    I recognized the photo as a Teuta Matoshi right away, her dresses are so beautiful and I "window shop" her site all the time! Fun fact, her sister Lirika designed the Strawberry Dress that went viral in 2020; a very talented pair 😊 Such a shame that scummy people steal their gorgeous photos to sell pieces of trash like that.

In fact, Mia has spent so much money on dresses and other things, (both for try-on videos and for subscriber giveaways), that Teuta designed her wedding gown AND then gifted it to Mia. And the dress was perfect, it was so very Mia!

    THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON'T ORDER FROM THE ORIGINAL DESIGNERS!!
    The original dress was designed by Teuta Matoshi, and is made with fair labor practices providing kosovian women with stable income and benefits. The designer started out as a Kosovian refugee and works very hard to ensure all of her work is of the highest quality.
    She is also the sister of the infamous Lirika Matoshi Strawberry dress that went viral on tiktok

      That's how dropshipping works. Amazon uses loopholes for this practice, and it works well. Funny enough, you get the same shite on Wish, Temu and Shein for less than half the price. It's mostly sellers, sometimes from the same country, sometimes chinese sellers, who buy in bulk from these stores or in MASSIVE amounts from Alibaba (another trash seller from China, but calls themselves a wholeseller - btw the founder was once the richest man in China, then one day it was suddenly announced that he's gonna retire and sold the store to the chinese government and then he disappeared. From international social media, from national social media, from life, as if he nerver existed) and then sell it one by one through Amazon as sellers.

      I AGREE. FALSE ADVERTISING is a CRIME in the USA, and the buyer can expect compensation when a company does this. But, other countries.....especially the "main one" in the far east, that continually does this, needs to be held accountable for the TRILLIONS of dollars it's been making off of fakes, knock offs and false advertising. Their copying, trade mark infringement, and downright stealing of goods and money need to be stopped. This country MUST be held accountable for putting thousands of OTHER BUSINESSES......OUT of business because of their cheating practices.

    • @kyrakytana
      @kyrakytana 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Ignoring that fact that cheaper materials will often automatically change the look, especially if you use less of them (e.g. tulle) to save on cost, you have to consider the actual work going into these dresses. A dress like this involves boning, padding, pleating and lining. They won't look remotely similar without it, but each of these steps adds additional labour and therefore cost. Even using the cheapest fabric you can find, a dress with this pattern/structure can't be produced for the prices you find on these scam sites.
      I agree that this is fraud, especially since they use stolen designs, but thinking you will get a beaded, boned and pleated dress for under $100 is delusional.

    I once ordered three things online at the same time three different websites. The dresses were more than $100 each. Because I was the mother of the bride, the dresses were conservative, midi length. Dress 1 was the right colour but hung like a sack, and those boobie thingies were lopsided as were the darts pointing in different directions. Dress 2 wasn’t too bad, the fit was good. I ordered burgundy, it came in a shocking red. Dress 3 didn’t arrive at all, and we left the country to my daughter’s home country without that dress. I took those dress overseas with me and the children played dress up. It was too inconvenient, bothersome and expensive for me to return the dresses which I think is what they rely on. I was fortunate to find a dress in store before I left for the wedding. I have never bought online clothes again. We have just returned from my home country, south Africa. I found a shop with the most amazing and well made dresses. I bought a beautiful dress because I think my youngest son is going to pop the question this year. Maybe. And I wanted to have a heads up because at my age it’s not easy to find a dress 😂

    I mean, we don't know what the price point of that Amazon listing is. If it was listed for like $40 that's clearly a nonsense listing & she'd never get anything close to the dress being allegedly sold for that price on Amazon. But if it was listed for upwards of $100 that might seem more reasonable. Obviously the dress in the picture is quite structured, with a boned bodice & worn with multiple petticoats to give the poofy look (at least, that's how it looks to my unprofessional, untrained eyes anyway). To expect a dress of that style & quality for less than $200 seems unrealistic & unreasonable unless you went second hand. So I get she's upset she's been lied to by Amazon dropshipping, & got scammed in the process, but idk how much she paid & how unrealistic she was being. If it was super cheap, at least she got the reality check on something she can clearly refund as not being the listed item

    As this woman looks way too amused, I am guessing that this video is from the recent trend of social media influencers who knowingly buy ridiculously inexpensive "dups" that use the original images of high-priced clothing. I do enjoy these videos as many are quite funny. However, what is not funny is the buyers who are not aware of this situation, looking forward to a big event and end up losing their money. Hopefully channels like Monde's Threads are making more people aware of this scam...so Thank You.

