There was always an amazing game under the sh*tpile of bugs and glitches. The infinite amount of playthroughs I've played since launch on xbox over the course of 3 years and now recently finally on PC with mods shows CD Projekts dedication to the game and us as players. Shame on the publishers who rushed it and the devs who lied to us, but after everything, it's still a masterpiece at the end of the day.
They literally just washed their hands of it, threw in the towel and let the modders actually fix the game in the future. Fk CDPR. I will not be buying another game from the lying bstrds. What no we should TRUST what they market for whatever next game they try to sell everyone. If you think I'm being harsh this is how anyone would treat individual people if they did less to you. Yet we make exceptions for these game companies like they care about you when it is obvious they don't with the trash they release.
I did the same thing. The worst bug I came across was the audio not playing or playing outta sync. Most bugs i found comical. Not being able to finish a mission wasn't even the worse of it. The pop ins made me drive just a little bit faster lol. It was the best of times and worst of times.
Been playing this since release. Couple things worth noting: Blocked out parts, you can get to most in the DLC. As you’ll have seen, the roller coaster is a thing. You’ve just gotta work out how. Delay in conversations. These are design choices as characters are either thinking about their response or (a lot) taking a drag. Like normal conversations. Endings. Yes, you can just reload that last spot and try as many different dialogue trees to see different endings. However, some choices made earlier in the game will have some effect on what happens, so some ending choices/interactions/options won’t be seen unless you go back and change earlier decisions. I recently done a “speed run “ clocking in at about 8-9 hours, and so many options weren’t available to me. If I recall, only 4 people took the time to leave me a message. Hardly any friendships built 😅 I’m currently at a total of around 500 hours in and still finding content I’ve not yet seen. Anyway. Glad you enjoyed it. CP2077 is certainly up in my list of fantastic games that I’ll always look back on fondly.

After finishing every mission, every ending, all side missions, every gig, every scanner hustle, every cyberpsycho, everything the DLC has to offer. And I just feel so empty. I miss playing this game, I miss when I hadn’t done everything, I want more Cyberpunk. I love this game.
just replay it, I finished it like 7 times, there are so many good builds, you can play it like an assassin, a hacker, a gunslinger, a blade wielding psychopath, etc.
The cool thing about cyberpunk is that it is extremely replayable. You can make a new save with a new character and make new choices that could potentially make for an entirely new experience. Its impossible to experience the entirety of the main story content without doing 2-4 separate playthroughs, since your decisions can drastically affect what happens.

@@terceroido Its not a car customization game tho. Its a story-driven action RPG. Its about shooting the bad guys with cool guns and creating relationships with characters. The cars are there as a means of transportation, not the focus of the game like they are in forza or something
The first 300 hours with a game like this is a taste test. Second playthrough is the first real one. Then completionist playthroughs. Then different ending playthroughs. 2000 hours at least available here.
I did the same. Got the game 2020, returned it after the first few hours because it was bugged to hell. Played in again in 2024 on the ps5 and it was an amazing experience, so glad I waited.
I’ve been playing video games since the Sega Master System…and I don’t care what anyone says. Cyberpunk 2077 is, without a doubt, one of the greatest games I’ve ever played. Great gameplay, characters that you actually ‘care’ for and feel a connection to, and a story that really pulls you in. CDPR should be proud of this masterpiece. They worked HARD to deliver a quality game and they sure did deliver.
I'm 19 hours in... only bug I've experienced so far was when the mission stage tracker didn't update so the stage never moved on. You simply track another job, fast travel away, track the job and travel back again to restart the mission stage.
Same here, i bought the game when its first came out but knew they would fix the game so i waited 4 years too, i start playing a week ago and i can say that i love this game alot, its realy so much better than i expected
I played for about 2 hours on release. That was enough. Here I am, years later, and I've been playing it every day for the last month and a half. After my first playthrough, I started building a modlist, and while there are still some bugs and crashes that I run into from time to time, for the most part, the game plays and looks amazing. I'm just disappointed that they've abandoned further development. I really hope they release Redkit for Cyberpunk to allow modders to carry the torch from here.
At least they fixed the qorst of them. Some of them were kinda bad, but funny as shit. Like when riding a motorcycle it would take your pants off. Schlong just floppin in the wind. That shit was hilarious, and so fuckin annoying lmao.

