I just went to see him at Metropolis, Montreal. Guys, this man is 60 years old and he rocked the place like I've never seen before. From far the best rock concert I've ever been to! The energy he was transmitting to the crowd was unreal. He performed for more than 2 hours and each song was better than the other! As time was passing, it was getting better and better. All my respect to George Thorogood for still keeping blues rock'n roll alive and kicking today! A true legend!
this is why I love TH-cam. Rare concert clip of George Ive never seen Early Destroyers years. Classic. Ive heard this song over one million times...and I still love it!
It just can not and will not get better than this. I was 14 when I first saw George. I wish I was able to have seen him on South street ( in philly) Back in th late 70's. HE IS THE BEST!!!!
I saw Lonesome George around 1990 when he opened for the Allmans. He was playing at least 1/2 hour before the show was scheduled, already jamming. He was incredible. Around the time the show was scheduled to begin, he finally said something like, "let's start the show." It doesn't get any better...
@MrStormy29w I'm Latino, grew up all over, and I rocked hard to this dude's music for a long time 20 years ago!!! Now that I see him rockin, rockin live, shit, I realize that George was truly THE MAN!!!!! I use'd to throw parties while I was stationed in Texas. I had a blender, a small boom box and George Thorogood playing ALL NIGHT LONG! Nobody complained!!! Lot of people felt good and did good things if you know what I meeeeaaaaannnnn!!!!!
What a great band .Lucky to see them early in their career in Camden London late 70,s first time Dingwalls and later at The Electric ballroom .The Dingwalls gig was especially memorable in my mind as Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello stood next to me and my friends enjoying the show that night
I remember this version was on the George Thorogood and the Destroyers vinyl, it was a major inspiration, I hardly knew who JLH was lol. I love this song!
heard this song on the radio a few times and had to find out who sang it. thought it was a black guy the whole time! good voice and love the guitar work
@jj4now Sounds like the bestest of shows. A friend in college got me hooked on The Delaware Destroyers in 1978. I thought it was cool that his hit song that year was something Hank Williams wrote. WooHoo!
In the liner notes of their greatest (baddest) hits he says, "I can understand someone writing about John Lee Hooker, James Brown or the Beatles-people who've made an incredible impact on rock history. But the Destroyers? We're like a burger joint!" He thought about that and then amended what he said with, "Then again, there's nothing wrong with selling cheeseburgers as long as they're quality cheeseburgers...And that's the way I think of us." Right on! The best rock/blues burgers around!
My twin. If I had a nickle for every time someone called me George Thorogood, I'd have at least 50 grand. Except he is older than me, and kicks major ass. Love this video!
Best things that ever happened to Rugby League? George Thoroughgood's Rattlesnake Suit. Tina Turner's Awesome Legs. And John Fogerty's Proud Mary. Oh Baby . We are so Bad.
@jj4now Fucking awesome, I saw Primus at a little venue in Atlanta, same thing, no opening band just 1.5 hours of bassey goodness, and fifteen minute intermission and then the entire "Sailing the Seas of Cheese album".
when i was about 17 i used to play george in the tape player in my moms car,,,, she hated george,,,,,,and used to say " turn that shit off " im 51 now and still thinks he's a legend ,,,mom still thinks he's well !!!! wish some one would put hot rod lincoln on here!!
Yep totally agree. The feel and soul seem's to have been lost in the rock/blues scene and image and persona has taken the forefront of music nowaday's, to the point where im not sure i class them as musicians no more, more like music designers.

It just can not and will not get better than this. I was 14 when I first saw George. I wish I was able to have seen him on South street ( in philly) Back in th late 70's. HE IS THE BEST!!!!
True that bro. They just don't play enuff of ole' lonesome George anymore. Under rated songs these days, I hope the blues stays alive as we knew it.

LOVELY! I want to learn this song, on my guitar...
In the liner notes of their greatest (baddest) hits he says,