    I’ve had very good luck buying clothes on Amazon and I wear a plus size. It’s extra challenging finding good plus size items, usually. But, I just look very closely at what I’m getting, read the measurements - because 1x with one company is different with another company - and read the reviews. If there’s an issue with the dress, or whatever I’m thinking of buying, you’ll usually see more than one person mention it. I also like to look at the pictures other women post of themselves in the outfit. Of course, we’re all different but it does give you some sense of what you might look like in it.
    If I were going to an important event, I probably wouldn’t buy from Amazon unless it was a brand I was already familiar with.

    At least I know how it felt. Because a year ago, I ordered a cheap knock-off modern Kebaya with span skirt and 10 cm wide shawl (from the same province as mine) but the package was too small, even the same size like for a plain tunic without the embroidery tulle. The size was LOL😂 it's chest circumference should be 90 cm with a tolerance of 2 cm, but it was 96 cm when I measured it (so it was too loose on me).
    If only I can draw armpit line properly (for making the pattern, since I've took some sewing courses) before that time, it won't happen.
    Yep, the price was 10% of the real nice one.

    I ordered my ball gown wedding dress from JJHouse, I paid $139 plus tax. I'm not going to lie, I was nervous, but I got just what I ordered. Only thing, it was 4 inches to long so I had to get it cut. Other than that, it's beautiful and just what I ordered. I plan on wearing it again when we renew our vows. But I plan on getting the top of the dress changed up a little.

    I was just about to comment that the original is clearly a *TEUTA MATOSHI* but you ended up covering it in your vid. I'm emphasizing the name in hopes that people see it and be aware. She is *THE* designer who popularized this style of whimsical, tulle corset dress and there are soooo many fakers on Pinterest, Ebay, Amazon, etc. using images of her dresses to scam people.
    If you EVER see a dress in this style, assume it's a Teuta Matoshi until you can confirm otherwise.

    I remember being a young teen in the 80’s and pouring over just about every formal dress magazine that I could get my hands on, and I loved looking at the dresses. The dresses that we wore at our prom were either altered vintage dresses or prom dresses from the department store. I still love the idea of altering a vintage dress and one always must be careful when buying online. Nothing is sadder than spending money on something that arrives “useless”, when one could have just expected a “little less”, and for “that less”, in price. It’s buyer beware and the beginning of prom season is the worst time of year for young people to start looking. RIP to those young wallets. ❤️‍🩹

    Take it to a reputable cleaner and have it professionally pressed. Did so with a satin brocade dress I had made and the results were far better than I could have accomplished at home. With these random fabric contents and fussy detail it's worth it to have a pro do it. I think the satin wedding dress mom and I made my sister also went to the cleaner to be pressed professionally.

    • @wendybutler1681
      @wendybutler1681 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sometimes pressing won't help. Gotta understand those models have shapewear and tape going on under the dresses and you're probably gonna need the same. If you're gonna dress like a big girl you start at the skin and work outwards. You can rarely just pop on a dress if you want eleganza extravaganza, dahling! Glamour can be painful!

    I feel badly for all of those poor young ladies expecting their dream dresses and thinking that this is what they are going to get. I wish I could create some kind of nonprofit to save these poor girls. I remember working three jobs just to pay for prom dress and limousine and when the limo came to pick me up it was not the limo I payed for but it was a funeral limousine with aisle seats and non tinted windows. It was hard to get by that after work my but off, paying 350.00 just to pick up and drop off at prom. And I had to cab it back home. I just couldn’t get past it 😢