I played it day 1 on PC - 0 issues. I don't even remember encountering any bugs or display issues. Oh, I had an issue with one minor side quest. That is it. Game was 9/10 for me at the release date.
@@GreenBananasMan If you do use any mods, I highly recommend Enemies of Night City. It changes the AI and everything else and improves it in ways that i wish the development team focused on it really does change to the the gun play in a really really good way
Good stuff. Couple notes: - Phantom Liberty kicks ass - Upgrading weapons is important for iconic ones which have unique perks - Fem V's voice is awesome
But it's kinda stupid that the game can't let the player upgrade all weapons. Why keep it to iconic. I really loved swapping out mods. I play last gen cause of that.
I did the same! Bought on release and started playing this week. I really needed to do some research to know how to play. It’s honestly stable and massive! Such a great game. Endless playtime.
I too also waited 4 years to play this game after finally upgrading to a 7900 xtx. Before I launched the game, I heavily modded the game with a lot of graphic and visual texture overhauls to make it even more immersive.. this game is hands down one of the best I've ever played.
For such an expansive open world RPG its a true testament how the single best quality about this game is the story, the layers and themes are so complex rarely seen in gaming
I would say also try out the phantom liberty DLC. It feels like it makes the game more "complete", though it raises the question "why wasn't this launched with the initial release?" But regardless, it totally worth it. The DLC is AWESOME and the new possible finals it unlocks are more satisfying than the base game ones.
I saw a comment that summed it up best, they said Cyberpunk was like a Michelin star dish that was just served too early. It had to go back in the kitchen to be completed. The base game was always solid, but they had to work out the bugs, etc. I played at launch and personally I absolutely loved it despite all the bugs (played on PC w 3080 helped also). Now 4 years later I got the itch to play again and I just absolutely love this game. One of my favorites of all time as a 35 year old video gamer that has played many many games.
Finished the game playing since day one, medium PC also. I did 2 runs with only 1 reload due to quest bug. Game was cool back then and absolutely amazing now :)
This is the most ambicious game ever made, I think it is a game that should have been released in 2022 for next gen only, if it were like this at launch people would have missed work just to play.
I played it a few days ago and I overheard a conversation about a gate not opening, so I stopped and listened, then I saw one of them walk through the closed gate right after the conversation ended,
Having also played Cyberpunk only recently for the first time, it is clear that a lot of work and dedication went into making the game. I feel that the disastrous launch was a case of CDPR biting off more than they could chew and maybe also their in-house engine not being entirely suited for this type of game. It is great though that they kept releasing updates, turning Cyberpunk into a genuinely great game.
bought it on release, heard it was getting fixed and have been waiting for the right time to come. with the dlc out and according to the latest reports the patches coming to an end I think that time is approaching.
For this kind of stupid people we will keep having developers promising crap for 10 years and then deliver an "open world" game in which you can't even customize a damn car.
I'm having a similar experience, having bought the game on sale in 2022 and just picking it up about a month ago. One thing I've found lacking in the game is the car handling - they all seem to pivot around the center of the vehicle rather than on their rear wheels like they should. Kind of a bummer because this is the rare game I could just cruise around in, but the odd handling is very distracting. The motorcycles seem to handle a lot better than the cars.
Never played Cyberpunk cos of the bad reviews awful launch at first. I was debating for over a year if I should get it or not. I love Witcher 3 so I just wanted to play a game by the same devs. Been playing this game for 3 weeks now. 60 hours in. Amazing. Besides a few bugs and crashes. It’s crazy I didn’t play it sooner.
I played thru this game at launch on Xbox One. I don’t recall any crashes but the bugs were to the point where it was ALMOST unplayable. I finished it on that console after about 170 hours because I had spent so long looking forward to playing the game. However, now my impression of the game is deeply shaded by the bad time I had with it at launch to the point where I don’t see myself going back to it even tho it’s been wildly improved and I have Xbox Series X now.
I'm in the same situation, bought it at launch, and then just waited to play. After I saw on Twitter there are no more developers working on it according to CDPR's development roadmap. I decided it was probably time to come back to Night City on give it a proper go.
This game got so much better after waiting 4 years for it to get better (being a day one player). Still has some bugs and downfall but the main concept, story, gameplay ideas are so 🔥🔥🔥!! If this game would have had an extra 2 years in developement, this game would have been a smash hit easily! This game rocks overall I give it a solid 8.5/9.0 out of 10 tbh. Hopefully the next one is fully complete and polished when released!

