- Brief display about the celebration of LAONIH in Tungjoy village. The customary LAONIH is the biggest festival of the Sepoumaramth Nagas marks the conclusion of the plantation season.
It is a Thanksgiving festival to the deity for successful completion of plantation and protection of crops. In olden days it continues for 15days. An unbleshed cow is sacrificed to the deity . Each family offers meats and rice to the deity which is kept at the main beam of the house.
Eating, drinking and merrymaking are the chief aims of the feasts.
During this festival, the Brother sent meat piece to all the married sisters which signified safeguard and protection to their life
With the coming of Christianity
Nowadays the festival last only for 2 or 3 Days.
