The problem was that the whole line went like "by seeing your FAIR(whiter) skin, beyonce will feel shy/ashamed" they thought it would sound cute but people took a lot of offense and rightfully so as beyonce is a black woman and most indian women are brown skinned and its insulting to both.

For the Beyonce reference, the lyrics went "tujhe dekhke 'goriye', Beyonce sharma jayegi" where goriye translates to someone with a fair complexion. So yeah, it came off as racist and colorist and that's why people were mad.
I think it might have meant "staring at you, Beyonce became shy."

If you actually pay attention, songs actually signifies that Beyonce is the gold standards for beauty and that's the only reason why they used her name, not because of her colour. Not a good song by any means but people are overreacting. They are not colour shaming anyone. It's just a out dated song
The Beyonce song was probably about them calling a white skinned girl more beautiful than Beyonce.Its not direct but alot of these songs have that tone of preferring Fair skinned girls.If you remember that song called Chitiyan kaliyan,it literally is praising a girl for having fair skin.Thats so insensitive.

15:06 its because Beyoncé is a proud black woman and people were criticizing this song because ananya (the woman shown in this song) was white so people thought this song was to shade her black beauty,as the song mentioned "goriya" meaning fair and beyoncé is black (stupid idea iknow).
That was not the case. The song said , "tujhe dekh ke goriya" or something like that , it mentions Ananya as Goriya(fairer) as opposed to Beyonce being black .

The lyrics literally mentioned ‘goriya’ which means white skinned. People did not think that, it was literally in the song, and I guess they never thought about skin colour while using Beyoncé’s name in the song and had to switch it to ‘world’ to not imply racism.

2. Because Beyonce have a dark skintone and Ananya Pandey have a light skintone, that means they compared a girl with dark and light skintone and they meant that Beyonce is bad because of her skintone.
