Copex S-wing 1000 tonne shear

A few jobs from this week, material being tipped and sheared then loaded out for delivery, ready for re melting. You can see very heavy overhead crane track going through the shear up to three at once without any problems. We pack the box with extruded aluminium and almost overdo it, shots from the engine room and operators cabin. Also, we bale lighter material rather than shear it, there’s less mess afterwards compared with shearing. I’ve tried to pack a bit of variety into this longer clip. Happy viewing 👍

WOW super video!! Seeing the controls inside the shear was great. (Computerized, not sure why that surprised me.) It was great watching all of that. Have you thought about putting a go pro on and letting us "follow" you while you work? hint-hint. I hope you make more. Very enjoyable to start my day. @@markschofield9494 haha Ok Mark, how about only when you are working? Not when you are taking breaks. That might become too revealing about things other than the shearer and other heavy equipment. BTW, do you have a shredder there?

@@paulamoor3098 No shredder, we're only a small business really and shredders are very much the domain of the really big players in the UK. There is hardly enough material arising in the UK to keep the existing shredders operating with little scope for more. We couldn't get permission to install one here in any case and the yard isn't suitable as it slopes in two directions across the hillside which is why the yard is terraced to give us level (ish) areas to work on, you would never deliberately open a scrap yard on such a difficult site, we, my family, just happen to have been here since 1876 so we're stuck with it now 😂
