It is not normal for new well designed low frequency inverters to hum or buzz. Mostly the ones that do that are the ones made from bolt together steel sheet construction. The Deye is also a Low frequency inverter. it is made from heavy molded aluminium and the cover and inlets / outlets all have rubber seals. I am really wondering if the deye 16kw can run my pressure pump, iron, borehole, air conditioners, or are seye’s only good with light loads such as tvs fan fridges? I need help
No you are 100% wrong. The Deye inverter Starts the huge AC unit. It uses just over 3kW to run and you can easily doble that for its start up loads. I will also add that AC unit is more then likely older then you. So its Not new tech. You can see it plainly in the logs on my last video. Deye's a beast. It'll handle all your loads and then some. I also got four of those Chinese "powerwalls" powering my off-grid setup. I got them pretty cheap and I'm quite happy with them. Why waste money on those expensive Tesla powerwalls or LG systems?
That victron has a problem its arking, that is the crackling sound you are hearing and even the AC hum does not sound normal at all. He should turn it off and check all of his connections again if it persist he should contact is dealers or the installers if he didn't do it himself.
Like i said in the Video, He has had the installer out there and he said its normal for the Victron's to make that noise. You can turn it anyway you like. The unit is still running and still making the noise. Poorly constructed inverter housing in the big cause. If the installer says its normal who am i to say he is wrong? after all he has installed more Victron inverters then i have probably seen.
Mine is also Low Frequency inverter, ie using a transformer, There are many low frequency inverters on the market. I have used quite a few. The Victron in this video is the first one I have every heard making that sort of noise. I am not new to this, When I started doing solar you could only get low frequency inverters. There was no such thing as High frequency inverter. Afraid there is no excuse for poor build quality.
We use victron now as the chinese inverters don't last overall 30% failure rate for most of them past two years old. And customer service is not there , At least with victron you get support fan noise is not a real problem. I have been offgrid in WA for over ten years and tested many products and have dropped in on your channel regularly solar power is evolving very fast now.But I must admit my old pip4048 is still on the wall as backup I believe chinese inveters being made at the moment are not to the same standard they use to be pre pandemic.
@@phillipmoore4492 I am not going in to how good they may have been. I considered Victron when looking to upgrade my system. In the comments of this video I see another with the same inverter that has the same problems. They Need to sort this out. There is no need for low frequency inverters to make such a racket.
The Deye fans kick in on heavy load as well and you will hear them especially after about 2 years of use. But as I said that is only on heavy use and does not last very long. This is evident in 5k and up and is unavoidable on any inverter. If the Deye fans ever become to loud, just change them out.
yes all fans make noise as they age. the fans are on the back of the unit and very easy to change out. This summer when i have the inverter under heavy load from the house AC units we will be making another video just on that point. I am not new to solar or off grid. Been off grid many years now. I tell it how i see it. Right down the line. If you don't like my videos then don't watch them. Some people cant handle the truth even when its videoed by the owners of these things. So you do understand that right, The owner of that bit of rubbish noisy Victron inverter come to me for help after he had No joy from the installer or Victron. That unit was just 2 months old, and made that noise from new.
As you can see blow it's not just one person. They have failed to help many with this problem I would think. These are the sorts of things Sigi and I took into consideration when looking for an inverter that would, Do everything in one package and last us 20+ years. We read a lot of forums and I went to the Yacht clubs and talks to lots of liveaboard cruisers. "@LukeOHare • 1 day ago Oh dear, I have a Victron that sounds the same. They need to get their shit together. 😒 "
I bought my 4kw Magnum inverter in 2009 and its dead silent even today. The only noise it makes is a slight fan hum when the inverter is in high powered grid charging mode which I only use that mode when we expecting a storm and I top up the batteries.
@NormanMcGregor exactly mate. Low Frequency inverters should not make any hums or vibrations at all. Apparently this is normal for Victron's. Glad i did not get one, that if for sure. 🙃👍
All the Victron's make a hell of a noise. Victron tell them its normal for low frequency inverters to make that Noise. Well Its Not Normal, That noise is due to very poor construction of the inverter. ( poorly built case).

