Absolutely! I recognized relationship building is 🔑! One of the least skilled barbers in the shop was the most booked he focused on making sure each client felt like he went above & beyond
Chuka Torres how to build demand? I really don't like walk ins most of the time. Sometimes I'll meet cool people and they'll become my clients. But most of the time I'm cutting walk ins I'm not really feeling.

there is nothing wrong with taking walk ins i love the technique you use to fade but not your idea about not taking walk ins. I understand why you don't take them but your not keeping it traditional. walk ins are a part of OG Barbershops
He's right, when u go out and find ur clients, u get to pick ur clients. With walk ins u have to just take what u get. Go to where the clients u want are. Seek out like minded people.
Hansel Roman it all about respect.. if a wAlk in disrespects me rude or too picky.. the next time he walk in I’ll send him to my other barber or say I’m fully book can’t talk Him today
I'm a student recently enrolled and noticed all these barber working in shops hate walk ins. What the hell is wrong with these people money is money appointment or walk ins. They fell like they are as important as Donald trump or some shit. It was cool wanting to become a barber but I hope I don't turn into a shit hole like these mind set people. Money is money it all works the same. Appointment or walk in.
Im subscribed to a hand full of so call leaders , motivators what have you but this brother its as realest social media celebrity out there as of today , its my plesure and duty to fallow you .be blessed , be richer.
I opened a barbershop recently, i take apointments only on fridays and i double the price, every other day i take walk ins and charge standard- works out fine for me😊 but I understand what Chuka saying👍🏼
i feel you bra lmao ... i'll take walk ins for a month or two to build those relationships and clientele base but after im going str8 appointments its better
I believe you take a walkins but let them know it a little wait if they don’t want to wait Pls book an appointment! But never turn away business! And if they walk in next time then if I busy pass them to your other barbers
Chuka Torres simple mathematics really. Doing appointments you limit how many people you see a day thereby limiting how much you make that day. walk ins are limited only by the time you stay at the shop.
Rick Boone exactly, you create freedom for your self. Also are able to raise prices due to appointment. As in walk in are expecting the shop price. Walk ins also inconsistent.
Rick Boone you're not limiting how much money you make by being appointment only if you've created a crazy demand for yourself and booked weeks ahead. For me, it's all about creating the life I want to live & that means being in control of my time. Waiting on a walk-in's means you could possibly make $200 that day .. whereas I know I got 6 heads & I definitely make that $200 that day. ... no time wasted.
Chuka Torres I understand what you're saying. what I mean is say you set up 6 a day. with walk in I may do 8 or 10...I'm not limiting to 6. I can't live off 200 a day though. but I get what you are saying. in later years I may change my thoughts. not saying either way is wrong. many love appointments. another problem I see is what about those not showing up. now your 200 shrank. granted walk ins are inconsistent. I agree. shop needs to be hopping.
Walks ins are fantasitc in shop where there is a lot of foot traffic, but if your in a shop where nobody is walking past, you better damn well get you name out their, pass cards, facebook marketing, etc. I've seen new barbers with no cleintele make crazy bank at a walk in shop, while others non walk in shop barbers are starving. In majority appointments shop, the barbers tend to hate on each other, are they are all primadonna's trying to steal each others clients, price wars, and soooo much more drama....lol
People are just paying what he charge for him as a well known brand that he made for him self getting a cut from a top notch barber people be like who cut your hair the Rich Barber
Talking about $100-$150 clients is unreal, and doesn't speak to 99% of your viewers. Not every city / area has athletes and drug dealers, just being real.

Everything doesn't work for everyone...walk-ins are new clients for the shop...walk-ins are good for that barber/stylist that's building.
Zack The Barber you're right. I said that within 6 months to a year you shouldn't be waiting on walk-ins & you should focus on building your demans
No doubt

He never said it’s bad to do walk ins he simply stated after 6months to a year you should not have to wait on them 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️😂😂😂
That's really how we should be looking at the barber game.
People are just paying what he charge for him as a well known brand that he made for him self getting a cut from a top notch barber people be like who cut your hair the Rich Barber
I think alot of yall missed the point...
Check out Rog the barber, chucka

B Uway its not unreal bro maybe for some but not everyone
lon3wolf 1 you gotta explain that.

Oh yeah, I have clients willing to pay 200 for a haircut, easy
B Uway ok so u just contested your own statement
