Thank you for a great reaction. Tommy Johansson is a singer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist from Sweden. His day job is being one of the lead guitarists for very popular metal band Sabaton (also from Sweden) who sing about history of war, but without glorifying war itself or taking sides. He also has his own band Majestica and his TH-cam channel where he does these awesome covers. He is extremely talented singer and musician with fantastic vocal range. My recommendations: Sabaton song Christmas Truce, Majestica song Above The Sky and Tommy's covers She's Gone, Phantom Of The Opera (he sings BOTH roles) and Bohemian Rhapsody
I’ve got to add the recommendation of ‘A Christmas Carol’ all originals by Tommy’s band Majestica. The entire album is phenomenal & ‘The Joy of Christmas’ is now by far my favourite Christmas song. It’s 30C+ here in 🇨🇦 & I’ve been blasting the album for days 🤣

And don't be freaked out by the end of his videos, most of the time he does some funny expressions that just top the video off with his great personality! Eftersom jag, när jag inte följer Tommy, gillar acapellamusik, så har jag följt Mortius som reaktör under en lång tid. Han är en speciell person, med sin egen charm. Dock är han inte en person som jag någonsin trodde skulle upptäcka Tommy och jag har aldrig föreslagit en reaktion eftersom Metal definitivt inte är något för Mortius, men skönsång däremot är hans gebit. Förvänta dig inte TNT, men Anthem, Hallelujah och dylikt passar här.😅

Tommy is amazing!! You absolutely need to see his " natural habitat" as it were, Sabaton. His first language is Swedish, so he over emphasizes the enunciation often. He does Scar, also, Be Prepared. Tommy is just great! Good reaction, Mortius. Oh, also, when you watch Sabaton, make sure you stay through the credits. They describe the battles from both perspectives. And it's historically accurate.

You asked about Tommy’s musical background .. this is what I know about it
Tommy comes from a small city in the very north of Sweden. Choirs are a a big part of musical life in Sweden so I’m very sure that Tommy has participated in such at least during school years (he also loves Christmas and chrismas music and have covered Angels we have .., holy night .. and released a chrismas album that is a power metal musical just waiting to happened)
Tommy started playing guitar at 9 after his father introduced him to Gary Moore and decided to become a singer after hearing the end of skidrows 18 and a life on the radio when he was 15. Soon after he learned to play keyboard and drums to be able to creat his own music.
He seems to really like musical theater ( and Disney) one of his first vocal goals at 15 was to learn “anthem” from the musical Chess and perform in front of the entire school (which he did)
When starting a band in Sweden as a boy in a small place it is usually a hard rock or heavy metal band) Tommy started a power metal band .. with symphonic influences … usually the most melodic and happy metal you will be able to find 😀 . He has released 6 studio albums under the name reinxeed ( one of them a concept album of the sinking of the titanic) and two albums under the name Majestica ( on of them a Christmas album based on the story of Scrooge called “a Christmas Carol” ..written as a to be able to be performed as a musical)
And he is very much into movie score music .. if I remember correctly he has said in interview that one of his favourite album is the movie score to Hook. .. and his done his own version of Rocky movie score music (training montage) on his channel
.. but of course he likes metal: Iron Maiden, halloween, Stradivarius has all been big influences too.
Oh forgot .. he is a big fan of the music from the 80th .. perhaps not a surprise since melody is so important in that music. He has to my knowledge no formal training except music teachers from his school years .. but he knows and comes in contact with a lot of classically trained singers in the metal community ( for example Flooor Jansen from Nightwish) I imagine he can get any help he needs 🤘
Tommy is a force of nature! I absolutely adore his singing and his guitar shredding! He is the most adorable man on earth and a genuine sweetheart! 😊😊
Love this kind of reaction where you really analyse what you hear. Tommy’s voice is one of the best I know of and it has such power (and as power metal is his thing it suits very well) and with Majestica’s they have done a xmas album A Christmas Carol that could be seen as a power metal xmas musical and his voice (and the other member’s) are perfect for that delivery. Highly recommend a listening before/during the holidays.
He is known for crazy high note but I’m glad you got into the lover register first so you can move upwards :-)
I think he can make any song into a power/epic metal version and you will headband along with it.
I’ve admittedly only seen a handful of Tommy’s videos so far but everything I’ve seen so far has been awesome. It was a lovely surprise to see you react to him, I hope you react to some more of his work!

He’s covered Steelheart, delivering mind blowing power in his vocals, all the way down to the spice girls! Yes, he covered the spice girls, giving it a new rock style! His Katy Perry cover is also phenomenal.

Thanks for the reaction, Tommy has a lot of songs out there, i think he releases one song cover a week! An other Swede you may want to take a look at is Erik Gronwalls (former SkidRow rocksinger) cover of I will always love you!
I think you would love his version of the Phantom of the Opera.
His rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody is out of this world. Never thought I'd hear someone cover it this well. Not Queen, but just as good. If you want to listen to his band Sabaton, which he has since left, try En Livstid i Krig ( the Swedish version with English subtitles ,performed in Gothenburg as part of the Great Tour). A powerful and moving moment.

Please please please do more Tommy reactions. I think you'd love Phantom of the Opera. However, there's too many great ones to choose. You Raise me Up. Winner Takes it All. She's Gone. Bohemian Rhapsody. Oh Holy Night. Those are all some of my favorites, but all of them are good. Well, 'good' is an understatement.
You have to litsten when he sings Abbas the winner takes it all, queen and phantom of the opera and more and more.
Visually, Tommy reminds me so much of the late, great Meatloaf, but with a much smoother voice. That is a very powerful tenor belt!

Why have you not done a follow up reaction to another Tommy Johansson song? He majorly geld backin his cover of The Circle of Life. You need to listen to his Abba covers (The Winner Takes it All, Lay All Your Love On Me, etc) or his Ave Maria cover. There are so many covers that he does that blow this one out of the water. You haven't really experienced Tommy till you react to one of those songs. Aside from this suggestion, I loved your reaction to his voice, but believe me, you aint heard nothing yet!

Also do some of "Sabatons" songs they are amazing.
Sabaton also started a hardrock festival in Falun in Dalarna (Where I come from and know live about 40 kilometre from that!) and they alwayes play the last set during that.
Its many different hardrock artists there playing from al the world. I think it started with 2 or 3 dayes with 2 stages I think to know be 3 stages and more dayes!
I whis I could afford to go on one of them becouse there are so dam good artist there. Sadley I cant do to I have Disability pension. So I cant afford the tickets. Almost everyone also have tents with them and sleep there.
This is a place called "Lungnet" and there are many many differt sports you can do in outher timmes! This is outside in a place there Ski competitions is in the winter!
I think Swedes pronounce English words very clearly. E.g. ABBA.
