i watched bleach last year for the first time after OP, Naruto , JoJo, Deathnote and a few others i can safely say that it has a special place in my heart so many things pull towards perfection. The characters, the society, the power the humor and the struggle , the will to fight and the will to survive everything feels so real all the set up is 99% perfect.
Unohana's foreshadowing was brilliant; you get this running gag of everyone (even Squad 11 who are blood knights) being afraid of her, even Aizen who's a brilliant mastermind was cautious of her, then when you find out who she used to be, then everything starts to make sense.
I think that effect on the eyes was a bad decision. Her empty, calm eyes, reflecting absolute nothing is legit nightmare fuel, and that blue glow just makes them... well, worse by a mile, whey dont seem frightening at all.

Unohana best character soul society place, talk only when it's necessary, strong presence, intelligence high ++, terrifying bankai also deadly strong and helpfull in situation of team, her manner of dancing with her blade is one of the most beautiful I seen... the bad things : she doesn't have a better role than a little one, and this part of the story is the only good moment of her story... I'm very sad... living like a criminal, improve herself to be a good person, dying like she thinks her life is done by accomplishing duty... I dislove that.
Her Bankai covers her blade and the surroundings in a red and highly corrosive acid. That's also one of the reasons why she had to master healing. She needs to constantly heal herself to not be digested by her own powers. We see this on Zaraki when his face turns into a skull.
Loved the fight but her death was so pointless and badly designed. It was terrible writing just used to make matters more desperate in coming fights. Her whole thing was she learned healing so she could survive and continue fighting, and she doesn't heal herself?! Seriously wtf?!
This is entirely true and despite the fact that she is my favorite character I have for a long time hated this choice that I found incoherent and which is still inconsistent knowing that with Unohana in addition in their ranks the shinigamis would have destroyed the Wandenreich with much more ease. But today years later and with the situation of Bleach having evolved a lot and with the famous Hell arc that will arrive soon or late, I tell myself that it may not be so much a bad idea since we know from the one shot Unohana will be a central point of the arc with Ukitake and maybe Yamaji, and the character will be fully exploited so in the end we will see her again despite everything.
Literally Bette character then 90 percent of the cast, it wouldn't be anything wrong to have her life as the previous kenpachi, I don't get why such a well foreshadowed and built up character was killed for no reason

The kenpachi title can only be passed on by killing the kenpachi, currently holding the title. That is why she tried so hard to make zaraki stop holding back because she knew that in order for him to take the title he needs to kill her. She new he would not want to kill her as she is the only one that he feels that he can have fun with in battle. Once zaraki stopped holding back that where it was symbolized that he has already surpassed unahona.
