Being a Golden Retriever Owner I can tell that it's not as easy as it seems to raise a Goldie. Even though they are one of the most intelligent and gentle dogs, there are quite a few challenges that every new parent goes through. So I decided to share all the advice and tips for raising a Golden Retriever.
I love sleeping with my golden retriever. He always sleeps on the blanket next to my feet and wakes me up with kisses and cuddles in the morning. He doesn’t stretch, but snores a lot, but that makes me feel safer and hearing him sleep so calm next to me also reduces my anxiety. Just the happiness on his face when we go to sleep where he can cuddle on the cozy warm blanket on the bed is priceless. And he always falls asleep first ❤️
Just becareful. Dog still animal though like small fur go through your nose or flea or tick.

What if he take a big crap on ur bed when u and ur dog are sleeping?
And if u say "cz i trained him" how do u train him? Cz im moving out and im planning to get a golden
Tbh i dont like dogs licking my face as its nasty af. So i dont let them sleep on my bed.
We put our Goldies bed on the floor.... He dragged it on to the bed and then went to sleep!!! 🤣
Listening to a Golden Retriever breathe while it sleeps is the most soothing sound imaginable.
My Zoey is HUGE! She sleeps with us and snores like a freight train. She cramps my style and leaves me no room. She twitches and dreams that she's running and wakes me up constantly.
and.........I LOVE IT! I wouldn't want it any other way! :)
My dog did as she wanted. Sometimes on the bed. Sometimes beside it. If I was restless she sensed I needed space and would move to the foot of the bed or onto the floor. In her last days she wanted to be beside me, hugging my arm and licking me. I soothed her through the night and was alert to little groans that signalled pain relief might be needed. We worked that out between us. I would not have refused her anything she wanted. She never exploited our relationship.
As soon as the tv and the lights go out, off she pads down to my bed, hops up and is there until whatever time I wake up at. She is nearly 8 now, so is well known for "sleeping in."
My Goldies pushes me down from my bed while she stretches and she's troublesome, but am ok with it.. Actually I love it
Our Golden sleeps on the floor next to the bed. He jumps up only when invited. Very wise comments. Then Golden parents can decide for themselves. Once again, quite informative, thank you. 🐕
Golden always sleeps with me. Usually starts on bed then leaves to sleep in bathroom floor. However, at some point he always gets back on the bed. He knows my sleeping pattern and wakes up with my alarm and moves in for morning cuddles as if to try to convince me to stay in bed.
The big boy used to sleep in any position and on any bed of any member of the pack. I liked the dognut at my feet the full stretch not so much. I miss him every day.
I don't know if it is just me or does anyone actually not have a dog but wants one and watches these videos lol

Snow always sleeps on my tummy since she was a 35th day puppy and i am fine with that. i dont mind at all. i find it comfortable and happy with the behavior. say whatever u like, but i thank god for her being in my life
My Golden jumps on the bed for only a while and then gets off. He has a habit of putting his face near mine before I get up just to say "get up, I'm ready for food". Benny is almost 6 months old and is a lover. There is not a person he doesn't love!

I've been sleeping on the floor/bedroll since I lived in Japan for four years (no beds there) - is good for my back too. Dog (5 yr old female cream) has a bedroll next to mine - she knows her place and sometimes snuggles close (during a storm/thunder), but likes to sleep away most of the time. Twice she's slept with her head on my arm. She was an abused rescue (I've had her 1.5 yrs) that was returned to foster homes about 10 times because she wouldn't warm up to families - I'm single and retired so is a calm environment. It took a while for her to make eye contact (she couldn't do that when living with two pit bulls), to move from her "safe space" (rug under a board used for side desk), etc.
There's no mention of when these "things" shed... I saw GRs described as "copious shedders"... is now that time of year. I wouldn't want the hair on my bed, and fine hairs will float up and can be inhaled. I use a vacuum to remove dog hair from clothing in the morning (long sleeves in winter). If I set up the bed, I'd have her sleep on the floor.

