Mark's so talented, I still can't believe 2022 finally saw him get his first Top 5 album (the outstanding Land Of Dreams, which I would love to see you react to).
Next time please react to Believe In The Boogie and Carnival x

Robbie says of Mark in the documentary Take That For The Record "his albums since going solo have probably been the most authentic songs out of the lot of us" and "his albums, his lyrics and his melodies are amazing". I have to agree (although I am a bit Robbie fan too)!!
I would love to see you react to Carnival, Believe in the Boogie and Raven next.

First of all thank you for being You Tube's first Mark Owen reactor. I enjoyed these reactions so much!
Clementine is about suicide, the first few times I heard this song the lyrics went straight over my head. Then I heard an interview with Mark discussing the meaning behind them and was shocked!
I highly recommend Believe In The Boogie, Carvinal, Raven and Magic for your next episode.

Child is a masterpiece, but we weren't ready. Nobody could take the real Mark after the years spent as the cute one in Take That.

Mark so underrated bless him. I saw him live at the ‘isle of Wight festival’ he was wonderful, his voice is just like on the records, but what got me, and made me cry is that he’s so humble. He was in the ‘big top’ he packed the tent out and apologised to all the people outside for not being able to them in and then says to the crowd ‘if you’re interested I’ve got a new album out in September’ 🫶 I elbowed my way to the barrier and sung myself horse for half an hour. It was just wonderful.
The album that Stars is taken from ‘the art of doing nothing’ is just brilliant.
Mark has a massive input into the artwork behind Take that live tours . I remember seeing an interview where Gary said that Mark used to carry around a pad and pencil and just put all his ideas down on paper xx

    Check out in this order:
    Magic
    Believe in the boogie
    You only want me
    Alone without you
    Rio
    The one
    Being human
    I am what I am
    Close to the edge
    Sorry lately
    Gravity
    Us and ours
    Ask him to
    Are you looking for billy
You are right: you won’t get a more versatile artist than mark. Emotion in everything he does. He doesn’t need the best polished voice but it’s unique and he’s great
also you need to check out take that live concert of the circus tour. Their best tour.
See what happens on the song the garden! It will blow your mind
    And then also
In this order from that show
    What is love
    Clown medley
    Said it all
You will be amazed and this is why TT are the best band in the world

My favourite Mark song is now Rio but there isn't a music video for that one yet, so I am going to suggest Believe In the Boogie, Carvinal and S.A.D for your next watch. All very different sounds but all awesome!

Mark is the most underrated Take That singer and a solo artist per se. His gem of songs were eternal proof that he's such an amazing lyricist and poet. A very diversed artist. So glad he found his very core when he came out of the eggshell when he went solo. Sadly, not much of his fellow English people appreciate and supported his kind of music. If only he brought his music in the Americas and Asia with proper promotion, with his enigmatic charisma and wonderful personality, he would've been big or bigger than his contemporaries. And by the way, Clementine is a song about depression and of "suicide". Clever him how he put up that dark lyrics into an upbeat sound. And if I'm not mistaken Child was one of the songs he composed after Take That broke up, and he literally went from one producer to another to market his songs.Mark said the production people brought him a couple of dozens of jeans while filming his Child MV. Please do watch his live performances in his Live at the Academy, Baby I'm No Good. His MV for I Am What I Am, Believe In The Boogie(OST of Mr And Mrs Smith European release), Alone Without You, Good for Me. And just listen to his other lyric videos of My Life, My Love. @PancakeMarshmallowDude thank you so much for being the very first to react on Mark's solo songs. Love and appreciate you much for all of these Dude!
EDITED: Child entered top5 in MTV Asia's Top10 when it was first released. And mind you, it knocked Celine Dion's "It's All Coming Back" from top1(which topped the chart for weeks) and Child was number1 for two consecutive weeks.

I’ve been looking forward to this episode for ages and it did not disappoint. Thank you so much for really getting what makes Mark such a special artist.
You are absolutely right about Mark being very philosophical and a storyteller with his lyrics and if you’d like to hear some more of his more introspective work, I would second a couple of other commenters’ recommendations of Carnival along with They Do and Being Human.
(also just subscribed to your patreon- I really appreciate how much regard you have for all the TT boys so much.)

Thanks SO much for this! I always say that Simon Le Bon is my home (he’s my overall blankie), Darren Hayes is my heart (he knows how to hurt or heal my ticker) & Mark Owen is my head (he knows how to play in my brain). And I definitely agree with Carnival, Raven, Alone Without You, & Believe In The Boogie for the next round.