I could not live with that Inverta it would drive me crazy🤔 thanks for the updates
@MickelPascoe-of6ns Same mate. It's inexcusable to for it to make such a noise. Just really poor build quality 👍.
Justin deye inverters are high frequency so they do not have transformers as such , they are also not advisable for heavy inductive loads ..?? Am I right?
I am really wondering if the deye 16kw can run my pressure pump, iron, borehole, air conditioners, or are seye’s only good with light loads such as tvs fan fridges? I need help
No you are 100% wrong. The Deye inverter Starts the huge AC unit. It uses just over 3kW to run and you can easily doble that for its start up loads. I will also add that AC unit is more then likely older then you. So its Not new tech. You can see it plainly in the logs on my last video. If you watch the full video and don't skip through it th-cam.com/video/KoYOFjtVF6Q/w-d-xo.html . I am not telling you to buy one. Really I don't care what you buy or what batteries you use. IF you look at my videos you can see them installed on homes like mine and large working farms and many water pumps. Me I sell nothing at all. I am retired and have been for many years. I have also been Off-Grid and testing all sorts of solar equipment for many years. It's my hobby.
@@JustinCaseSolarPower thank you, bthe deye I just purchased is the 16kw single phase, so I wanted to sell off my low frequency 12kw Growatt , just wondering how reliable that particular unit is
@@nnodunnodu7914 Like i said all the units i know off are working great doing all sort of jobs, with no problems. Working that good that we just purchased The Deye SUN-5K-SG04LP1-AU for the next stage of the video series. Should be arriving in a week or 4. Hard to say with the shipping being what it is right now. 😒. Watch my last video my friend. Remember How i have the unit installed. For me it does everything we need it to do.
Yes it will run a bore pump. You can even buy 3phase units to run 3phase pumps welders and anything ells the requires Australia, 400 V officially, (but in practice often 415 V), 50 Hz . They are a low frequency inverter. Just ask George at Green Bank. 0447 447 554 or email him contact@greenbanks.com.au He knows fare more about them then I do. He sells and installs hundreds of units big and small , Single and Three Phase.
You have helped steer me away from Victron gear. Ive never heard an inverter make that sound before.
I was not impressed with the noise at all. Its the first time i hear a Victron working. I am also please i did not go with Victron 👍
Deye's a beast. It'll handle all your loads and then some. I also got four of those Chinese "powerwalls" powering my off-grid setup. I got them pretty cheap and I'm quite happy with them. Why waste money on those expensive Tesla powerwalls or LG systems?
I'll take prismatic cells over 18650 flashlight batteries any day. To much can go wrong with them.
Great!
Thank you my friend. Hope all is well. 😉✌ 👍
Its because victron are low frequency , ie using transformers which last longer than high frequency inverters.
Looking at forums and having problems myself with there MPPT charge controllers I quickly gave up on them. I emailed them lots of times on the problems and got no response. In the comments of this video I see another with the same inverter that has the same problems. They Need to sort this out. There is no need for low frequency inverters to make such a racket.
Oh dear, I have a Victron that sounds the same. They need to get their shit together. 😒
Yes sad to say, I think they are just chasing the $$$ and forgetting to build gear that lasts and runs well. 👍😉
I don't think that noise is normal at all. I have never heard an inverter do that before even the really cheap modified sine ones.

USE THE RUBBER FEET FOR THE HUM. Not a fan of Victron tho. One went up in black smoke!! Never again.
like i said in the Video. not my unit. Never have and never will own rubbish like that. They have been taken off the approved list as well
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you

RJ D Thank you mate. 🙃 🖖 👍
That's a very annoying sound. Probably failing slowly
All the Victron's make a hell of a noise. Victron tell them its normal for low frequency inverters to make that Noise. Well Its Not Normal, That noise is due to very poor construction of the inverter. ( poorly built case).
