A legend... I will try to tell you you his story as best i can.. Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in Paris at the age of 74. He was buried on a French island he loved, Saint-Barthélémy. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. In 57 years of career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 songs were turned into music videos or scopitones. 758 authors and composers collaborated with him. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten pieces for other artists. He also wrote and co-wrote a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that he was heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the sponsorship of "Line Renaud", he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." And the great "Charles Aznavour" believed in his talent from the beginning and wrote him a few songs because he was convinced that Johnny would go very far and have a very great career and he was not wrong !! Johnny even lived for two years with Charles and his family. Johnny always considered Charles as his spiritual father. And even the great "Edith Piaf" came to see his first concert at the Olympia in 1961 !! 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victories or Special Victories or Music Honor Victory. And 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 110 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of "Mon pays c'est l'amour" (51st album) (posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No.1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny went on more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career, having given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost complete works have been recorded in audio and video. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 10,000 members in total). Johnny is also an actor with no less than 43 films (including appearances) to his credit throughout his career. He received a "Jean Gabin" award in 2004 for the film "L'homme du train". Johnny was a good actor, but the films they offered him were not good films, unfortunately.. He dreamed of being an actor and not a singer, but life decided otherwise, and fortunately so!! Johnny was a great friend of animals, he always had dogs in his life, the animal cause was close to his heart, in 2002 he performed a magnificent song against those who abandon their animals. The song is titled "Au bord des routes" from the magnificent album "À la vie à la mort." In 2016, a year before his death, he was on a motorcycle road trip with friends on American roads, and it was then that he found an abandoned puppy by the side of the road. He couldn't resist and adopted her; the little dog is named "Cheyenne." He also performed a song that recalls the Tian'anmen square protests in beijing in june 1989, the brutal repression, the barbaric massacre by chinese authorities of students and workers who denounced government corruption. The song is titled "Tien an men" from the album "Ça ne change pas un homme" from 1991. He was a man with a big heart. He also performed a song that is a hymn to love, peace and freedom. The song is titled "Essayez" from the album "Vie" from 1970 that he sang throughout his career. He was made a knight of the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a knight of the Arts and Letters since 1995. He has sung in several languages (English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese and German). By listening to his songs, you will realize that this great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone: rock'n'roll, rhythm and blues, soul, psychedelic rock, soft rock, pop rock, rockabilly, country, a rock opera album (Hamlet) from 1976 (This album was ahead of its time). A unique voice... His voice has continued to evolve over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world!! He brought together the rich, the less wealthy, and the poor. He brought together several generations. He gave exceptional concerts, with wild entrances like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, entering from the back of the stadium and parading through the crowd for three consecutive nights. (no one had done that before him). and he did it again in 2013 at Bercy, in 1998 he arrived by helicopter above the Stade de France, in 1984 at the Zenith he emerged from a giant hand (they had to break a wall to get the hand above the stage), in 2012 at the Stade de France he arrived in a giant flying ball resembling a mine, which landed on stage, and so on. Here are some songs: Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe, Si tu pars, Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre, Ça ne change pas un homme, True to you, Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Moulin à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence, Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Made in rock'n'roll, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, J'ai pleuré sur ma guitare, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom(duet with Carmel), Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, J'ai épousé une ombre, Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Parties de cartes, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Te manquer, Noir c'est noir, Love affair(duet with Kathy Mattea), Une lettre à l'enfant que j'étais. As a French kid i grew up in 90's with my dad listening to Johnny's musics, he was not even a singer of my generation but it just putted a hole in my heart (and i bet i'm not alone) when he died. we will never have a singer like him who touched every generation's hearts anymore. This song bring me to tear everytime.

We truly love this song full of passion. Listen to a very romantic song from Johnny Halliday of the sixties "Que je t'aime" dedicated to the mother of his son David Halliday. David started with percussion and played on one of his father's concerts. Later they both sang together.

