Hahahaha so the Solar Eclipse has been a “once in a lifetime event”, the Aurora Lights in areas of Australia were “once in a lifetime events”, and all of these constant floods are “once in a lifetime events”, and yet I am 37 and have seen these every few years?

Yip, and super volcano's which happen once in every 300,000 years I can think of 3 that have happened in the last 2000 years 🤔

Yeah it's like the 1 in 100 year floods that happened here in Brisbane in 1953 and 2011 and nearly happened 2 other times in the same period.
It's just mother nature crying her eyes out at the stupidity of main stream media.
It just so happens Brisbane is built on a flood plain.
There is a river flowing through the middle of it.
Where has all the common sense gone.
I purchased my property during a very wet cycle and could see where and how easy it was to alleviate the pooled water areas. I just copied my neighbour's guttering ideas. It was as easy as that

There's nothing strange about this district. If we cut down all the trees, won't the water flood into people's houses? Or is it because the government built houses in low-lying areas? Or is it climate change? Who is right?

Combination of everything, the southern ocean is warming up and at a faster rate than the other oceans. This affects everything from changing ocean currents, winters in Victoria being warmer increased rainfalls and humidity in Victoria. Etc so basically Melbourne is slowly becoming a tropical state. You can only imagine what Queensland will be like. The north will surely be like Indonesia eventually.

Councils need to clear the drains.

Unprecedented....you keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means. Meanwhile, the council just collect revenue and do nothing.

"A land of drought and flooding rain." When councils allow developers to build on flood plains, and remove vast numbers of trees, and we have a massive increase in population, and there is slackness in keeping drains clear, and drainage from multiple new homes where maybe one home originally was sited overcomes the old, antiquated original drainage pipes all contribute to the dramatic flash flooding we are witnessing, IMO. Climate has been changing for thousands upon thousands of years. The Sahara Desert was once green. Maybe Aussie children would be better off learning Dorothea MacKellar's wonderful poem 'My Country' instead of perhaps learning to dance with a plant on your head and smoke in your eyes.

No we need to build a pipe inland from the Queensland Rivers which they've been talking about for 100 years but no one wants to pay for it

Stop clearing land and building and laying more concrete which causes runoff. Council needs to stop letting developers build in flood-known areas.
