- Hey guys, Saker here - once again with the Viggen! My friends and I took our planes up on my squadron's server for a little hit-and-run raid. This is a route we take often, known in our group as a bit of a milk run. As such, don't expect anything to be taken seriously! Hope you enjoy :)

I feel like Viggens has a really fast playstyle compared to something like the F16 or the F/A18
and that looks really fun
It sure is an adrenaline rush, but it's not as capable as the 4+ gen fighters. But in my opinion, way more fun!

Honestly love the viggen and just getting to the stage now where I'm learning how to properly use all the air to ground weapons then I can try and take on missions like these! Love the video BTW and please keep flying the thunder duck!

8:14 as a swede I can confirm. It is funny to confuse Americans by telling them they should use the "Automatisk Fart Systemet" I think that's what we call it. The AFK level to ur back left, right next to the data cartridge

Yeah, he surprised me with that! We found that doing that roll puts the wingman at a perfect line-abreast formation. We may be doing that more often now ;)

Nice flying! I love watching the Viggen but I’m too intimidated by the Swedish to learn it.
Don't be intimidated! It is very simple once you make that initial break-through. And then it is very fun to fly. I'll get back to making some basic tutorials in it.

Viggen might not be as capeble as an f18 or f16 but it has a special place in my heart

Anyways. Awesome viggen video. I love playing with that plane in dcs. It’s loads of fun. Quickly became a favorite module for me.
There are 2 knobs to change the maverick screen in brightness and contrast. I dont know why no one on TH-cam uses them but it makes seeing things a lot easier ;)

where in dcs can you see the local winds/air pressure for different areas/airports? I usually try to tune to radio stations on the radio that are supposed to be giving the weather information but I could never hear anything.
You know, I'm not sure how ATIS works in DCS. In real life of course, you have the ATIS frequency. In DCS, I believe there is an option in the mission editor, but I'll look into it and get back to you.
In the DCS Viggen specifically, the QFE of each waypoint can be found in the kneeboard card that I keep pulling up, automatically generated as you place a waypoint on the map, as the plane is so reliant on this information.
Ok so it looks like ATIS in DCS is only provided through a server-side script, and is relayed to you through the SRS mod. So it would only work on multiplayer servers that have it set up, like Hoggit. I guess the base DCS game as it exists does not have ATIS feature built-in.

Jammer question. I thought it is a DCSism that jamming only lowers the radar cross-section of the AC with the pod. Can a Viggen with a pod support others without one?

This is a skin that my friend made, so that our squadron could "look right" operating in a desert. He picked and averaged colors from the Syria map to make it!
