kru back in the hardcore days.
I bought his Record label back in the 90s. Metal Heads.... Terminator, a side Sinister, b side Drum n Bass in he face with a Hardcore bass Goldie, he still Rocks 😋😎😜
They been doing different projects , Goldie has half retired he did mention photek and nookie in a good chat with Fabio about Timeless 25 yrs, look it up plus dillinja interview which is rare dillinja don't do many interviews.
I think it's the modesty, Americans just seem ready to plug the next thing rather than being like "yeah I made something I wanted hopefully you'll like it"
They are all from NYC main avenue scene... if compare London to USA... they are in and out of the same studio all the time. Sometimes you see them walking past with lamps at night and the lamps go off and stuff happens stuff with rizlas even. That's what I heard from someone what was a roof rack arrangement specialist form the UK. Goldie fell out with too many people when he bought lots of record labels and pirated fake mixes to everyone and working with Cher and celine Dion... That is when it became very commercial. He took down practically all of radio waves. i'm suspicious. From the UK previously on YT you can check what Tricky from Bristol does with adventures optimally: th-cam.com/video/FH9Nd4w-rLg/w-d-xo.html has to say about it and get your own recording kit: th-cam.com/video/1oqxRMAwOjI/w-d-xo.html It's a 200mn TV channel they arent going to put on possyvision in the UK.
WOW. I remember hearing rave stories around 05/06 when dubstep was on the rise. I was preteen listening to d&b and jungle. Mind blowing to watch, much respect for Goldie, taking a word from your peers to giving some!. Skream is still adorable as ever. p.s. dude in the other booth took Berts shirt. lol.
Remember hearing that satin storm tune on a bryan gee tape, such a dark tune! one of the first tunes i feel that had the original elements of the drum and bass scene to come
Goldie is one of my all time heroes and a true godfather jedi of electronic music. Two triple stacks, a dirty warehouse, too much bass, baggy jeans and super hot girls with pig tails wearing gas masks was all you needed to have the greatest nights of your life. Anyone have a time machine I can borrow for a trip back to 91?
it's weird how looking up random electronic artist from completely different scenes can lead me to 2 skream and benga videos in one night, kinda neat i guess
As an Aussie, I was always jealous of the English. From July Division, Oasis, and then all the underground sounds as well, the rave scene, dnb... Just seems like there was room for all kinds of sounds to explore.
He mentions that he's making an album with Photek and Burial. WHERE THE FUCK CAN I BUY IT. SOMEONE PLEEEASSSEE GIVE ME THE LINK OR SOME INFO ON IT. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY FEEDBACK!
What upcoming album was Goldie talking about? He's talking about an album he's working on that brings closure to an amazing era (the 90's). If I heard that right then I definitely wanna get my hands on that release. It's kinda hard to follow them at points though, their british accents are mad thick.
+Bongo De Low bukem and goldie shine more as label heads than producers. then bukem drove his label into the ground with shitty contracts and finances. neither are particularly good engineers (goldie has no engineering skills). arrangement and ideas are their skills in the studio.
whatever mate. produced some good tunes but your head got massssssivvveeeee fucking cameo in james bond , you sold out, your stardom as a d+ b DJ laneded you that job role, should have stuck to music and tagging walls. still a legend

You are very welcome bro
If you do, head straight to Bristol.
definitely do it, as that guy said, Bristol are big junglists, and Sheffield / Leeds
Some of friends have made the pilgrimage. Its definitely as good as it sounds. One day, I will do the same. :D
F BRISTOL COME LONDON
As much as I like Goldie, I truly wish someone could wake the up, and give 4 Hero this same love. They literally are the best producers from England.
absolutely true

Goldie is a fuckin true living legend pioneer out here for the UK
Here they're celebrating 20 years. I'm watching this 10 years later and Metalheadz is still going strong!

Bringing me back to the days of Metal Headz... EPIC DAYZ!!!
goldie u timeless legend..👍👍👍👍👊👊
Still not heard anything about that Goldie & Photek collab since...
Photek did a remix of a goldie tune on a single this year with a remix of his own The Rain
@@freddie7981 That was a remaster of a Headz release from 96
They been doing different projects , Goldie has half retired he did mention photek and nookie in a good chat with Fabio about Timeless 25 yrs, look it up plus dillinja interview which is rare dillinja don't do many interviews.
British producers just seem so much cooler than American ones .
I think it's the modesty, Americans just seem ready to plug the next thing rather than being like "yeah I made something I wanted hopefully you'll like it"
Tom Nicklin That basically sums it up.
It's natural not plastic
That's called a Cognitive Bias.

foxracer1703 I'm just 17😢
11:43 " music pops out of the atmosphere, it pops out of its own gravity" real talk!

He's too right. It was so much better back in the 90s because it took more effort and was WAAAYY less commercialised
2:01 am I tripping, or was that Skream's reflection leaving the room?? 😂
Totally lmao
off to get him a stella no doubt
You're just high :)
I did the same thing !
Ha!!
it's weird how looking up random electronic artist from completely different scenes can lead me to 2 skream and benga videos in one night, kinda neat i guess

Goldies' the Cliff Richard of DnB- He'll be around forever lol!
Clifford Joseph Price
AND FLYING LOTUS OMG.
I have no clue about anything more than that but omg I am pumped.
1:33 is he talking about moving shadows?
Legend rockin the Dave Starsky cardigan. Brilliant. 😁
He mentions that he's making an album with Photek and Burial.
WHERE THE FUCK CAN I BUY IT.
SOMEONE PLEEEASSSEE GIVE ME THE LINK OR SOME INFO ON IT.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY FEEDBACK!
The square will destroy him
Wonder how many folks remember the S1000s?
10 years later, back in fashion. And S950s have over quadrupled in value.

DjDizzy216 I think: Goldie - The Alchemist: The Best Of 1992-2012
thanks!
8:40 legend is telling the truth!
Alongside LTJ Bukem and Adam F Goldie is one of our greatest producers. Infusing depth and emotion into beats.
Dillinja and Dj Hype!?
***** Source Direct, Intense, DJ Trace, J:Majik... the list of absolute legends never stops. No point naming a few.
***** Indeed where true music is. Underground
+Grumptr0nix wax doctor!
+Bongo De Low bukem and goldie shine more as label heads than producers. then bukem drove his label into the ground with shitty contracts and finances. neither are particularly good engineers (goldie has no engineering skills). arrangement and ideas are their skills in the studio.
Fuck...I have that Satin Storm record somewhere. Scratched beyond playability but it''s about. Top track.
“When it was dubstep”
In front of Skream and Benga
Goldie, he's 100% right
Whatever happened to Benga? Looks like he stopped producing music 4 years ago.
I totally agree with the Dj aspect, bang on
He's the oracle!
out of the box ;)
Goldie#1
GoldieYo!
Dark as you like! ;)
U know they've all got mash up together off camera
Awe, Goldie you legend. Just felt like they couldn't wait to get rid of you during this! Just a "yeah" and occasional giggle unfortunately!
What's with the square around Skream's face?
Target by the alchemist
didnt expect goldie to be deep
Drum and bass is just watered down uk breakbeat hardcore!
Hardcore was pretty watered down and shait by the end of the 90s, it was naturally going to evolve into jungle and dnb
WhoseTheCuntInTheJumperBehindThem
how the fuck did skream get that face box lool
Never really rated him, was more of a Kenny Ken, Andy C and LTJ man myself but each to their own.
I have those exact same headphones :D
🙇
DAN... PHIL?! WHERE ARE YOU MY BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN?!
Hahah, I thought about the same thing.
Newbies are fuckin starstruck believe!
