Barium Hydroxide and Ammonium Chloride...Initially the lump solids taken is Ba(OH)2 and afterwards the powdered solid poured onto the beaker placed on the wood in NH4Cl2..Hope you got your answer sir

In an exothermic reaction, considering the reaction is a “system”, the energy flows from the system into the surroundings. In an endothermic reaction, the energy flows from the surrounding into the system.
for the endothermic reaction: the reactants have lower energy than their products. so they absorb energy from surroundings. for the second exothermic reaction: the reactants have energy higher than their products and they release this energy while changing to products.
Can someone please answer my question? In the first endothermic reaction, the reactants absorb heat and the enthalpy of the products increase ie internal energy increases but why does temperature drop?!!!
Energy needed for the reaction is absorbed by the reactants from the surrounding environment. So, whatever temperature showed on measuring device is of surrounding not of material it self. And, that's why it shows lowering in temperature because, energy of surrounding is absorbed by reactants. Whatever i write above is as per my understanding, Thank you
@@amymelton3276 No but the probe and the products are in equilibrium (law of thermo) so the temperature of the products is lower too. But in endothermic reactions, the products are at a higher enthalpy. That makes me confused.
I think on your first expreiment that you did for freezing the water into ice is not endothermic. that is called exothermic because water releases head into its surrounding, its temperature lowers, so its freezing point and ice is formed

For the second exothermic experiment, powdered aluminum can be added. The temperature achieved will be much higher 😁

The temp you measured is not from reaction but the surrounding, if reaction absorb heat then the heat of surrounding is decreased
The heat energy goes from the end of the probe into the solution. That makes the probe colder, and that shows as the temperature on the screen.
