    About time I looked up those lyrics! "Sun-tanned stranded starfish in a daze" is freakin' brilliant!

    I heard this on Sirius-XM satellite radio yesterday. If you didn't already know, Candy Floss in America is called Cotton Candy.

    Your renditions are really awesome and you play them with such passion and mastery that hearing them is as good as hearing Ian Anderson live himself (nowadays even better, as unfortunately he can bearly sing). Thank you for these awesome videos.

    What makes all of this great is that every song is so different and therefore identifiable. Hearing Stewart's renditions bring me back to the days I would listen to them and what I'd be doing in that time of life. Living in the Past as it were....

      I thought I was the only one who thought that! I kept mentally putting the drums and bass into the song.

    Beautiful rendition.
    Re: Anthony Burgess Autobiography Vol. 1
    He talks about going to Blackpool as a kid/teen.
    Same images... cool.
    "Living in the Past" is a great album.
    And I'm a Yank.
    Peace on earth.

    Buenisimo Stewart !!! Me encanta esa cancion. Aqui en Argentina nuestra Blackpool es Mar del Plata, y lo que descrbe Ian tambien es aplicable . But the sea is not so cold !!!!!

    This song does a fantastic job of painting visuals for me. Being a yank, I have looked up pictures and history but this song has such a great positive and happy vibe. It always puts me in a good when it comes on.

    Who is Edward Pier and why is he getting blamed for the mess?

    • @anthonyandrew6725
      @anthonyandrew6725 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Edward Pier is a play on words of Edward Heath who was the incumbent British Prime Minister at the time Ian Anderson wrote the song. The pier bit is presumably a play on ‘peer’ a hereditary position that some previous Prime Ministers were in ownership of, although Heath wasn’t one of those Anderson can be forgiven for his assumption as he would have grown up with a few. Macmillan, for example.
