  • Aboriginal communities across remote Western Australia may be closed due to funding pressures but Indigenous leaders are concerned about what that could mean.

How dare the WA gov try to close down their home. This is their choice to live their traditional lifestyle, so let them manage themselves, maintain their own lifestyle with necessary services that gaurantee their safety and health. All praise to these communities as I wouldn't like to live out in such a remote locations .Stop funding non-Australian factions NOW and look after our own. The Aboriginal and our beloved returned servicemen and women. Australian taxpayer monies should be looking after those who struggle to have every day rights that we in the towns and cities take for granted.

To the bloke in the comments down below, if the people in those communities are entitled to social security payments, wat does it matter to you where they live? One has nothing to do with the other. If your talking about alcohol and the purchase there of, go see who owns the canteen odds on it ain't a black fella

Unfortunately it really doesn’t seem viable to supply power and water to such a small remote community. The cost of transporting fuel and water for such a small number of people just doesn’t make sense.
I’m all for aboriginals living a traditional life if they want, but don’t expect welfare payments. Welfare is meant to keep you alive until you find a job & that’s not going to happen out there!
How many white station owners living in remote locations have the government supply their power & water?