In France all people know one song of Johnny Hallyday. He was the best singer in France. Song written by Jean Jacques Goldman ( Goldman a good name for the gold writter. ) He wrote a lot of Céline Dion's songs too. Kisses from France 21h50 near Rochefort 21 th March
Fun fact: I almost died while my mom gave me birth. To cope with this fear, my dad listened to this song. So, yeah, this song has a lot of meaning to me
In fact, JJG acted just as the same way he will later with Céline Dion : force singers to learn to sing the « right » way : serving the song, not the show.
Yep songwriter, composer : JJG. And you must listen le chanteur abandonné and quelque chose de Tenesse composed and songwitten by Michel Berger for Johnny.
I’m so glad you finally discover this song (one of my favorite song of all Time with « l’adieu » of garou). What a pleasure to re-listen this song and to see you going and react to this. Ps : if you do one day « jojo » from Jacques brel (the lyrics are just the best), you would make my day. Keep going
Je te promets le sel au baiser de ma bouche Je te promets le miel à ma main qui te touche Je te promets le ciel au dessus de ta couche Des fleurs et des dentelles pour que tes nuits soient douces ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I promise you salt at the kiss of my lips I promise you honey at the touch of my hand I promise you the sky above your bed Flowers and laces to make your nights sweet I promise you the key to the secrets of my soul I promise you life, from my laughter to my tears I promise you fire instead of weapons No more farewell, only see you later I believe in it as in the earth, I believe in it as in the sun I believe in it like a child, as one can believe in heaven I believe in it as in your skin, in your arms that hold me tight I promise you a story unlike any other I need so much to believe again I promise you days as blue as your veins I promise you nights as red as your dreams Incandescent hours and white minutes Carefree seconds to the rhythm of your hips I promise you my arms to carry your anguish I promise you my hands for you to kiss I promise you my eyes if you can no longer see I promise to be happy if you have no hope I believe in it as in the earth, I believe in it as in the sun I believe in it like a child, like one can believe in heaven I believe in it as in your skin, in your arms that hold me tight I promise you a story unlike any other If you help me believe again And even if it's not true, if you heard it too many times If the words are worn out, as if written in chalk You can make a big fire by rubbing pebbles together Patiently, by dint of belief We can just try and see And even if it's not true, even if I'm lying If words are worn, light as wind And even if our story ends in the morning I promise you a moment of fever and sweetness Not all night but just a few hours... I promise you salt at the kiss of my lips I promise you honey at the touch of my hand I promise you the sky above your bed Flowers and laces to make your nights sweet
This one and "Laura" are favorites of Johnny. I've never been into his "yelling" performances. 😄 But I love his ballads. A Goldman song. "I'll make you a promise". "Laura" is dedicated to his daughter Laura Smet. 🙂 This should be your next react. Don't trust the TH-cam algorithm, trust us. 🙂
Hello, I think if you like songs like this were there is power in the voice of the singer I recommend you "Voilà" of Barbara Pravi. She was second on the eurovison. So I think you will like it
Hi Dereck, don't know we're to make suggestions so I'll let it here 😁 you could listen to French singer Ben Mazue, very talented. His songs "Quand je marche" and "J'attends" featuring Pomme, are awesome ! Among many others 💙
Derick .. please react to the 12" version of No More Tears (Enough is Enough) by Donna Summer & Barbra Streisand ... you will love it .. a powerhouse of two strong and excellent female vocalists
That's because Pop songs often connect the verse and chorus via a pre-chorus, with a bridge section usually appearing after the second chorus. The verse and chorus are usually repeated throughout a song, while the intro, bridge, and coda are usually only used once. For this song Goldman used a crescendo base which allow Johnny to showcase his amazing range, there is no chorus (we say chorus in english not "refrain")
In France, each time Jean-Jacques Golman put his hands on a song, it is a hit.
france is it this country with macron the fool??

You really need to listen "J'oublierai ton nom" (Also JH)
the concluding part is missing in the video with the magnificent piano notes :(
In live Johnny is the Best
Yep songwriter, composer : JJG. And you must listen le chanteur abandonné and quelque chose de Tenesse composed and songwitten by Michel Berger for Johnny.
The God Jean Jacques Goldman !

Keep going
You are the proof that Goldman is borderless, a musical genius.
He wrote the best songs of Celine Dion and so many others…
Magnifique
Original lyrics with translation :
J'ai tant besoin d'y croire encore

I promise you salt at the kiss of my lips
I promise you honey at the touch of my hand
I promise you the sky above your bed
Flowers and laces to make your nights sweet
I promise you the key to the secrets of my soul
I promise you life, from my laughter to my tears
I promise you fire instead of weapons
No more farewell, only see you later
I believe in it as in the earth, I believe in it as in the sun
I believe in it like a child, as one can believe in heaven
I believe in it as in your skin, in your arms that hold me tight
I promise you a story unlike any other
I need so much to believe again
I promise you days as blue as your veins
I promise you nights as red as your dreams
Incandescent hours and white minutes
Carefree seconds to the rhythm of your hips
I promise you my arms to carry your anguish
I promise you my hands for you to kiss
I promise you my eyes if you can no longer see
I promise to be happy if you have no hope
I believe in it as in the earth, I believe in it as in the sun
I believe in it like a child, like one can believe in heaven
I believe in it as in your skin, in your arms that hold me tight
I promise you a story unlike any other
If you help me believe again
And even if it's not true, if you heard it too many times
If the words are worn out, as if written in chalk
You can make a big fire by rubbing pebbles together
Patiently, by dint of belief
We can just try and see
And even if it's not true, even if I'm lying
If words are worn, light as wind
And even if our story ends in the morning
I promise you a moment of fever and sweetness
Not all night but just a few hours...
I promise you salt at the kiss of my lips
I promise you honey at the touch of my hand
I promise you the sky above your bed
Flowers and laces to make your nights sweet
My bro it's not happy to watch but see the videos of his funeral in paris to understand
Oh my Dereck 💗💗💗😚💋
This one and "Laura" are favorites of Johnny. I've never been into his "yelling" performances. 😄 But I love his ballads. A Goldman song. "I'll make you a promise". "Laura" is dedicated to his daughter Laura Smet. 🙂 This should be your next react. Don't trust the TH-cam algorithm, trust us. 🙂
R.I.P Johnny Hallyday
I love
React to 'Laura' the song that he sang for his daughter.

Hello, I think if you like songs like this were there is power in the voice of the singer I recommend you "Voilà" of Barbara Pravi. She was second on the eurovison. So I think you will like it
❤❤❤
❤
Hi Dereck, don't know we're to make suggestions so I'll let it here 😁 you could listen to French singer Ben Mazue, very talented. His songs "Quand je marche" and "J'attends" featuring Pomme, are awesome ! Among many others 💙
Derick .. please react to the 12" version of No More Tears (Enough is Enough) by Donna Summer & Barbra Streisand ... you will love it .. a powerhouse of two strong and excellent female vocalists
And guess who wrote this song ? JJG, of course !
I want to adore this song but I keep waiting for a refrain that never arrives. It's like he is stuck on an infinite bridge.
Mylène !
YES !