I always thought "Child" was about loosing your childhood, growing up and saying goodbye...just my interpretation :) I don't really get why Mark is so underrated as a solo artist..but it might ironically be because he is so versatile and I guess back in the day people were not prepared to hear these kind of alternative songs from the "pretty one from that boy band".

I love that you already picked up on how versatile Mark is as an artist. It’s something that us fans love about him. We never know exactly what to expect from him, but it’s always amazing.😄 He changes his sound up on every album, yet still manages to fill each one with fantastic songs that are musically interesting and have thoughtful lyrics. You always get the sense that what he puts out comes from his love of creating and exploring new ideas, and not a need to be current or popular. It’s a really cool thing to experience from an artist.😊
For future reactions, I would recommend “Believe In The Boogie.” m.th-cam.com/video/T75mhSG24vs/w-d-xo.html
    And “Carnival.” m.th-cam.com/video/m7X3TBfj92k/w-d-xo.html
Also, for your own listening and non-video-reacting, I recommend listening to the instrumental version of “Child.” m.th-cam.com/video/m_cexMEhWaI/w-d-xo.html I think it’s quite beautiful.☺️ And you’re right about the music video for Child; it’s gorgeous and mesmerizing. Beautifully shot, and one of my faves.❤️

It’s a shame Mark’s solo career never quite took off but he still makes great music.
It’s true his songs are often philosophical. Life and death are common themes he explores. But a few more recommendations.
    Alone Without You
    Hail Mary
    Carnival

Hearing "Stars" live for the first time in October at Mark's tour was a religious experience. One of those "play this at my funeral" songs. A lot of his solo material is "miserable song presented as an uptempo bop" and I love him for it. I think you'd like the rest of his material a lot based on the other male artists you react to on your channel.

As a massive take that fan from day one in the 90s. I could kick myself for not knowing most of marks solo stuff. I knew a few like child clementine and second warning. Thanks for showing me more I'm loving these songs 🥰🥰🥰

Love that you're getting into Mark's solo stuff, and especially LOVE that you reveiwed "Child." Not only is it one of my favorite Mark songs, but the fact that I just found out a couple days ago that my daughter is PREGNANT made seeing your reaction even more special. I know I will be singing this song to my grandbaby. Your reaction was perfect timing! It's such a special and beautiful song, and yes, the simplicity of the video makes it even more effective. I love how he has his shirt off, not to be sexy, but more as a display of vulnerability and intimacy with his child. The whole video has such a lovely vibe. I would definitely recommend "Carnival," "Believe In The Boogie," and "How Do You Love" for your next video, and if you can find it, the fast version of "I Am What I Am." He's such a talented songwriter, and yes, quite philosophical as you said.

As a TT fan since the early 90's -well...since Howard wore the stripey shirt in Relight my fire anyway- I liked mark but he wasnt my favorite but I remember being so impressed with him in 96' , at that point the media -and them themselves- was all about 'Gary vs Robbie' who was gonna get their album out first, who was gonna win ...was honestly nuts.. and while all that stuff was happening, Mark quietly slipped in a studio and recorded 'Green man' and managed to beat them both with a far superior, unique and focused album than either of the the other two. Green man is still My favorite 'ex TT' album, it was like nothing Id ever bought before, and it was a breath of fresh air. Bravo Mark!
Id recommend you listen ti the song 'Green Man' or my personal favorite on the album 'Backpocket and me' neither are singles so no official clips for you to review but theres a vintage live of Greenman and a modern one, but both are limited in the sound definition. But Please listen to 'Four minute warning ' the title track from his second album.

I'd love for you to react to the British group from the 90s called Solid HarmoniE. They only released one album and disbanded, sadly. They were marketed as a female response to the Backstreet Boys, having Max Martin as their main producer. 4 singles only: I'll Be There For You, I Want You To Want Me, I Wanna Love You and To Love Once Again. Musically it's a mix between early Britney, BSB and ABBA - yes, ABBA. I'm sure you'd enjoy it! Second artist I recommend is Samantha Mumba. This Irish singer was massive in Europe back in 2000. Marketed as the 'black Britney' she reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with the song Gotta Tell You. Highly recommend you listen to these songs: Gotta Tell You, Body 2 Body, Baby Come Over, Always Come Back To Your Love, Lately and I'm Right Here :) You'll find all the videos here: www.youtube.com/@PopUnlimited
