Cooking Tiger nuts

  • This Vlog is all about preparing Tiger nuts after you guys asking for tips for bait preparation. Particles have been a very big part of
    my fishing over the years and you must do them right. If you do not feel confident buy them.
    The particles are from Decathon and cost me £12.99 for 5 Kilo.
    Once you've cooked them your looking at 10K.
    You need a bucket, sugar and the flavour of your choice,
    They work great on their own.
    The simple way is to put boiling water on the nuts and soak for 24hrs, then boil for 30 minutes. Then use.

    just a thought, but i think fermented baits might be better because the natural bacteria could be good for the carps digestion

    Fermentation is probably the best route as natural sugars and amino acids ect are formed ect...great vid tho....rule 1 make sure they are cooked! Great bait when done right

    and for a really good glug or groundbait additive pour the water and gloop into a cooking pan and keep it on the heat to reduce and boil off the water content, so it becomes like a sauce=reduction!

    Once the fermented ones are done how long will they last and is there any signs that they are “off” and shouldn’t be used. Also can you freeze them in batches or would this impair the effectiveness or flavours ? Cheers 👍

      It’s down to common sense chap. If it stinks bin it.
      I never leave anything frozen over 3 months but I’m sure you can find more information online

    How long do they keep? I am off to France for a week would they last?

    • @Carlfishing
      @Carlfishing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry fella I’ve been busy and only just noticed this. Once you’ve made them it depends on various things like temp and storage in sunlight I guess. I would say a few weeks

    Thanks for the vid
    Just wondering im fishing in a couple of days and havent got time for the full fermenting time
    Could i?
    Soak in hot water for 24hrs
    Boil for 30 mins
    Ferment for two days
    Would this still be affective? Thanks again

    • @Carlfishing
      @Carlfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There isn’t much difference in results with using both process to the fish.
      You can’t rush fermentation
