I don’t like slogan car stickers but one I saw on a motorbike in Devon was perfect. It said…… “Do you believe in life after death? Touch this motorbike and find out for yourself “

Years a go, I returned to my bike from grabbing a few bits in a supermarket and..... My bike 'Suddenly' was in 6th gear! Yeah... SIXTH! 🤔🤨 WTF? I soon made a sticker for the tank "If you'd like to keep your fingers, DO NOT touch my bike!" 😏 😎🇬🇧

I share a driveway with my older brother and often times I find him casually sitting on my bike watching videos on his phone. He taught me how to ride and owns a more valuable bike than mine so it doesn’t bother me at all. A stranger would be a totally different story though.

I was at Donington Park some years ago. Arrived in the car park and was taking my helmet off. About five bikes away from where I parked up, in rows of hundreds of bikes, was a mint Ducati 916. Numerous folk wandering around as you would expect. A family of four wandered up. Clearly not bikers; very smartly dressed, well heeled types (probably own a big posh 4x4 of some description). Bloke, trophy wife, plus two kids. One about 6 years old, one about 8. Dad says to his two kids, "look, Ducati, how cool is that!?" Older kid then gets picked up and sat on the bikes seat! Wife gets her phone out to take a photo. Dad then grabs the younger kid and sits her down on top of the Ducatis petrol tank!!! Takes photos and off they go to to treat someone else's pride and joy as a kids playground. Imagine if that guy had come back to find me taking photos of my kids on the bonnet of his car... Would that have been ok? Rule no. 1: Do as you would be done by.

Yes teaching respect for others is something parents seem to forget or dont care about anymore. Im only 29 I sound like an old guy haha, but some new generation kids are very diss-respectfull nowadays, and saying something about it? Even 6 year olds scream and curse at you.

Sadly in this story it seems it's the parents that haven't learnt it, so they've no means to teach! The cycle continues

I used to sit in my mum's or dads cars while they went shopping etc and I'd be playing with the controls pretending I was driving etc. They'd return and the chokes on, main beams on, windscreen wipers, fog lights, demisters etc all on and they'd be like was this you? Being dumb I'd say no wasn't me.😂

If im looking at a bike and I want to take a close look at something i put both hands behind my back as I lean in, to make it really obvious that I'm not going to touch anything just in case the owner is watching. Because that would make me feel more comfortable if someone was looking that closely at my bike .

Happened to me a few weeks ago Spicy, took my Wife down to the Cotswolds and we left the bike parked at the side of the road whilst we had a walk along the river. As we came back we were gobsmacked to see a bloke sitting on my Triumph Thunderbird while his friend was taking his photo. I have a feeling he was a foreign tourist because we both shouted at him to get off the bike and he just gave us a huge grin and stuck his thumbs up like he didn't understand. I'm pretty chill about it but fortunately for him we had to cross a road because I think my Wife would have battered him lol. Anyway by the time we crossed the road he had got off and was walking off with his mate and I calmed my Wife down by taking her for lunch 🤣

Had something similar a couple of years ago. The WW2 living history group I belong to put on a small display at a 40's themed wedding and I took my Enfield as part of the display (it was outside the display as we were under a canvas shelter to keep the sun off us) I was inside, chatting to people about the various bits and pieces we had out and then I hear a shout from the other member of the group, who'd nipped off to use the facilities, saying something to the effect of "oi! He's got to get home on that!" I poked my head outside and saw a rather voluptuous lady trying to get off my bike!! She started to have a go at us saying stuff like "if you didn't want people to sit on it, why did you bring it?" I calmly replied "if you had asked before taking the liberty, I quite probably would have said yes, but now you've ruined it for everyone else." When I'm at a show with the bike, I'm quite happy to let people sit on it as long as I am with it and they ask first.

I had a kid wanting to rev my bike. I was fine with it but said only a little because the engine was somewhat cold. He did half then tried to redline it. Luckley, i was holding the end to stop him.

Tbh I was thinking at the start "God I wish I could park my bike in a tesco car park round here without it getting nicked"
Bikes have become completely unusable as primary transport round here (North East) because it'll be gone if you take your eye off it for 10 minutes. The UK is well and truly finished man

I did a trip down Route 66 some years ago and kept bumping into a group of four Norwgians who had shipped their choppers to America and were also doing the Route 66 trip. In a town called Seligman I saw their choppers parked and a group of foreign tourists getting on and off as each posed for a picture on the choppers. I saw the Norwegian's down the street and rode up to tell them what was heppening with their bikes. They took off down the street at a run. I kept going because I don't like the sight of blood!

I came out of a pub once and found someone had moved my bike, steering lock and all, so that they could park in the space that I had taken!
I found them and after a few choice words that I won't go into here as the comment would probably be removed, I warned them that, should they have done it to certain bikers, they would be sampling hospital food for a while!!

We get this a lot where I live, in Hong Kong. People constantly moving bikes so they can have their parking spot. You run the risk of a $320 (about £30) fine for illegal parking if you are outside the lines, so people will move a bike so they can squeeze in between two other bikes. I hate it.

People need to be raised better, 'cus "look with your eyes" should be hard wired into everyone. Sitting on it is of course the most egregious, because a slight nudge forward over the tipping point for the stand and down goes moto. I've had that conversation with someone sat on my bike before, and I said to them "if this was a convertible car parked here with the roof down, would you just climb in?" They were dumb-founded, like they'd not even considered it that way.

I worked in a greggs drive thru for a bit, took my bike a few times. The last time was when a 10yr kid climbed onto it. I ran out to tell him to get off his grandparents just said "oh sorry" . The guy who saw it happen as he walked in was corrected in saying "that's what happens when you can't give a kid a slap on the wrist or tap on the back of the head anymore".
What would happen if my bike fell and the kids leg was trapped. Not a big bike but a cb500x is a decent size tbh.

Not a touching bike story but had some guy try to use the water on the air pump when I was pumping up my tires last week, he parked his car so close to the front of my bike. I explained to him that he’d have to wait as the water requires a separate payment, he then decided to get heated. Luckily, his wife had a bit of sense and called him back in the car, at that point he wheel spun his car out of the petrol station.

In China people seem to think your bike is for their pleasure. I’ve had to yell on several occasions when people walk up and sit on my bike. One time a young woman burnt her leg on the exhaust and had the nerve to scold me. It’s the culture here but I don’t subscribe to it. I have gone so far as to pack a fog horn so when I encounter these twits I engage the loud horn. Gets their attention.

My dad caught a child sitting on my bike outside a shopping mall, the grandma laughing and making pictures, my dad was pretty angry he said haha, but yeah thats how we teach young kids respect and to not touch anyones stuff nowadays? You just letting them touch and sit on someones stuff? The dirty foot prints were on the saddle and tank aswell.

The only problem with this story is unless you actually saw him physically touch the bike, you are simply making an assumption that it was this guy, now may be it was but may be it wasn't, it could have been another person who messed with the switch before he looked at the bike, just making an observation point on what appears to be an assumption on your part, we all hate it when random people fiddle with the bike, but in this case you sound adamant it was this perticular guy, when it may not have been if you see my point.

Got to be careful with assuming it was that guy you saw who pushed the button. He might not have been the first to take a look. You'd look pretty foolish if he was the last of a few who'd admired it, and the others had left before you exited the shop, and then you let rip into him.