Me and my two golden retrievers sleep together it makes me feel safe when my golden sleep with me because I have medical conditions and my dogs make me feel safe and comfortable when I have them by my side
4 month old male golden still kennel training. we have taken him on a vacation where he got to sleep in the same bed with us and he loved it, held his pee all night and slept in later too(7am wake up instead of 5am)

I sleep with my 2 Golden’s and I’ve never had any problems. I lay towels down on one half of the bed and they happily sleep on them. And it’s so much fun to open my eyes and see a big furry smiling golden face next to me in the morning. 😄
My golden retriever is very interesting he chews his toys and sleeps first he never disturbed me whole night and he gets up with me no matter how much late I get up....
My golden likes sleeping on the bed but does so diagonally or across the bed so that either I or my wife have to cramp up our legs…so ultimately we have to push her into her own very comfortable bed…! I think ultimately she prefers that extra space as well!
Mine is just a puppy and pees in a lot of places sometimes so we still use baby gates and we only let her come upstairs if she’s peed right before
#1 reason not to sleep with your golden is they're big and they DO disturb your sleep. It's like sleeping with a 5 or 6 year old kid. Not #4.
My dog is a golden/shepherd mix.
He use to hop on the bed claim my part of it then resource guard it from me.
Fortunately, he only recognizes my hands as the things to guard against, (likely because that's how I pull him away from stuff), so I started laying down on top of him whenever he was in my space. Broke him of it very fast.
Now he won't even get on the bed unless I invite him, and when I stop petting him he quickly hops down.
Considering we've had three over the past 20 years that all love to sleep on our bed and all lived to tell about it...
My golden sleeps on my bed but she takes up the bottom half and likes to sleep on top of the blanket so I'm always cold. As a result, I fold around her like a frozen pretzel 😅

My golden has the run of the house at night. He spends most of his time sleeping in my bed(grandma),but he also sleeps on my floor, the bathroom floor, the couch, with the grandkids, and with my daughter. Never with papa (papa snores too loud).
my goldens try to dig the waterbed, never understand why it doesn't work. Most also cuddle for a while (10~20 minutes) but then get up and sleep at the bedside. Except the runt. She can share the bed all night. and day :)
i am thinking of getting a golden retriever but before getting it i am watching a lot of videos like are they so aggresive there parents there hairs and all. and from watching your videos i am getting to know so much things about them.

My Alice (female golden retriever) doesn't sleep straight ever. She will always sleep along the breath of the bed. But no matter what we just love her to be on bed
Every night for almost 13 years, so yeah it's safe.
I have 2 golden Retrievers and both sleep on the bed with me (King Size). They get out of the bed in the middle of the night but I do not feel them do it... Until morning when they wake me up to let them out to the backyard.
All the 4 doggies that I ever had over the past 5 decades slept near me or my kids, but in their own dog beds.
Morning cuddles and 10 mins together were always fine.
And yes, most doggos snore!😁

untill my dog got older he slept on my bed too, when he couldn't get on de bed, he prefered to sleep on the floor, even when I placed him on the bed. And he refused to use his dogbed or a blanket on the floor...

Adjust their food quantity based on how they look. You should be able to feel their ribs without applying much pressure and when looking down as you're standing over them you should see a distinct waistline in front of the back legs. Puppies need a lot of nutrition as they're growing rapidly up to 6 or 8 months, so I wouldn't worry too much about overfeeding them before that point. You'll probably have to cut back the amount of food you give your pup at 8-9 months or so to keep it from becoming overweight as its metabolism slows down and it stops growing. In general, I've found the ideal amount of food is usually far less than the guidelines on bags of dog food. With my last golden, for the type of food he was eating the manufacturer said 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups twice a day based on his weight. I gave him 1 cup twice a day and he maintained a good weight of about 75 pounds. I have a 5 month old golden puppy right now and she gets about 1 1/4 cups twice a day plus a good number of treats as part of her training, and her weight is good. A lot of people let their goldens get too heavy.

I have asthma so my mom would never let me sleep with a dog but i have a yorkie i still let him sleep.can i still get a golden retriever even if our family has 7 dogs is that ok?
It actually depends on many factors like after having 7 dogs in a house, will a Huge Breed like a Golden Retriever fit in such a space, Also are other 7 dogs ideal companions of our Golden Retrievers or not? An outdoor dog house? No. An indoor crate, preferably in the room where you sleep? Yes.
Only issue is the hair. Get a good dog hair remover and something to cleqn potential drool. Our girl is allowed in her bed anytime!

I have a question if i got a golden retriever and let it live in my villa with the guard of that villa witch have a 500 meter garden and i visite it once or twice a week it is good for golden retriever ?
You’ll be visiting your guard and HIS dog. Is your guard happy to bond closely with the dog? And it will not be a guard dig by the way.

You CAN but for guarding I probably would look for other breed
Goldens are the worst dogs for guarding, only because they love people way too much. Chances are a golden will welcome intruders inside for a small fee of belly rubs and hugs 😂
