Music genres such as High Energy, Italo disco, Pre Rave house music among many other late 70s, 80s styles and sub categories were originally just simple new amazing creations or sound experiments created by the genious of fine quality music producers of their time. Never meant nothing else, anybody independently of their taste in bed danced and enjoyed it and didn't gave a trash can about nothing. The reason why most of the same sex lovers and the trans/drags indentity movements adopted this music was due it's underground, cult & clandestine status which matched the ones of their own, so by being so unknown and commercially oposite to the popular mainstream of then it found a home in their communities managing to survive in clubs, cabarets, bars, smoke shops, cafes and other private zones. Sadly, during mid 90s most of these experiments vanished by the raise of modern EDM and hip-hop and what remains today are only carbon recycles made by cult fans and gender identity bushleagues. Some are ok, but never the same. Music has no gender or identity, and if there is something I like more than women and this music alone, is hot women who dance to this music ! So enjoy it withouth second thoughts!