I thought we were able to get into the oil fields via Johnny’s quest and the airport via the DLC, the little silver sliver near Pacifica is that animal mall hideout where we blow out in the vodooo boys quest I think?
Took me almost a whole year to find out you can change the color of your vehicle's headlights. Hold left for a while n this weird little menu pops up n you can change the color of the headlights. Apparently it's leftover from an earlier build, it's not supposed to work but it still does for whatever reason. Only car it wont work on the the Murkmobile because of some "bios system error" with the car. How cool is that? A lore reason why you can't change the color? Shiiiiit. What's most funny, is the dude who found it, actually got a reference on the screen. "Cosmetic_Troll". How fucking cool is this game and CDPR.
1:19 wasn't just a DLC; it was also the long awaited 2.0 update that CDPR (or so they claimed) said brought it out of "beta". (I don't really agree with it either because they never originally claimed it was in said beta but, cut em, some slack) 4:19 Dogtown (or the little sliver as you called it) literally opens up like an hour or two (four at most; being generous) after dealing with maman brigette and the voodoo boys then songbird calls you right after and the town is entirely open to you but, I digress. 5:47 Maiko is smoking here and the game recognizes that, not a good example of the proclaimed "Delay between dialogue" also, never experienced any delays myself with 1,600 hours but, sure. 7:19 that's not Johnny's Porsche per-say but, I see what you're getting at I'm just nit-picking on this one. All in all; I appreciate that you recognize cyberpunk is in a better place now. Personally, the game literally never crashes on me post 2.0 like... at all. I do not play with mods and it doesn't seem that you do either so, that's weird; probably your specs or something but, either way; well rounded video and review. Maybe give yourself some more time to play it as its worth while, try out some different builds and what not. I firmly believe this game deserves more than 70 hours of playtime
I'm on playstation so maybe that's the difference? The delay was not necessarily that clip, I couldn't find a good example of it in my recordings, but I noticed it a lot. I think I had 2 or 3 crashes, so not a lot over 70hrs, but also not 0. I'm starting the DLC soon and I'm pretty pumped!
@@GreenBananasMan yeah always heard the console versions were a bit buggy so, that makes sense. You'll enjoy the DLC and even the gigs they did in it are so much more thought out and you can tell they busted their asses making it happen. Hope to see more content of cyberpunk come out from you!
Yeah, I've got a couple hundred hours of play on PC. I've seen the delays, but I only notice it when I'm skipping through large chunks of dialogue very quickly.
This is one of my fav genres (love things like the OG Blade Runner, Neuromancer, Deus Ex) and I was hyped for this game, but the launch was genuinely disappointing as someone who played it day one on PC. I'd be inclined to agree with the "beta" metaphor because that's essentially what it felt like to me. It always had the makings of something great but you could easily tell how raw and undercooked everything felt. Stopped playing and came back to it when 2.1/PL released after years of waiting, and I genuinely find this to be one of my favourite games to play. The world building and characters were always amazing but now the foundations upon which they rest are actually stable. Cyberpunk 2077 and No Man's Sky seem to have a lot in common actually with regards to their disastrous releases and then eventual turnarounds. Commendable efforts, but it is sad that this has become an industry standard.
@@GreenBananasMan The delays you've experienced are likely to do with occasional idle animations that kick in every once in a while. It's more noticeable the longer a player selects an answer. Once the idle animation (aka smoking for e.g.) is being played, player's timing on the answer doesn't matter, the NPC will finish its idle animation before proceeding with the scripted one. The good side of idle animations is that it makes NPCs feel natural with their body language. Not particularly new, but CDPR did a phenomenal job on that front.
I played this from day one (and I still play it all the time) and I honestly didn't experience any of the bugs other people have. I'm not saying there are no issues, as clearly there are, but I wonder why I didn't while so many other people did? I'm on PC btw.
I played on ps4 pro at launch and I believe sometimes the game saves got corrupted or the loading didn't fully load so all ppl had to do was keep reloading more or die frequently like I did lol.
I've been playing the game for the first time after Phantom Liberty, but followed the hype back before launch. From my experience, I've seen WAY MORE shilling for the game than criticism after the Edgerunners anime happened. Just look at this comment section, their arguments are often "don't care", "bugs never happened with me", "Red Dead Redemption 2 is repetitive". The game is still too basic, GTA San Andreas had car parts customization in 2004, while Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't even let you paint your cars in 2024. Modding? Oh yeah, a simple mod to let you own NPC variants of the cars requires 1 mod, that requires 2 mods, that require 3 mods, let alone a car customization mod. All of that to crash at launch due to the finicky checks that want every single mod to be the correct version with each other and the game because the modding community made no effort to properly organize itself. GTASA also had very basic street NPCs that would walk the streets looking for ped paths, this could result in them crossing from one side of the street to another in an endless patrol of the same 1 street, this in 2004. Cyberpunk 2077 has that same level of NPC AI - Zero improvements in 20 years, while a game like Red Dead Redemption 2, which is a 2018 AAA open-world game (same category as Cyberpunk), has a much more robust and believable NPC system with routines and variation in dialogue and interaction with the player. "I never ran into bugs", oh curious. Because I've had NPCs refusing to follow V and being stuck in place for gigs to progress. I've had non-lethal takedown bodies exploding into death if I tried to move them. I've had cars spawning out of nowhere behind me to crash into my car. Or the random gangsta floating on top of a major highway shooting at the cars passing by. Who needs Aerial Vehicles when people can apparently fly? Ending the comparisons, there is also the lack of a third person view or any difference in V's body after installing so much cyberware, something a lot of people desired to see. So many kiosks scattered throughout the city and you can't even have an animation of sitting down on them and eat (nitpicking? it was sold as an immersive experience) rather than having to pick the item off your inventory and simply clicking on it. Or also the fact that stealth is still rather clumsy during gameplay, with prompts for silent kills often failing to appear at the right moment. Or when cars are falling down from the sky, exploding or simply crashing into you without reason. A company promised a product and purposely didn't deliver it, even with bandaids over 4 years and still lacks the basics that AAA open-world games established 20 years ago. The truth is: People don't value their own money, as someone not living in a cushy first-world country, this is pretty obvious since people who go through hardship learn that you can't pay and accept crap in return.
Glad you enjoyed the game! I myself waited until 2.0 to jump in and I'm super glad I held off as well, it's one of my favorite games at the moment but it might not have been if I went in day 1 on the ps4 lol. BTW, I highly recommend the DLC Phantom Liberty, I actually found myself enjoying it more than the main story and the extra things it adds to the game I consider to be essential. It isn't, however, a sequel DLC and is meant to be played alongside the main game but you can still play it if you've beaten the game.
Finished game on PC first week after launch, no bugs except for super stupid Night City's population. With all patches + DLC game became my favorite till today.
That is the sad thing. PC Release was always fine. All they had to do was to delay the console version. It would have been a good launch. But greed made them do stupid things... I really hope they did learn their lessons.

