    This video describes how to build your own 360 video projection screen inside a geodesic dome. It also discusses how to use a mirror ball instead of an expensive fish eye lens for dome projection.

      Zip Tie Domes Couldent you just use a projector fisheye lens rather than using multiple projectors?

    Roughly how much projection fabric is needed to cover 16' silo shown in video?

    • @ZipTieDomes
      @ZipTieDomes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To cover the entire 16' Silo Dome, there is 682 square feet of surface area. To cover just the dome portion above the vertical Silo Section, for a 16' dome there is 444 square feet of surface area. If you have a project like this, I would be glad to work with you on the exact dimensions of the triangles, and how to best cut these triangles from fabric. Email me at this link:

      The people that made the projection dome were exceptional with the dome projection software. Building the dome was the easy part. Have a great day.

    Hi. I´m Wondering, what´s the format to project, mp4?
    If I´m doing the recording with my camera for the projection, what considerations should I take? Do I use a Software to convert de video?

    Has any one tried or had success on using this kit to make a home dome ? I want to make a office with one.

      Several people have set up the domes inside their homes, mostly people that are interested or have a background in sound engineering. Building the dome is the easy part. But a dome can help with just standard quadrophonic sound - full blown ambisonics is at another level - and it has to be experienced to be appreciated. It sets up a spherical wave field, where the waves come together and complement each other. You can walk into the sphere, and then back out to hear the individual speakers. It is just awesome. Thanks for watching the video. John

      @@ZipTieDomes Ya I saw this info. But what about an outside dome ?

    • @ZipTieDomes
      @ZipTieDomes  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@frankenstein3163 Yes, you can put a second dome over the projection dome for setting up outside. That is a great idea.
      Thanks,

      You need to talk to my wife and kids about that one. Sometimes a lot of "dumb luck" does play a part in what we do. JH

      @@ZipTieDomes I would love to tell them in person or on the phone --- I would like to visit one day anyway.....I really admire what you have done. About the wife and kids.....hmmm....we could pull a prank or two....or just tell them how fortunate they are to have you. I would pay them to dump you and then have you be our neighbor and adopted all around cool dude --- they can visit once every ten years.....why not more often? Because they need to learn to appreciate you much more!!! Hopefully I didn't just destroy our lil conversation....did I look into it to much? I wish you continued best wishes!!! Thanks again.
