In my opinion, If Neuhaus had been able to pull this off with less mistakes, it would be the best out there th-cam.com/video/uCaneeZFPWo/w-d-xo.html. The stylistic choices and the overall "energy" of the piece are perfect. As it is, I prefer Zhukov's recording because he played it without so many mistakes.

Sounds pretty, but macabre. There is no tragedy, but no intimacy either. Horowitz had intimacy. But he was not the fallen hero. The piano spoke back...to Horowitz, perhaps carrying a message of Scriabin.
