While I have enormous respect for the Pilgrims and the early settlers that established America on a solid biblical foundation, it's sad that so many of them admitted they had no assurance of their salvation. A lot of them went to their death hoping they were one of the elect rather than knowing they were saved by Christ's promise.
For a long time, I used to think Perseverance of the Saints was the same as Eternal Security, but it's not. The funny thing is that Calvinists and Arminians will argue they're the polar opposites of each other, but practically they're actually the same. Arminians believe that if you don't continuously persevere in good works, you'll backslide and you can backslide enough that you'll lose your salvation. Calvinists believe that if you don't continuously persevere in good works, then you must not be one of the elect.
Looking forward to watching this 👍
