- Best viewed in 60 fps. I'm player 1 and Mark is player 2. Note that I don't know a way to switch the text to English. Also, it wasn't possible for player 2 to buy things in the shop.
Somehow I just randomly remembered this game, and honestly I had a lot of fun playing it as a kid.

Yeah, it uses a lot the same assets (swamp creatures, boss life bar) and sound effects. But the way they had their hands pointing and showing where to go reminded me of Let's Go Jungle.

Were you aware during this playthrough that your guns are actually fully automatic in this game? Cause I definitely think using the full auto would’ve helped during some of the boss sections.
I knew it had it, but I hadn't done enough research to verify if it was supposed to have it or not. With the default AimTrak setting, the main trigger wasn't autofire, while the side button was. Considering House of the Dead 4 has rapid fire shots, it does make sense that this game has them too, but unfortunately, I didn't know for sure at the time. Next time, I'll use it, although I'm not trying this game again until some things are fixed.

Seriously Sega, you can't really be _that_ lazy. Reusing assets from HotD4? (Same engine, same enemies, same sound effects, same damage effects, etc.). And the fact that the Shop from this game became a feature in HotD:SD and became one of the most questionable and useless additions to the game (because you ended up only buying lives)

You know substandard voice acting and game quality are the hallmarks of the HOTD series😂 At least they realized they couldn't take themselves seriously after HOTD 4. But this is Sega, the company that killed Virtua Fighter and had to let fans make the only good Sonic game of this decade because they didn't want a repeat of the bestiality experiment that was Sonic 2006.
@@thebestcentaur what are you talking about? HotD always had consistent quality even though it's voice acting do indeed fell short ("our new reuler, te empereur" - Goldman, 2000). Even 3, despite it's faults, had a pretty solid quality.
Also, HotD4 showed that the series had potential be as good as those more popular series out there. It's a step into a better direction in the series overall. Scarlet Dawn kinda ruins that potential, because it suffers from what I can tell, rushed development, and the lack of polish/quality of the game. Inconsistent frame rate unlike all the previous HotD games which has stable 60FPS, bugs and glitches, terrible presentation (glass shards and wood pieces disappear out of nowhere wtf?!), etc.
With this game, it's abit understandable due to the game entirely made in Sega China, not Japan, and it's meant to appeal at Chinese audiences, hence saving costs by ripping of HotD4 assets, but for SD, there's no excuse for that. It's one of Sega's most prominent franchises and they dropped the ball on this one.
But, yeah. This is Sega we're talking about. They sometimes dropped the ball and make the one truly horrendous title in their IPs (Sonic 06 for example, like you pointed out.) SD is unfortunately, for me, one of those titles
@@darrylaz3570 I was saying that I also love the HOTD series despite its flaws, but that this consistency should be nothing new, even if this was made by Sega China. (Honestly, I figure we knew what we were getting more of when we knew who would be developing the game.) To me, the tongue in cheek "started from the bottom and stayed there" attitudes of the developers and all involved make the series all the more endearing. To be fair, Scarlet Dawn could be a lot better even by those standards. It's like they literally pick anyone off the street to voice act. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the actual process. My one grievance is removal of anything resembling zombie gore that was present in the first three games and Overkill. You can't rate a game Mature with no blood, like the ESRB did to ports of HOTD 4, unless it's something wildly perverted like Leisure Suit Larry or anything worse...
The Scarlet dawn's level system is evident the way to take advantage of beginners and HOD lovers,the game's graphics are amazing,but the difficulty is insane,crazy amout of enemies,short invincible time like less 1s,really easy to lose all of your lifes in a horde. Though you can buy weapons or lifes,it is still imbalance.
The boss fight ,to be honest, pretty good,old and new boss available. Priestess is like a octopus,Hanged man and Chariot are stronger.But Moon is not as good as others,the way it dead was humiliating , killed by a pipe?Well,a thunder actually.Its appearence is great,the weak point is not easy to guess,ain't like the World's pumping heart,but at least the World is nearly invincible,it can evolve many times,and killed by the satellite cannon(I guess,it can not be a nuclear missle at least.),that makes scene,but Moon sucks,the way it dead just like the way Simons of Resident Evil did, killed by thunder,eh.
The voice acting of this game can kiss my ass. In HOD,12and Scarlet Dawn sucks ,like reading a book.34,4sp and overkill are great, especially 4,but 4sp is likely to go backwards,Kate's voice in 4 is awesome,G's voice in the end of 4 is good either but in 4sp is just ok(I only give compromise to 4sp due to Magician and its new theme song,it is incredible and becomes one of my favorite game songs,1and2 have ,too.Each of them are different,Sega must put all their attention on Magician I guess.)
This game is just like a copy of HOD4, including voices,boss fights and boss's skills.Well,it has Chinese voice acting ,even the song ,that is unexpected.So,at least Sega puts attention to Chinese Market,hope HOD4 and sp can be available on PC sometime.
Tips:
1.aim for the head.
2.conserve your point.
3.dont take too many damage.
4.kill those enemy before they attack you.

I didn't know there was a problem in doing that. TeknoParrot does have an option for windowed, which I have unchecked. Also, while I did play this in fullscreen, this video doesn't actually prove that, because when I record, I am only capturing from the game window. Because of some difficulties, I had to play Operation GHOST in windowed mode, but you wouldn't be able to tell that from the video.

Last Thursday, Number 1 relates to distraction of enemies, number 2 wanted to use alternate route for the sake of faster travel, Number 3 is because it JUST HAPPENED one day. Number 4 might be dialogue only fit for 1 player, and Number 5 meant they thought they got the guns.

It is true that Sega Golden Gun is related to The House of the Dead 4 because of the zombie sound effect, the gun shooting alignment, the enemies followed almost the same pattern as the zombies and that Sega Building is the same as Goldman building. What's different is the boss' weak point identifying from 4.
Basically, they run on the same game engine, yeah.
Nope it has nothing to do with the storyline or sequel of HOTD (house of the dead). The arcade is just made by the same production crew but from another region.

But in this game there is a feature where if you shoot the enemy's critical point in the same time with both guns it will instantly kill them and give you points for "twin-shot critical" (of course its not gonna work for bosses)
Also in the end... the characters legit just said they are gonna go and play the HOUSE OF THE DEAD arcade LOL
Damn i remember playing this game at the arcade with my cousin.. We ended up using all of our credits beating it, and when we got to the end we were expecting like a huge cutscene with cinematics, only to be met with the biggest disappointment ever
What a trash ending
Well a lot of times arcade games don't really bother much with a real, epic ending, since they figure not many will see it. That and can't have them be too long, since other people who may be waiting to play the game once someone else finishes it won't want to sit through several minutes waiting it for end, thus losing interest, and might just go to a different game instead in that case too.
That's because you need to do it full accuracy and no damages.
