Edithvale Wetlands is a marvelous place to photograph and enjoy the wildlife, mainly the bird life, this is another great place to visit and see the wildlife in this amazing wetland.
This is a short video displaying the Australian Pied Cormorant - Phalacrocorax varius, gular fluttering, this enables the birds to reduce the heat from their body on a warm day. Amazing day. 3-10-2024.
The Edithvale wetlands bird hide is locked behind gates and is opened between the hours of 1pm - 5pm Saturday & Sunday, by volunteers of FESWI, for more information about FESWI and the bird hide, please visit www.edithvale-... and or on the FESWI Facebook page, we display what days that the bird hide is open and when it is closed on the weekend, entry is always free, just sign in a book to record your visit and maybe a gold coin donation, the only provision is that there needs to be water, as this wetland is ephemeral at times there is no water and without water the bird life is very scarce, then the bird hide will be closed.
