You won't be just fine AT ALL 🤣 There is AI that can already do advanced surgery, robots that can lift and carry much more weight than any man can. I even had an AI arm make me a mixed drink at a VR experience at the end of last year, no human being needed at all - I paid for the drink contactless on a tablet and then the robot arm got to making my drink and placed it down for me neatly in the small collection area.
We already have less sophisticated robots than can vacuum our home floors so it really is only a matter of time before a range of tasks and jobs done by human hands will be replicated by robots. In Japan they have robots in supermarkets that stock the shelves which are controlled REMOTELY by people at home... This could literally be a 16 year old kid who is happy to work from home and be paid less than some 30-50 year old who doesn't have the IQ for much more jobs than stacking shelves at Tesco.
When we think of HGVs currently driven by men, a large chunk of these will be replaced by simply an army of drones that dispatch items individually to the destination, stopping at one or more points along the way to recharge - but because they're aerial they can avoid roads, and traffic and will never need to contend with a human driver needing a toilet break, to have his lunch or to sleep at night... Lightweight items will be absolutely completely covered by drone delivery in the next 10 years, both products from manufacturer/source to retail and direct to consumer. This will leave only the larger and heavier objects that may require a matrix of drones to work together and/or a heavier duty drone that can carry a larger load.
That's only a handful of tasks we're talking about. 70-90% of jobs will likely end up being replaced by AI or robots, and it will not distinguish been white or blue collar when it really starts gaining significant traction.

@@BryJovi17Have you any idea how much cargo is shipped, flown, and moved in trucks around the world every day? Drones? 😂😂 Yes, maybe there will be drones dropping off the small local packages, but there's MILLIONS of tons being moved between continents.
Your VR coffee idea is fantasy too. Have you ever been to Spain or Italy? Have you any idea what the café scene is like in these countries? A robot arm won't be taking over any time soon.
It's all well and good to imagine some scifi future where robots are doing all the work, but when when break it all down and think these scenarios through practically VS the current robot technology available it's fantasy.

They already have nurse 'robots' of humanoid form in Japan because they are at the front of the pack when it comes to a growing ageing population which is leading to an inverse population pyramid (i.e. majority of the population are old/retired).
Japan has not had enough children over the last few decades to sufficiently achieve the replacement birth rate and so there are now not enough people of working age able to support the size of the elderly population. This is only going to get worse over the next 20-40 years. Similarly this is going to inevitably happen in many western countries where the replacement birth rate is not being met - USA, UK, Italy, Greece, etc.

I wonder... we are going to see AI reduce the need for many employees in many industries. Some of these impacts will be hard to predict.
However, we have an awful lot of unskilled immigration and many of them have little love for this nation. How will they respond when there is no work and the streets aren't paved with gold? Will they leave/stay quietly? I don't think so, we have seen these people rioting in many nations, demanding better treatment than natives whilst abusing natives in the streets.
Sometimes I think that the Globalists want to create anarchy to impose their authoritarian solution. Already I see people calling for comprehensive centralized digital ID cards to help solve the problem, more speech controls, more limitations on freedom, more Nanny State aka Big Mother.

Many of these jobs have been moved off shore anyway so it might not impact the British labour market as much as people assume. My experience of new technology is that it tends to creates more work for those that are left use it. Before I retired, the introduction of new technology by my employer resulted in the support workers for the admin side of the field employees job were phased out, the field workers then having to do the admin as well as their own job. Needless to say there was no increase in salary to reflect the extra work which the company denied existed of course, claiming that the new technology was taking care of everything so it should only take a few minutes extra to complete the task. Yeah, right.

Look when PCs came along we wouldn't need administrative staff, when compilers came along we wouldn't need programmers, when email came along we wouldn't need postmen etc. We know what chatGPT is - it is a LLM that is essentially a generalised but tunable approximation model of, at its crudest, word prediction/completion. It doesn't have intent and it can't think on its feet even it gives that impression. It may reduce the number of workers or the type of work they do in some sectors but it won't get rid of them all or even 50%.

When your strong point is your human brain (as an Aspie I have sharp memory and logical problem solving intelligence but no social skills), AI is the end of paid employment. I went back to Uni and started a PostGrad Dip in Translation Studies in 2019 (German-English). In the course of the year it became obvious that I had to relinquish any human aspect to the machine (Computer Assisted Translation) which was frankly using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. The human translator had become a machine operator grinding through tedious repetitive text. The only translation work now available which actually uses human skills is in the literary field, for which you basically need to be a writer yourself. As AI gets even better, I'm sure even human literary translation will become obsolete.

No, humans - who may or may not like you - are taking over using machines with superior intellectual capabilities.
Don't think it like automation, because that's really what we've already had since computers were invented.
      Think of it like this...
There are two human accountants, Jill and Jessica, in your company, manually doing the accounts, using nothing more than a pencil, paper and obviously a ruler to draw straight lines, like in the old days.
      Jill has a calculator.
Jessica does not have a calculator.
Which worker will be the most productive?
      That's literally how it works.
AI simply just cognises hard to comprehend concepts, the same way a calculator cognises hard to comprehend calculations.
The automation aspect is not related to AI, as the automation has always existed, just without the ability to cognise hard to comprehend concepts.

Lost credibility when she accused Elon Musk for saying that many people will loose their job to AI and it is not a bad thing. Elon Musk don’t say that on many interviews I watched of him.
Had to stop watching the interview propaganda and use my time to see something more credible

Times change and 2020 was a turning point in history. Folk opened Pandora's Box and saw the Transistor and Micro chip not knowing the Micro Chip is a bad design that can be hacked, cracked, wacked and jacked due to it's symmetrical design. Hahaha. The Human race are obsolete by 2050.

That's part of the fun. Its the news equivalent of queuing up to see the Elephant Man. As a bonus you then get to look at the Stockholm Syndrome in the comments section as all the Turkeys loudly clamour for Christmas and bemoan the fact that Christmas would be just fine if it wasn't for all the sprouts coming over here and hogging the gravy, blissfully unaware that the sprouts have very little to do with the fact they're getting plucked stuffed and carved up for dinner regardless.

I'm guessing you've never used an AI software or spoken to an AI chat bot? Did you also not realise that every Google search, message you send on popular instant messaging apps and things you post on social media are all being monitored and fed into a giant AI network run by the biggest tech companies? The algorithms are absorbing billions upon billions of searches and conversations so that this can be harvested into a gigantic library of human knowledge and opinions which, if the software becomes advanced enough, could be combined with to create an incomprehensible intelligence that we will not be able to control.
