    Mother tongue is supreme.

Urdu is a language of divisiveness, of supremacist ideology which divided India, which killed 3 million bengalis, which suppressed 1000s of years of sindhi and Baloch heritage.
And which made 12 crore Pakistani Punjabis think that their mother tongue Punjabi is so much inferior to Urdu ( UP ki Zubaan ) that their kids can't read Punjabi at school and they feel ashamed of their kids speak Punjabi instead of Urdu.
Koi zubaan achi ya buri nahi hoti, buri hoti hai us zubaan ko bolney walo ki fake sense of Superiority, aur us zuban mein parvaan chadti ideology.
History of Urdu is a black history of radicalism,of classicist oppression of non-urdu speaking people.

Defeat of supremacist ideology espoused by Urdu is recognized by UN as International Language ( mother tongue ) Day.
In 1948, the then Government of Pakistan declared Urdu to be the sole national language of Pakistan even though Bengali or Bangla was spoken by the majority of people combining East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and West Pakistan (now Pakistan) The East Pakistan people protested, since the majority of the population was from East Pakistan and their mother language was Bangla. They demanded Bangla to be at least one of the national languages, in addition to Urdu. The demand was raised first by Dhirendranath Datta from East Pakistan on 23 February 1948, in the constituent Assembly of Pakistan.
To demolish the protest, the government of Pakistan outlawed public meeting and rallies. The students of the University of Dhaka, with the support of the general public, arranged massive rallies and meetings. On 21 February 1952, police opened fire on rallies. Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar and Shafiur died, with hundreds of others injured. This is a rare incident in history, where people sacrificed their lives for their mother tongue.

Salam, Respected mam I, listened to some of your audios an appreciate the wisdom in that, however with due respect I beg to differ on your opinion about the importance of URDU which I believe has only poetic importance we don't have any original text or research in urdu even we don't have translations of all the subjects that are taught in career oriented fields and yes I am in favor of the private schools discouraging their pupils to converse in URDU even during the non curricular time as they would have enough exposure to URDU after schools, this time is giving them practice to be fluent and comfortable with the language which is considered an international passport these days. Though I thoroughly enjoy the different amazing poets but that's a high price to pay for not being fluent in English.