By the time they’ve brought out CP2 and fixed all the bugs it’ll be maybe 8 years? I wish they’d just add more dlc to what we have already, the game is pretty much perfect we just need more content and we’re happy to pay for it.
You can ride roller coaster. It’s Syed quest there. I played it after phantom Liberty on series x. I didn’t encounter only 3 bugs. At the airport it’s a songbird Mission, oil fields another. The game it’s really packed, crowded. Need a good mono and a very nice processor besides a shit tone of ram. It renders a lot all the time. When I saw some kind off bugs, my cpu was burning, gpu was burning. What I like about the game it’s that every time something else it’s going to happen. You make a choice a witch looked good just to find later that was a bad one. You don’t have the stats, many missions won’t even appear. 7 endings, Easter’s eggs all over the place. Played a lot of good games, but this one really makes you think. I didn’t like it that much the 1st time, was just another slice , shoot, game. Basically I was killing everyone left and right, Didn’t knew how cyberware works and all off that. After a few videos I can say I started to play for real. And something mediocre turned out to be really, really impressive. Like a bunch of games that I really liked. A read dead mixed with watch dogs, mixed with deus ex but more towards mature gamers oriented.
if you would have played the game at release which you said you didnt, you would have realized all those bugs and glitches were from people playing a new gen game on old gen, or with shitty pc specs. This is a big game that needs a rather powerful build to enjoy it. Playing cyberpunk in 2020 on the newest console, the Xbox Series X I dont believe I had a single crash, and only a few bugs, Which is typical with any new game. Sure it was rushed to be released but it was not an absolute disaster you and so many others claimed it to be. 9/10 review though.
The game definitely had bugs aplenty and a lot of things needed fixing not just visually but gameplay wise too. Cyberpunk is probably one of my favourite games now but if I'm being honest I played it at launch and it was genuinely a trainwreck. Texture problems, AI problems, Police problems, cars spawning in and out of existence... There were story missions with multiple bugs and I even got hardlocked at one point early in the story during the Arasaka heist so I gave up and decided to come back later. I played this on PC then with a GTX 1080Ti which is no slouch by the way. It is good to give the devs a pat on the back of course for fixing things, but it never should've been broken in the first place. Just hoping its a reminder to them to take their time to let things cook because 2.1 with Phantom Liberty feels like the director's cut version of what they had envisioned in the first place. Launch CP2077? big oof
It's funny how he spent so much time shitting on the launch like he actually experienced it. Review the game in its current state. A lot of people had no bugs whatsoever at launch.
@@meowrawr1999dude, so many other games are slightly less broken and nobody bats an eye. Cyberpunk clearly had bugs but also had a small majority who played the game with less bugs and still had a good time. I'm not one of them as i game on 2013 xbox one, the game caused my xbox to turn off more then a few times. And crashed like 100 times the first month. But what kept me playing was the story. The mystery. The game is a real contender for gta.
Yep, fully agree. I played cyberpunk like a week after release on geforce 1060Ti,core i3 and it was fine on 960x1080 resolution with high graphic settings. Through it all it crashed maybe 2 times, and I got no T pose or shit like that. There were at times some weird NPC deaths physics, unable to loot items under bushes and some other small annoying things. But overall I finished the game with a totally cleaned out map no problem. I haven't upgraded my computer and just bought and finished phantom liberty. Basically the same experience, just no real bugs whatsoever. 🤷🏻♂️
Tbh I just chalked every bug up to the fact that I essentially have a brain tumour. I'm imagining Johnny Silverhand, why can't I imagine a woman T-posing in mid-air.
Great video! I'm going to play with myself and then buy the game. Ik excited it finally good. I had it on console and played 1 hr before i was done. Going to buy it on pc now. Hope 4070 mobile is good enough.
I dont see how. The visual presentation is superb yes but the writing is kinda iffy. Most of the story ends up red herrings, dead ends, which feel useless to experience in 2nd playthrough knowing none it truly goes nowhere. One of the suggestions to help V earlier on is by Silverhand. He saying they should go to mikoshi, which ends up being one of the endings. Yet they shelve that idea until the end of the game which is odd. If they did this right away, the game story would be barely 5 hours. So rest of it feels like tons of filler of an already short main story as is.
LOL Dear God... Get out of my head!! Like you I bought it when it came out, then sat on it for four years. For reasons unknown I got the bug to look at it again, and... here we all are. Great gameplay, characters that you actually ‘care’ for and feel a connection to, and a story that really pulls you in. CDPR should be proud of this masterpiece. They worked HARD to deliver a quality game and they sure did deliver.
Master system was where I started too. Mickey mouse: castle of illusion OP
I'm 19 hours in... only bug I've experienced so far was when the mission stage tracker didn't update so the stage never moved on. You simply track another job, fast travel away, track the job and travel back again to restart the mission stage.

The space port and dog town are available with the expansion and you can ride the roller coaster if you search how to repair it
Good to know 40 other people had my same instinct: YOU CAN RIDE THE ROLLER COASTER! Glad I was able to shed light on that unique info.

Good stuff. Couple notes:
- Phantom Liberty kicks ass
- Upgrading weapons is important for iconic ones which have unique perks
- Fem V's voice is awesome
This is so true, I've played as both and I genuinely prefer Female V. To me it actually felt like her story unfolding.
This. Fem V is the way to go!
Fem v voice is the reason i always pick female player
But it's kinda stupid that the game can't let the player upgrade all weapons. Why keep it to iconic. I really loved swapping out mods. I play last gen cause of that.
Fem V voice is trash and she's always overact
They even hooked us up with dessert in the form of phantom liberty
The impressive thing for me is i played right after the launch something like 50 hours and didn't see 90% of the bugs people saw.
Always wandered why it was the same clips? ;:P
yah, it was blown waaay out of proportion.
I played it a few days ago and I overheard a conversation about a gate not opening, so I stopped and listened, then I saw one of them walk through the closed gate right after the conversation ended,
fyi the porsche u showed in the video isnt the one youre talking about, youll do quests for johnnys porsche, the other you can buy
But it playes well. Not totally great but well enough that we still got an epic dlc. The story was already epic.
bought it on release, heard it was getting fixed and have been waiting for the right time to come. with the dlc out and according to the latest reports the patches coming to an end I think that time is approaching.
6th playthrough, 700 hours in. The dlc start always SLAPS when you see the cd projekt logo presents phantom liberty
The "Little Sliver" area is the Phantom Liberty DLC area which also has many up-and under places.

It’s my first time playing the game and I’m having fun, few glitches but I love it
You can ride the coaster, also, Ohantom Liberty opens up more areas

I waited too. Happy I did. Just finished my first play through. Excellent game!
I have to say, you made me giggle a few times. Nice work. Have a thumbs up.
I just played CP2077 the first time last fall. I was surprised how much I loved it. After RDR2, it’s my favorite story game to play.
Thanks for the review. I think you going to love Phantom Liberty even more and Edge Runners the anime and soundtrack. Enjoy.
